Popping in to say hello and that we made it home safely to SC yesterday. I am skipping church this morning. Everyone else went, but since we originally planned to be coming home today anyway, I decided not to go this once; Daniel thinks I'm a heathen. However, I'm about to run to pick up a few groceries. We are using Cheryl's delicious tomatoes to make BLTs for lunch, with her cucumbers on the side. Nothing beats home grown!
It's great to be home, but with Timothy home from California with all his stuff, and with us home with all our stuff... AND the bonus room left in disarray because it's in the process of being painted.... everything looks awful.
(((Cindy))), prayers for your family.
Margie, hope you enjoy your son's visit, AND the chocolate chip cookies!
Anna, thanks for your PM, and I'll watch the video later that you posted above. I don't blame you a bit for not wanting to horse-sit!! Is it only temporarily that Bucky wants to leave them there? I agree with you! And for them not even to talk to you, then to ask that kind of a favor (it would be different if they offered to pay you)..... wow! Let us know what ends up happening with that!

Hi guys! I have a funny to share with you all: On Our latest police logs
Chocolate chip are my favorites too and Bruce's!
Hope you get the horse situation taken care of Anna. I've always loved horses!
Glad you're home safe and sound Lorrie!
Just a quick note as I have to get busy. Didn't get as much done as I needed to yesterday as I kept falling asleep.

Loved the story Cindy!!! LOL
Anna, so far I haven't been able to email the pictures (don't ask me why - I don't know why it's not working). Will try again later. Now I have to get busy again painting that room over the garage that I started several weeks ago. My goal is to have it all finished by Friday but at the rate it's been going, I don't know if it'll ever be done.

PS - whoever sees this today, please say a prayer for my Timothy. He gets insomnia whenever he has an early morning place to be, and he had to return to work at his old Starbucks job this morning at 7:45 (for an 8 hour shift). He only got an hour of sleep, right before he had to wake up and get ready for work, so he was pretty upset about that. Plus I don't think his body has re-adjusted to Eastern Standard Time after being in CA for the last two months. So, your prayers would be greatly appreciated. I worry because he pumps himself up with coffee to stay awake and I know that's not good for his health.
Thanks!

Praying for your Timothy, Leigh.
My Timothy and his son were here yesterday and they did enjoy the chocolate chip cookies. I packed a big box of cookies for them to take home.
It was 106 degrees yesterday and might be hotter than that today. I don't want to think about the electric bill.
Hugs to all.

Wow Margie! I guess I won't complain about the 80 degree weather we had yesterday then!
Sorry Timothy didn't get much sleep Lorrie. I hope he's doing better today.
Have a lot going on in my family so I've been a busy bee. Spending a lot of time in prayer.
Love you guys!

It has gotten that hot here in Columbia a time or two, although not in recent years that I can remember. This has been a bad summer, but we haven't gotten THAT hot (yet, and I hope we don't!). Glad you got to see your son Timothy, and your grandson, and I know they enjoyed their cookies. You're such a considerate mother! Thank you both for praying for my Timothy. He ended up surviving the day at work, and had a better night of sleep last night. I've been painting that awful bonus room and working on organizing my closet today. My goal still remains to have the room painted by Friday and progress continues at a snail's pace , however my closet is looking good! I bought a giant package of those ultra-thin non-slip hangers and they really DO save space in the closet.

Hi seven, it is good to read what you have been doing with your time off work.
Leigh, yes I did get the three pictures that you sent to my e-mail. I was just now able to get on-line today and see them. You are so cute! Cheryl looks nice also, I miss her not being here. We have two computers and we downloaded windows 10 in the desk top computer that Ron uses, but now Ron is trying to download windows 10 in my lap top computer now for two days and it will not take windows 10, it stays at windows 7. I don't care, that is fine for me but after 7 tries Ron is still trying to get windows 10, so I haven't been around for two days. ps Leigh, when we were teenagers my brother Mark had his room painted a burnt orange color and it looked nice especially with the dark furniture set that he had. My sister Marsha and I shared a room over the garage and we had a white bedroom set with blue carpet and blue walls, that also looked nice. My father did not like to use much heat in the home in the winter and having a room over the garage we had ice on the inside of our window in the winter. He had plenty of money to pay for heating the home but he was a frugal person.

I want to see if I can download windows 10 on my computer...it would sure help if I can.
Just a quick post today as I've got a ton of paper work to do and have to do it whether I want to or not.

Hi Seven!!
Hi Anna, thank you, and I'm glad you got the photos. It was a wonderful day, meeting Cheryl!
Your teenage bedroom sounds so pretty, with the white furniture against the blue walls and carpet, but how sad that you had to be so cold up there! Those rooms over the garage seem to get more hot AND cold than the rest of the house.
Hi Cindy, hope you get your paper work done.
I think our computer updated (automatically?) to Windows 10 recently. We hated Windows 7, and now I can't figure out 10. I mostly work off my MacBook anyway.
Have been painting like crazy. Today I got the second coat of paint on three walls, which finished out the gallon can. I think I can finish the 4th wall & stairwell with just a quart, hopefully. If this is EVER done I'm going to put pics on FB and will email them to you Anna (if you would like to see). After all this hard work -- I'm gonna show it off!
Daniel started a new job today at Chick Fil-A.

Hi everyone! Sorry I'm late yet again. This is becoming a habit that I don't particularly like, but I honestly haven't been feeling well at all, and neither has Bruce so I've been trying to take care of him too. But he went back to work today anyway. Praise God that he gets paid for the time he missed now! What a relief that is! He's also managed to get our blazer working again so Jenn doesn't have to take me shopping this week. I'm sure that's got to be a relief for her! lol
I did get the paper work done though but have s few things left to do today.
I think I misunderstood about windows 10 - I thought you guys were talking about the operating system, but I guess it's only the browser and I much prefer firefox so don't want or need another browser.
Guess I'd better get busy if I'm going to get much more posting done. Mainly I've been trying to work on the reflection of Psalm 119 in the how to study the bible forum. But I want to do something else too.
Can't wait to see pictures of all your painting Lorrie. I saw the one on facebook of Daniels first day to work. That was a good one! He's really grown up a lot!
Your room sounds really nice Anna. I'm not very good at choosing colors...well I can choose them without any problem, but I'm too chicken usually to actually paint the wall with them lol

I had read that prepper stock up food that people stock up on is now not available to buy, so I went 0n-line to check it out. Some is not available and some is. I was surprised when I looked at powdered eggs, it was out of stock at one site, which a few months ago cost around 20 dollars a can, now it is out of stock at that site and is sold at Am*zon for 63 dollars a can. I also read that out of stock will not be replaced any time soon at the popular stock up sites that sell. So that was a change I read about, checked out and noticed that it is so. Especially eggs, with all the talk about problems with chickens and bird flu. Cindy I am glad that you and Daniel post daily here, news and scriptures. I know you two could be doing something else with your time but are faithful to post, so thanks for that. Leigh, I would like to see a picture sent to e-mail of the orange painted bedroom.

Hello all, dropping in to say hello . Not much has been going on here. I'm 13 weeks preggo now. Some of you know that I was teaching last year but it ended up not working out so now I am back to subbing until I find another job. Last time I was subbing I was also working as a waitress for extra money. I'm trying to avoid doing that again lol. We're on a tight budget right now. I just signed up to be a jamberry consultant too for a little extra money so we'll see how that goes. If you're on my Facebook you'll be hearing more about that soon lol. Plus I'm going to keep painting, but that doesn't bring in much money (I actually painted my avatar picture ). So things are going to start getting interesting soon, but we are trusting God that we'll make it through .

Congratulations Jeanette! Are you hoping for a girl or a boy this time?
Your painting is really nice! I love it! You have so many talents!
Happy Birthday Kelly!
Thanks Anna, I'm glad that you're able to enjoy some of the articles.
Sunday is our 19th wedding anniversary and for the first time ever, Bruce took vacation days so he could have a long weekend to spend with me for our anniversary. So he's got today off and this coming Monday off too. It's going to be nice to just spend time with him.
Right now I want to do a little research on an offer we saw from a local butcher to see how good of a price it is. They offer you 200 pounds of meet (your choice of how much of what kinds) for $1,253.72 but they have you pay it by the week at only $23.01, although they give you all the meat right away. I just want to find out if that would really save us money or not... it sure sounds good though.

lol at the graphic Cindy So you actually went to the butcher shop to ask about the meat, I am interested in reading how that trip went. I have never heard of such a deal as that being offered. I baked zucchini pumpkin muffins today, they taste good. I can never remember the spelling of that word zucchini. Dona gave Ron three zucchini from her garden and she said that all of her tomatoes are ripening at once so she will have to give some away, I hope she gives some to Ron, I will look up a recipe to use just in case I get some ripe tomatoes.

You will never guess what was inside the cover of our furnace yesterday. I heard a scratching noise and I told Ron I think there is a bird or a mouse inside the furnace as once we did have to take the furnace apart to get a bird out the furnace. At that time we had the back door open so the bird could fly away and there on the fence another bird was sitting close by watching and waiting for the bird to fly outside, which it did. But yesterday it was not a bird, it was a large gila monster. It clung to the furnace cover so Ron was able to just take the furnace cover outside and shake the gila monster off of it. That is another reminder to me to always wear boots when I go outdoors.

Oh my goodness, Anna! I didn't even know what a gila monster was until just now. Looked it up and !! YES, always wear those boots and stay safe from critters!!
Bystillwaters, it is so nice having you come chat with us. I saw it was your birthday on the 13th, so happy belated birthday. August 13 is also my little sister's birthday, so it is a very special day to me.
Jeannette, nice having you in chat also! Love your avatar painting. I'm sorry you don't have a full-time job for this year, but hope the subbing and Jamberry nails will work out for you. Jamberrys are so cute - some of the teen girls at church wear them.
Cindy, what happened with the meat? That sounds like a good way to go long as you have a freezer and the power doesn't go off!
Well those of you on FB probably saw that I broke my foot yesterday. Yay. On Friday I went up to our Baptist conference center because the SC Baptist ladies choir that I sing with had their annual retreat to work on music for the following year. Walking to breakfast Saturday morning I stumbled on a rock (wearing heels too high for a place like that), nearly fell but didn't, and my foot turned under. I didn't realize right away that anything was wrong (other than being embarrassed ). As the day went on my foot began swelling and bruising, however the worsening pain was the main clue that something bad was wrong. A girlfriend had gone up there with me in my car, so we left a little early and she loaded me into the back seat, propped me up with an ice pack, and drove me back to town straight to Urgent Care where I was x-rayed and diagnosed. They put me in one of those clumsy orthopedic boots and are sending me to an orthopedist sometime this week.
It goes without saying... who EVER has time for something like this? Nobody does! Daniel starts school this week; John will be traveling some; Timothy is working and I never know if or when he'll be here. Our community play (that some of us at church do) starts this Thursday for two weekends in a row - 6 shows. I'm in the orchestra, and we have rehearsals every night this week except Wednesday (and we'll probably practice a little then anyway). We have company coming both weekends to see the play. Well the second weekend is my parents and they aren't technically company, but still I get things ready as if they are. Of course my mother, wonderful person that she is, offered to come immediately and help out but I said no, I should be okay. However this morning reality is setting in so I sent her an SOS because, guess what, I really DO need her help! Also, you know when you feel bad, there's nobody like mom.
So, prayers for healing would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Now I'm going to hobble over to the piano and try to practice a little.

Leigh, sorry to hear that your broke you foot, I will be saying prayers for you and everyone here at chat. What a lovely mother you have that can come to your home and help you. Do you know how long it will take for your foot to heal? Let us know here how things are going and if you will be able to make it to rehearsals to play in the orchestra. Seven, you share a birthday with inspector Clouseau?

My daughter and her 3 kids will be here for lunch on Wednesday. I'm going to fix taco salad, deviled eggs, fruit salad. Of course I'll bake oatmeal cookies that they can take home.
School starts next Monday for her kids and my son's little boy also.
It's a tad cooler here.
Hugs to all.

Yep we went and talked to them. I got part of it wrong. They offer you 200 pounds of meet (your choice of how much of what kinds) for $1,153.72 but they have you pay it by the month at about $88, although they give you all the meat right away. They also offer packages of 300 or 400 pounds of meat and smaller ones like for parties and things like that. We haven't made our decision about it yet though.
That's great you got zucchini. We did too! We're getting more strawberries from our little strawberry patch now again too.
Good to hear that all of you seem to be doing well... Love your avatar Jeanette. Cindy that meat offer sounds good... got to have a freezer though... :) Let us know how that goes! Didn't something happen when you went to that conference last year too Lorrie? It seems to me that I remember something happening.... can't remember what though. But if so, then maybe if you go next year you should plan on finding one place to sit and not getting up from there for the whole weekend LOL. Of course I'll be praying hon! You take care of yourself. I'm glad your Mom is coming to help you out too. Leigh, so sorry to hear about your foot. Hope it mends soon. Well I have to go work on bills and make phone calls and all that good stuff, and then actually spend time with my hubby as he's home today. Our anniversary was yesterday and he took Friday and today off work to celebrate it. We actually went out to eat yesterday and had a wonderful time! It's really the first time in 19 years that we've actually celebrated our anniversary in any way. Normally we haven't done anything. But he decided this one was special and wanted to do something nice. Who am I to argue? LOL

I went to the beach today. And do you know what that naughty ocean did? It smacked me right in the face and took my glasses away! I felt like a child. My sister had to drive me and even dial the phone. I went to a nice Optometrist named Dan Lee. He was at the Seabrook Walmart's Vision Center. He checked my vision and gave me a pair of contact lenses, so I could drive my car home. I have never worn them before today. It was fun having peripheral vision and seeing w/o my glasses. The trick was removing them. My eyes do not like to be touched. You can believe I was praying and praying for God to help me. It took many, many tries. Praying for you Leigh. And everyone. Love your sister in Jesus, Catt

Good morning!
Cindy that is good that you are still getting strawberries from your strawberry patch. I have heard that churches now days don't have baptismal tanks and don't baptize people anymore and also that people fly on airplanes to get to a another state where they know there is a church with a baptismal tank and they have talked to the pastor and can get baptized there and also that churches don't do alter calls anymore. I didn't know that.

"Catt, sounds like you had a fun day on the beach at the ocean. I had a dream this morning that I was walking toward a beach to look at the ocean but I woke up before I got to the beach."
