I believe with all my being that we are living in the very last days before the rapture and tribulation. All of my thoughts are always colored with that belief I suppose. I wanted to share some things I've noticed the last few years, which I'm sure you all have noticed as well. First, obviously, the weather has gotten more and more violent, as has what the media usually calls "mother nature", unless it's so bad they label it an "act of God". I see this as the Lord preparing for the awful weather phenomena and things like earthquakes etc that will be happening during the Tribulation. I guess these things are one of the most obvious areas that people have been able to see the big change in.
Another area though is politics. I remember when Obama was running for president and how appalled we were that people seemed to be worshiping him, even to the point of calling him a savior. It was just sickening to us. Plus, it had never happened before in our history. We've had wonderful presidents that most all of the people loved, like Kennedy. The whole country mourned when he was killed. But no one, during his campaign or presidency ever treated him like a god or savior, and never spoke of him that way. Up until Obama ran, candidates were either good men or bad men. People loved them or hated them. But even when we "hated" a candidate, it wasn't with such a great hatred like we see today. Compared to the last 15 years or so, I guess we should probably say that people either loved or strongly disliked a candidate or president before. Not anymore though. Now they're either greatly loved or strongly hated. As repulsed as we were at the way Obama was treated by his supporters, now Trump is being treated and spoken of the same way, and that shows a pattern that's very scary, but is also one which I guess, had to happen. It's not even just in the US either. It's all over the world. The same thing has been happening in Europe and other places. That's why I say it's something that had to happen.
I've always wondered how the US especially would go from our elections to having such a great "love" for someone as to want them to rule over them the way the Antichrist will. Now we know. It makes sense scripturally too. God has warned us all through the Bible that we are not to trust our feelings, and that both our thoughts and feelings are corrupted. (That's why our minds need to be renewed and why He wants us in His Word daily, so they can be.) Think about what happened when Adam and Eve fell into sin. God had given them knowledge. They had conversations with God daily. They weren't stupid, and weren't cavemen. They were probably smarter then we are. He had given them all the knowledge of good. They were told that the only tree who's fruit they couldn't eat was the one that held the fruit of knowledge of good AND EVIL. As soon as they took that first bite, their thoughts and feelings became corrupt, because they now not only knew good, but also knew evil. The word for "know" in the original language, doesn't mean just to know something like knowing the date Columbus discovered America. It means to know intimately, like you would through experience. The longer they lived, the more that knowledge of evil corrupted their thoughts and feelings. So when they had children and taught their children about anything, but especially about God, what they taught them was no longer pure like they'd known before. It was corrupted. Most of us have played the game "telephone" where someone whispers something to the person next to them and they pass it to the next person and on down the line. Then when it's whispered to the last person, that person says out loud what they heard, and it's always hilarious because it's so different then what the first person said. Well, that's very much like what happened with Adam and Eve passing their knowledge down to their children, and their children passing it down to theirs and on and on. It's why we're all sinners. We can't help but be sinners because our minds and feelings have been corrupted since we were born.
OK, sorry, got off on a tangent there. Anyway, somehow people had to be ready to have such strong feelings of love for a leader that they'd want him to rule over them. People also had to be powerfully for sin and against godliness, which seemed to be impossible to happen here. But it has. Let's look at the scripture that speaks of this: “Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:3–4) The rebellion (also translated as "the falling away" or "the apostasy") is speaking of those who are supposedly Christians falling away from true doctrine and accepting heresy instead. That's what we're seeing now with those who are saying that homosexuality is good and OK with God, and that reading tarot cards or astrology, or divination, witchcraft, etc, is also ok with God and a good thing. It's what we see with abortion being accepted and rejoiced over, as well as many other things today. It's as God told us elsewhere, good is now seen as evil and evil is now seen as good. So that has happened and is happening today.
People couldn't very well accept the antichrist and want him to rule them if he stood for the godly things we love. Think about it, right now, we're the only thing standing in the way of all these evils being completely accepted and rejoiced over! THAT'S HOW CLOSE TO THE RAPTURE WE ARE!!! And when Jesus comes for us, I'm sure the people will rejoice that we're gone because then they'll be able to do what they want without anyone telling them it's wrong.
Today we're seeing the results of what happens when people place their feelings and experiences over God's Word, and say that something is true or good simply because their heart says so and or because they experienced it so it has to be so. That's a HUGE part of the falling away, the rebellion. Only God's Word, the Bible, can tell us whether something is true or good. But if people's feelings weren't being made into idols, then emotions wouldn't be running rampant around the world today. We wouldn't have people practically worshiping presidents and rulers, or hating them enough to wish them dead. We wouldn't have those same kind of reactions over what God's Word says, and we wouldn't see them over just about everything now, like about vaccinations, education, medicine, politics, sexuality, etc. Emotion has taken over and now instead of people being self controlled, emotion rules them and they react according to how they feel. Satan has and continues to take advantage of that and hypes up people's emotions so they're stronger then usual too. There is no room for discussion or careful thought any more. You either must agree with whoever you're talking to or you'd better leave. We're already seeing actual riots in America! I never thought I'd see that happen here! It's crazy, literally! And I can guarantee you, it will get worse.
Another strange thing has been happening too, that I've wondered how it would come about. The Antichrist is actually going to be kind to Israel at first. (or at least appear to be so when he makes it so they can rebuild their temple) But past presidents haven't been very friendly to Israel lately, which is what made me wonder about it. Even now there's more antisemitism then ever, even here in the US. But I'm beginning to see how it can happen. Trump has been Israel friendly, so he's opened the door to this possibility now. Even making Jerusalem the capitol where the embassy is. It wouldn't be as hard now for someone to offer the rebuilt temple in exchange for something else as a way to bring "peace" to the mid east. Especially if the other side knew what the antichrist's real plan was. I suspect something else major will happen first. Maybe something that would make it so that people are really afraid of an imminent nuclear attack in the mid east and want to prevent it at all costs. That would really heighten people's emotions and cause them to want a savior!
