I think we get rain this weekend I think not going be big storm here in SO CAL we get wet I think spring is coming I look at Accu weather for Los Angeles seem we get nice and sunny day especially after this storm then we have more rain not as much I think warmer weather and longer days are comin

 Kelly, I'm glad to hear your family is all fine. I checked everything I could think of to try and find out if you were ok, but didn't find anything. It was so frustrating. But at least we knew we could trust the Lord to bring you back to us safe and sound!
Marlene, did the radio station say they were going to be down for a time or is this unexpected? Maybe not enough people paid for it? I'm sorry you can't get the music you like. I hope it does come back on for you.
Speaking of the National Guard, I found out that they trained Chris to fly one of those helicopters! I was so surprised, because he never told me!
I know what you mean Oliver. I'm sure we can all remember when we could go shopping and not hear any cussing or see anything indecent either. That's sure not the case anymore. That's really sad too because the people are just storing up wrath for themselves unless they repent and get saved.

Kelly, I am checking out the two links, has y tube video of music, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Bach and will find more... Tim Janis has nice y tube videos with music but every video has birds chirping in the background, tried to find one of his videos without that but haven't found one yet. He gets a lot of views.
I spent the morning with the neighbor large dogs, sisters, Nellie and Maggie, they escaped their, get in the house now home and went for a long walk, came to where I was all tired out, they must have went for a long walk, they were happy to see me then I put them out of gate to go home so they won't get in trouble, I wish I could talk to that woman, her name is Kelly, for her sake I don't like that she dislikes me so much, one reason is because I have less money than her, she is wealthy, and another a trouble maker old man did a lot of damage to people getting to know each other around here.
Cindy when my husband was 19 years old he was an airplane mechanic in the Army and they wanted to send him to school to become a helicopter mechanic, he was able to fly in a helicopter and they let him control fly the helicopter, I like that and hoped he would go to that school but he said he did not want anything to do with helicopter mechanics.
Cindy there is a post in devotionals that should be deleted.

anna, you can't go wrong with Bach. He was a Christian as far as I can tell. He gave God all credit for his music. He told his family to not mourn for him because "he was going to where the music comes from".

When I did a search for any major problems in California and couldn't find anything, all I could think of was that your internet might be out. I did a search for that too, but what I found seemed to indicate that the major internet outages had been fixed already. But I still hoped that might be the problem, and figured that would drive you crazy if it was!

That's so neat that they taught him that. I've been surprised at all the taught Chris. I knew what the Air Force officers learned since my Dad was an Air Force officer, but never knew what they taught enlisted. Chris was Army which is obviously different from the Air Force, but it's neat to see that they seem to try and develop every bit of a persons potential.
That's too bad about the guy making trouble for people that way. I guess that's one of Satan's favorite schemes.

May I ask you all for yet another favor? (It's another prayer request). I have to sell my ex husband's house. Currently Christopher's friend, Josh, is still living in it because he wants to buy it. His credit isn't quite good enough for him to do it on his own yet though, so he has to ask his parents to cosign. If they won't do that, then he can't buy the house and that would cause us some HUGE problems. I have to put the house up for sale within the next few weeks though, so he needs to act now and talk to his parents and get the ball rolling. I guess my concern is that I really don't know him very well. He seems nice enough, but it was his sister that caused Chris so much trouble and his mother didn't help matters. Chris assured me that Josh was a good guy and told us the truth. But is he still telling the truth or has he just been wanting a free ride all this time? Right now, I'm still dealing with Christopher's death and some other major family issues as well. I know I can do all things through Christ, but honestly, I just don't want to even consider having yet another major issue to deal with. Would you mind praying that Josh and his parents will be able to buy my ex husband's house and that they will start the process immediately? I would sure appreciate it. And if you're comfortable sharing the request with other Christians you know, or at Church, that would be great too. I need all the help I can get!

This posting at the same time, must be catching
I think Devon and I are doing fairly well with school.
I also think we could do more...
but we often end up with some good talks about
the Bible scriptures
end times,
and so on.
I think, that might actually be more important than studying math, etc.
One day, Devon asked if he could have me listen,
to his study he was doing on
Philemon v. 1-7
It was a very very good Bible study
( he had looked up a number of words in Greek,
and had several excellent applications etc etc.)
The only thing I thought needed improvement,
was at first,
he was nervous, and had a nervous laugh...
( which was totally unnecessary,
as his study was really really good).
He did settle down after a bit, and the laugh slowed waaay down.
Another interesting thing, is one of his best friends,
who is sort of an agnostic/atheist,
but also is constantly asking Devon,
to explain parts of the Christian faith....
This friend was very very depressed the other night.
So Devon went to his friend's home,
at 9 and stayed until 10:30
And the friend did cheer up a LOT!!
I said to Devon:
You know, IF Jesus should delay ( we both groaned nooooo
oh well His timing.... not ours)
And IF Devon does perhaps go into some kind of ministry
I don't really think he would be a youth pastor, or worship leader
but more (maybe) a lead pastor
AND
one of the many many many things a lead pastor does,
is to see people at all hours,
like those sick in a hospital,
or super depressed etc.
those wanting to get married,
or baptized
etc.
he did this
after a very busy day,
having been sick with a lingering cold for a few weeks...
and so even tho he was a 'bit' tired,
he still, made the effort to go and comfort his friend.
I am not 'pushing' him in that direction
but it was his own idea,
to try out a bible study on me ( mini sermon)
But he is a very good artist,
and a composer of music!!!!!
Still he has such a kind heart,
for the brothers and sisters in Christ..
with 5 or more years as a greeter,
everybody knows him
and he is super well liked.
So he has some qualifications.
he goes to about 3 bible studies.
and he serves with the streaming and slides,
at one church every other week,
That pastor told him,
he felt like Devon was preaching with him
because Devon is so focused,
he does not miss any last minute changes,
that pastor might do on the spur of the moment.
Still, we have made some stronger goals,
like seeing if we can get thru and finish by June
all of Dr. Lisle book:
The Physics of Einstein
And today we started
Darwin's Black Box:
The Biochemical Challenge to Evolution
by Dr. Michael J. Behe
Still winter is hard, with sniffles, sneezes, etc.
and we get off track a bit too much...
but I am not worried.
He understands hard concepts very quickly
I have him explain some of it to me!!!!

That's great about Devon, Barbara! (I only quoted part of your post so you'd know I was replying to yours.) Many people react with a nervous laugh when doing that at first. It shows one other thing besides the fact that he was nervous. It shows that he loves and admires you greatly! If he didn't, he wouldn't have been nervous about how he was doing. You might let him know that if he does choose to go to seminary, that they will teach him how to preach a sermon and he will have to give sermons to the class as part of that class. In MacArthur's seminary, he would also eventually give a sermon in the chapel. The point being though, that is something covered in seminary - or at least it used to be. (I keep forgetting that many churches and therefore seminaries have turned secular) But you and I know for sure that MacArthur's is true to God's Word and fully equips their seminary students! So with you as his first teacher and the seminary as a second one, he would wind up being a great pastor!

I think it was the pastor at the Baptist church ( not the Cavalry pastor)
who said, many pastors are getting burned out, and not a ton of young men are going into the ministry.
so if Jesus delays and Devon is called it could be a good thing.
Time will tell.

Barbra a few days ago I had thought about writing that brother Michael and you said the same thing about the same time, I didn't get around to doing that.
Sad news about the Texas fire in 3 counties now in Oklahoma also the Sierra Nevada winds and snow wow. There is an Amish farmer in PA, he will be in court and might get prison time and have his farm taken away from him, the Amish are showing up at the court house to protest.
I heard State Farm Insurance suffers $6.3 billion loss due to catastrophic claims in the year 2023 from home owners insurance policies.
This is funny, like a bad neighbor state farm don't care.
