I have to share this with you all as it shows just how bad things are getting.
In 1924 Liberty magazine sent out 100 letters to people selected at random throughout the U.S., enclosing $1 bill, saying it was an adjustment of an error which the addressed had complained of—which really did not exist. Of the 100 recipients, 27 returned the dollar, saying it was a mistake. Then in 1971, Liberty again conducted the same test. But now only 13 returned the money! If that were done today, they might get one back if they were lucky, but most likely none would be returned at all.

Compared to 1924 our dollar today is worth about 3 or 4 cents. I would like to think I would send it back, but not sure I would for $1. If a higher amount I definitely would send it back.

I see your point Oliver, First you have to have a stamp... that costs how much, now?
And an envelope.
Some people don't have one or the other, or maybe they don't have either? So they would have to get in their car, ( gas cost a bunch), to go buy stamps, and envelopes....for the dollar.
But I also get the point:
stealing, and keeping what does not belong to a person, is 'normal' in today's lack of standards...
The Bible saying: thou shall not steal... is no big deal anymore....
no morals, no honesty, no honor, no caring etc etc.
