I have been studying in Genesis lately as well as Revelation and would like to share some of the things that it's caused me to think about and see what insights you may have about it as well. First I'd like to share with you the ages of our first ancestors and how long they lived. Math is not my thing, but I used a calculator and triple checked each one, so I think my numbers are right. I'll come back and include the scriptures for when the person was first born and mentioned for you as I have for Seth and Enosh already (just hover your mouse over them to read them)... Also, feel free to check my math, as it's not my strong suit!.
Trust me...there is a point to all of this. You may want to just skim through all of to the very end and see the point and then come back and note whatever is of interest to you. I found it fascinating.

The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah is used over 20 times in Scripture as an illustration of God’s judgment during the days of Abraham and Lot (Gen 18:22–19:29). This destruction was in view of their apostasy, since it occurred about 450 years after the Flood, when at least one of Noah’s sons, Shem (Gen 11:10-11) was still living. This was only 100 years after Noah’s death (Gen 9:28), so people would have known about the message of righteousness and judgment from God which Noah preached, and which they rejected.
