Hello! I will be glad when we get cooler weather here in the southwest. We have had plenty of rain, but I wonder where the coyotes are :confused:the coyotes have not been around here all summer, which is unusual, so because of that we have more mice running around. The coyotes may be in the farmers fields of corn where there they can get water since my neighbor no longer fills his pond with water and also there are plenty of mice there where the corn grows. I also saw a locust, so there are a few of them around but it is good that not many of them are here, lots of grasshoppers, so I have had to bring indoors my outdoors potted plants because the grasshoppers were eating them. I was given a nice circular metal rack to hold my potted plants, which kept them off the ground and soon I hope to put the plants back there where they belong. God bless, love Anna

Hi all, I don't have to worry about mice to much with two cats. By the time I see them and its been a few years now, they are usually dead. Its been a might bit chilly here the last two days. Yesterday I did laundry all day and never even turned on any of the fans to try and cool down the house. I think summer may be officially over. Not much going on today, just hanging at home and relaxing. Chelsea's coming over for dinner tomorrow. She's going to do laundry and have dinner with us. I get to work. She had a four day weekend. They don't have school at this school on Friday, They go from 7-4 Monday - Thursday. Stan had a 3 day weekend and I got a measly 2 day weekend. That's not fair! lol At least I get paid double time tomorrow and I can leave as soon as I get done, which may be a half hour early.

I was just reading recently about the terrible damage they can do! I wish summer was over here, but according to the weather report last night, now it looks like it'll be Friday before the weather finally starts cooling off again. I sure hope it stays in the low to mid 70's after Friday this time!
I'm surprised that there's a school like that. I'd think most parents would have a fit, since then they'd have to get babysitters for the day the kids have off. I'm old fashioned and would have loved having my kids home all day, but I know most parents work now so can't take care of them. Such a shame.... oh well.
Bruce has today off and so does Jenn's hubby, Bob, so they're coming over later this afternoon. Speaking of which, I guess I'd better get busy huh?

It sounds like you had a real nice weekend even with the heat Lulu!
Jenn and Bob never made it over yesterday so we just spent the day relaxing together. That was nice too.
I hear you Margie. I often feel the same way myself LOL But to me, it seems like you do a lot! I'm so sedentary now it's ridiculous.
I have another favor to ask of you all. Would you all pray for me this week? I am possibly going to have to address a very, very, touchy situation this coming weekend, if the Lord wills it. If so, I really, really, need to be able to put aside myself completely and only have the Lord speak through me with His Word, and none of my own at all. I'm dong my best with His help to soak in His Word and prayer so that I'll be ready should the opportunity arise. I need to make sure that my heart is clean before the Lord and that I've conquered my flesh in this area before I can hope to deal with it the way He would want me to. And of course that I'm completely submitted to Him and His Will, without any of my own will, or wants getting in the way. So I'm trying to rid myself of all of my desires in this area and just leave myself filled with only His love and His Word about it. It's a struggle though, and I would sure feel better about it if I knew others were keeping me in prayer. I don't know when or even if it will happen. But if it does, I expect that it will be either Saturday or Sunday. I've been preparing for several days already, but it seems like time is just flying by. I need the Lord's help also to be courageous and to trust Him to speak through me, so that I'll speak boldly and with confidence when the time comes.
:scared:Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it! I'll tell you all about it afterward, God willing.
Kel and Lorrie...you have private messages waiting for you....

Hello! Cindy I will be praying for your prayer request. I am sorry to read that you cut your thumb, so nice of you to warn others to be careful with those pill cutters. I am working a lot this week, mostly just work and sleep, so I will write to you later, God bless, Anna

Thank you Anna, I appreciate it greatly! Don't work too hard! I'm hoping to get a lot done this weekend. I've asked all my children to come over on either Saturday or Sunday (or both) to help us with the yard since I've been unable to do hardly anything in it this year and there's no way I can get it done by myself even with Bruce's help. So I'm hoping they'll all show up, but don't know if they will or not yet. Regardless of that though, I'll be having to do a great deal this weekend, that's for sure.

(((Cindy))), I'll be praying!
Boy I have slowed down posting lately. My apologies, it's not due to lack of interest, just a lot going on with the Precept course on Hebrews I'm taking, and all. Lulu, I'm sorry Jazzy didn't end up being at your house all weekend, but am glad she was with her daddy and that all of you were together on Monday for the cookout. Margie, it's still really hot here too, but it's been overcast also so that has helped a little in keeping the temps slightly lower. Lee, hard to believe your summer is over this early!! Hope you had a nice Labor Day, even if you had to work (at least you got overtime!). Cindy, I hope all if not most of your kids will show up to help you with your yard this Saturday. Ours has gotten a little out of control also and I think Timothy's coming over today to work in it for us, to earn some extra money for himself. Anna, it sounds like you're staying very busy right now, between working and sleeping. I pray you stay safe, there on the border.
Well I started driving (very cautiously!) a couple of days ago. It's nice being able to take myself places again. I have a doctor's appointment this morning, then my Precept class, so am up early to get ready to leave early.

Thank you both so much! Our weather's been miserably hot and humid too, although probably not as bad as you guys. For us it's bad though. Thankfully yesterday marked the change finally and it's down to the mid to low 70's. Looks like it will stay that way now, although there's still going to be some humidity tomorrow which will make it feel like it's 80. Not nearly as bad as it's been, but still too hot for me lol But Sunday should be perfect and every day after that for the next week looks perfect too! Can't wait!
I'm doing fairly well physically. Been in a bit more pain then usual, but that's from the weather. I didn't realize when I got hurt that my body would be so susceptible to storms and sudden changes in the weather. It's really weird. I can sure see where all the old wives tales and sayings come from though, and have a new respect for them too.
Lorrie, in case I don't get to post on facebook, I did see your post about your nephew and thought it was wonderful! I shared it with Jennifer as what you said about him reminded me so much of her.

Good day! I got some rest after working outside in the sun and in the heat of the day. I thought I would not be able to do it but the sky did get cloudy so there was a cooler breeze. We were in a rush to disassemble the ultra-light airplane. Ron flying that plane was the funnest time I had this summer, I didn't want to take it apart and store it, but now it is getting to cool outside for him to fly. He likes to fly at 1000 to 2000 feet in the air, I suggested to him that he fly at 500 feet and Wayne said he should fly at 4 feet high. Donna gave me some tomatoes and cucumbers from her garden. She said that to many grasshoppers has stopped her zucchini from growing as they are eating the plants. I never buy cucumbers or zucchini at the grocery store; so I thought Donna gave me zucchini instead of cucumbers. That night I decided to bake zucchini brownies but made the mistake of thinking that the cucumbers were zucchini, so I ended up baking cucumber brownies.lol They taste ok but I will never make that mistake again. I hope you all have a restful weekend, Anna

Cucumber brownies!!! What a shock! I would think they really watered down your batter. Wow Anna, it's hard to believe it's getting too cool to fly; I think of your area as very hot, like Lulu's. That surprised me to read. Cindy, glad to hear your temps have dropped too. It is still hot and humid here; can't wait for fall. At least it's not as bad as what Lulu said she's had this week though. Lulu, thanks for praying for all of us, and thank Mace too for being such a good boy and waiting with you. I love to sit and watch people, as you described. Cindy, so sorry you are affected by the changes in the weather. John has always been that way, aching in his bones when a storm is coming. That really takes all the fun out of waiting for a storm! I forgot that today was 9-11 until this morning. I watched some of the news coverage and the remembrances, where the people in NY were reading off the names of everyone who died that day. So sad, and also have been following the coverage on the Syrian refugees into Europe, and see that the U.S. might take in 10,000. Yesterday when I was at my doctor's appointment, the doctor told me that last year one day when she and her little boy were home alone, an intruder with a sawn-off shotgun broke into her house. She already had a handgun, but was not properly trained and was too stunned and frightened to use it, so later she went and took some training and now feels perfectly able to protect herself if anything like that happens again. (She did not say what happened with the intruder, but obviously nobody was hurt. He was looking for money to buy drugs.) She said, "I hate to say it, but it doesn't look like things are going to get any better in the world," and I agreed, "No, I think they're going to get worse." I am not sure where she stands with the Lord, however she did say they are going to church now, so I was thrilled to hear that. I really like this doctor and think we could be friends if she weren't my physician.

Hi Leigh The weather here is still warm and it will not be to cool to fly in the air plane at high altitudes exposed to the wind until the month of October, but we wanted to get the plane taken apart early because we were concerned that around 9/11 general aviation could be grounded.

Oh okay, well that makes sense! However... I don't think I realized that airplanes were "take apart." That sounds a little scary!! And Cindy, I forgot to reply about the video of my nephew's baptism testimony. I thought of Jenn too because I knew she was born so prematurely, as Jacob was. Hopefully she'll be able to see the video; because of my privacy settings, I'm not sure, but if not maybe she can watch it at your house. I thought it was the sweetest thing and it made me cry. He has never had a lot of friends because he is a little different due to the CP (fortunately he has plenty of siblings!), but you can tell what a precious heart he has. Well I fell asleep on the couch last night about 10:00 and have been awake since 3:something. Hope everyone has a nice Saturday.

I hope Jenn can though. I'll be sure to ask her.
I called off the yard help thing. It wasn't going to work out anyway, so there wasn't much point. I'll just do what I can and leave it at that. Not today though as it's going to be too hot again, but starting tomorrow it'll be perfect, so I'll do what I can on Sunday.

Much cooler here - this morning when I picked up the newspaper the morning air felt wonderful.
My son and his family will be here tomorrow so I'm baking chocolate chip cookies for them.
Leigh, so glad your ankle is improving.
Hugs to all.

another warm one here, not as bad, but humid...it's raining up north, thank the Lord, that's where one of the big fires is burning.. the Butt mountain fire is where we use to live all them years ago. our kids call it their home, they grew up almost 10 years there.. time for bed..it's been a nice couple weeks, only 40 hours last week, and looking like the same this week...

Been feeling grateful lately!! ...Barbara's garden always makes me think of Eden... and because we are both artists I am grateful indeed that I can even get a glimpse of the beauty that God filled the world with ...how wonderful the Garden must have been before sin... I am so enjoying working with the 3D Shapeways web site... designing jewelry... tomorrow will be getting an inexpensive graphics tablet... and I hope to design even more interesting items then... Barbara has commission to do a painting of a little dog... when Creativity flows we are both grateful.. Thank you Father!!

That's wonderful Leonard! I always wanted to be able to do arts and crafts things, but it's not something I have any talent for. I love to sing too, but other people don't like it LOL Oh well, the Lord gave me other talents and I appreciate them. I just hope He gives me a better voice and the ability to stay in tune when we get to Heaven - for everyone's sake LOL

I have seen such pretty jewelry lately that compliments a woman's outfit. In jewelry I like the Indian type small beads looking jewelry, but also so many other nice looking necklaces, and now men wear jewelry that compliments what they are wearing. Women like to look at jewelry. I remember not long ago when I was at Walmart in the check out line and there was a young man there talking to me when suddenly he gave a loud shout out to his wife to come and join him and she came by his side and said she was enjoying looking at the jewelry.
I hope the rapture comes real soon, I want to see beauty and experience peace and freedom.

it's a beautiful day here today, warm with a nice breeze. Looking forward to my this afternoon....blue sky's. thinking about what to cook for dinner...got a couple things running through my mind...I usually have it figured out before leaving work, but didn't work that way today.. been feeling kinda sad, or overwhelmed might be better, with prayer and the stuff going on around the world. I do pray the Lord comes soon...but we might have to endure much more before that...and that's the sad part of how I've been feeling....but I am grateful for every day and every blessing... would like to ask for pray for Rick, a friend of ours, he has a meeting tonite that's pretty important, I will explain later...after we find out how it all worked out...it involves our old church and the man that preaches there...

I hope the rapture comes real soon, I want to see beauty and experience peace and freedom. There is some really beautiful jewelry. I've never been into actually owning any of it much, but like to look at it. I certainly hope the Lord comes soon too! I was reading in a book last night a really neat way of looking at things - similar to what I've said before but a little different. They compared our physical world, and everything in it, including jewelry to "shadows". They explained that before sin entered the world, humans, and everything in the world were so much more beautiful then they are now and that since sin entered the world, we and everything else are nothing but shadows compared to what we were meant to be. That the Lord is working in us daily to make us more and more like how we were intended to be. After we get our new bodies and the Lord makes a new earth, then everything will finally be the way God intended it from the beginning - it won't be shadows anymore, we and the world will be more beautiful (inside and out) then we can even imagine! it's a beautiful day here today, warm with a nice breeze. I said a prayer for him Lulu and pray it all works out wonderfully. I've been trying to write out a weeks worth of dinner menus at a time so I don't have to worry about it the night before all the time. I hate trying to figure out what I'm going to cook for dinner the next day, just before I go to bed. (so I can take it out of the freezer to thaw). So it helps me to make up a list for a week or so at a time. That way I don't have to think about it, I can just check my list and pull out whatever it says to pull out LOL
Oh, guess what? I finally got to see Christopher last night! Michael brought him over to visit with us and they stayed for a couple of hours. He was a bit uncomfortable when they first arrived, which I expected, but by the time they had to leave, I think he felt quite comfortable and at home again. After seeing him, I was thankful I didn't see him sooner. I know that sounds weird, but he was like a skeleton and that's AFTER he's gained quite a bit of weight! I was so shocked by how desperately sick he looked, so it helped knowing he had already improved a bunch and was continuing to. Michael looked a little bit better, but he's still quite sick himself, though his is physical and not caused by alcohol. They both sounded good and are doing well. It's good to see that at least their relationship with each other has been restored and with us too of course.

I went to lunch with a friend today. We went to Panera Bread. I really like their sandwiches.
Still hot here; I think it was 96 degrees today.
Hope everyone has a good day. Hugs.

We would love to see pictures of Barbara's garden, as well as the jewelry you're designing, if you would ever like to post them! Hello everyone... haven't posted in chat at all this week. I've been a little down lately and it must be for the same reasons Lulu gave... so much going on in the world and also here around me... it's a spiritual battle. BUT - good news, I've just talked to Ruthanne this morning!! We had a nice conversation and she said to tell you all hello and asks you to pray for her. She has a hard time sitting at the computer to read and post, but she does think about and miss everyone here. She mentioned you all by name. Here is an update on her family: Larry does not feel well and won't discuss his health; he has trouble breathing to talk anyway, so he doesn't say much at all. Ruthanne tries to make life pleasant for him. Christian is 17 now and got a car and therefore thinks he's independent! Tyler is 12; he stays with them on weekends, and Grandma tries to make him eat. His school is near her house, so he also comes over after basketball practice. Can you believe that little Levi is ONE year old today?! He is running and walking and knows his Grandma's voice! They're having a family party for him on Sunday, so that will be fun. Please keep Ruthanne and all of them in your prayers. Well, I went back to the ortho this week for a four week follow-up on my foot; it has healed, not totally, but is much better so I don't need to go back to him unless I want to. (I don't want to, therefore don't plan to. ) I broke my foot on the retreat for the Baptist ladies choir I'm in. Tomorrow we have our first concert of the school year, so it will be fun to see everyone again. They have been so kind--sending emails, get-well cards, and even flowers, since my accident happened with them. Cindy, you asked me a question here on chat that I read and then forgot to answer, but will answer it now. You said, "Didn't something else happen last year on your retreat with that group??" You have a great memory because YES -- the first day of the retreat last year was also the FATEFUL day I found the snake curled up inside the foyer of my house!!!!! I had awakened with pretty significant back pain that day and could barely move, but upon seeing the snake the sudden movement of jerking around, running for my life to the kitchen and leaping on top of the table apparently cured it. (I'm sure you heard my terrified screams all the way to the other three corners of the U.S. -- Cindy in the NE, Kel in the NW, and Lulu & Anna in the SW!! ) If I stay in the group next year, I'm going to be EXTRA careful on & around the time of that retreat!

I went to lunch with a friend today. We went to Panera Bread. I really like their sandwiches. Still hot here; I think it was 96 degrees today. Hope everyone has a good day. Hugs. Hi Margie! Good to see you! It's been warmer then it's supposed to have been this week for us, so I'm still waiting for fall here too. But they AGAIN say it's supposed to start this Sunday..... We'll see. I've been afraid to ask the Lord LOL I don't want to know if it'll be even longer! (I'll add the rest of my news after replying to Lorrie, so I don't have to write it twice lol)Been feeling grateful lately!! ...Barbara's garden always makes me think of Eden... and because we are both artists I am grateful indeed that I can even get a glimpse of the beauty that God filled the world with ...how wonderful the Garden must have been before sin... Yep, hearing your scream is most likely why I remembered it, because otherwise my memory isn't all that great anymore so it had to be something significant Hmmmm You might want to consider some heavy duty praying before going on that retreat again!
Elijah is very excited! He's going on a camp out for the whole weekend with his boy scout troop. It's right near his home so they won't be far away but of course Jenn and Bob are going to really feel it. I remember the first time every one of my children spent the night away from home and the first time they spent a weekend away from me. It's hard on the parents! On the other hand, Grace is a little excited too because she's going with Grandma and Grandpa tomorrow while her parents go see what they can do about their car which is about to fall apart on them. So we're going to have her to ourselves tomorrow. We have to do some grocery shopping, but figure we'll take her to a fun store she's never been in too which she should enjoy. And I have a few other things up my sleeve as well. I want it to be at least a little special for her. She's such a good girl! Jenn came by this morning and got Bruce's tent for Elijah. He showed Elijah how to set it up last weekend, but we kept it here as he needed to waterproof it before they took it. So he should be all set now.
Well, I've got to get busy on the house, so I'll see you all later! Have a great day everyone!
