Tomorrow night Friday the 31st there will be what is called a Blue Moon. This only happens once every 3 years and the moon will look to be the color gray. We've been out tonight and I haven't noticed anything different about the moon, so need to go look again! This reminds me that a few years ago our computer password was bluemoon. I don't know how we came up with that, but the boys were forever trying to 'crack the code' so they could get online without our permission (this was when Timothy was a young teenager and Daniel elementary school age). I don't remember how, but they finally figured it out and they thought that was an odd password! (Of course we lectured them on how it's dishonest to try and break the code when we had it there for their protection, and promptly changed the password. ) Cindy, hope you had a good time shopping with Jenn and the children and I agree, it IS tiring shopping with children!! Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Children and their code cracking. lol My niece once did some code cracking into some Air Force base. Two military men came to my brother's home and knocked on the door and my brother talked to them, then everything was OK. Is Timothy still living in CA?

Oh my!! Did your niece MEAN to do that?!?! I guess she did... something like that couldn't be accidental, I don't guess! Thanks for asking about Timothy; he is set to return to SC on Tuesday. He's had a great time out in Sacramento! It's been a bit of a culture shock but he's young so it's okay.

Before I forget yet again, I wanted to come and let you all know that Mark's in the hospital again concerning his leg and it may have to be amputated, so please pray for him!
I've meant to tell you all that for the last few days and have wound up forgetting to every time, so wanted to write this first so it wouldn't slip my mind again. Although how in the world it could slip my mind, is something I haven't been able to figure out.
That would have been scary having the military come out because your child broke into their code!
I remember those days too, when the kids would try and break passwords lol. Blue moon was a good one! Whenever I hear about a blue moon it reminds me of when I first learned there really was a blue moon. I'd always thought it was just an expression for something that was impossible till this happened. I don't remember the conversation any longer as it was so long ago, but I guess I told someone that my book was being published. All I remember is that they laughed and said that I'd get published the day there was a blue moon. Obviously, they didn't believe that I could write a book and get it published . What's funny about it is that my publisher wrote to tell me the date my book would come off the press for the first time which of course was very exciting to me so I had it on my calendar. The night before my big day, I was watching the news and they reported that the next night was the night of the blue moon and explained what it was. I was totally shocked and thought God had a great sense of humor! So whoever it was that told me I'd get published when there was a blue moon, was actually completely right!
That's really nice that your grandkids come over to help with house and yard work Margie! Bless their hearts!
I'm glad to hear Timothy will be home in a couple more days too Lorrie. I'm sure you'll feel better when he's safe back home again!
How are you doing Lulu? I haven't heard from you all week practically. I hope all's going well and that you're not having to work a lot of extra long hours.
Speaking of extra work, that's what Bruce is doing right now. He's working a dry wall job a friend got him, which will help since we're still without a car.
The kids were going to come over yesterday but Jenn wound up hurting her knee so badly that I sent her to the ER. She's in a brace now. It looks like a cast actually and covers a large part of her leg. They wanted her on crutches and didn't understand when she kept telling them she couldn't use them, till she finally explained yet again that she has cerebral palsy and can't support herself with her right side. They're coming over today though, so I'm going to see if either my wheelchair or my walker would be helpful to her. She's been using her desk chair to scoot around on as it's on wheels. Since they're in an apartment, that may be better then the wheel chair .... I don't know. I figured she could try it out and see what she thought... or maybe just put the wheel chair in the car to use when they went somewhere.
We're going to have our favorite summer time meal today, so we're all looking forward to that. It's Bacon Pasta Salad and is so yummy! It's just rotini pasta, cooked, chopped up bacon, green onions, diced tomato, and shredded lettuce mixed together with mayo or in our case, miracle whip. It's served cold and is sooooo good! It tastes a lot better then it sounds lol. It's funny because when I made it last year for the first time, I didn't think I'd get Bruce to even try it, but thanks to Elijah and Grace, he finally did, and even he loved it! He had two huge helpings and would have had more cept it was all gone by then So I'm making extra this time. But of course, he doesn't remember it and has been making faces ever since we told him what we were having. I keep telling him he loved it last time, but I don't think he believes me.
Well, let me go check and see what's been going on. Sorry I haven't been here much, but really haven't been feeling well. I'm still not, but am trying to just keep on keeping on. Oh yeah, I want to write about what I found in Nahum today too, so I'd better get going!
Hope everyone has a good day!

Praying for Mark.
Leigh, Good to read that Timothy will be back in SC Tuesday. Yes Margaret my niece tried code cracking on purpose. Her mother was the "man of the house" instead of my brother. She did not believe in any disciplining of the children, my brother did, but the children were purposely not taught discipline, because the mother believed it was bad for their self confidence.
Cindy I will have to try that bacon pasta salad, I have never tried mixing shredded lettuce with pasta etc. I like pasta, I always make macaroni and cheese, I try eat more rice, but I prefer the mac and cheese. Today I am making lentil burgers, since I don't eat meat, except for eggs. For the bacon in the recipe you wrote, I have soy flavored bacon bits to use instead of real bacon. I hope my lentil burgers to replace hamburger tastes good. It takes a little getting used to but I am already used to replacements for meat. Ron knows a guy named Tom that lives and works near here and he fell about a year ago and hurt his knee. He went to the hospital emergency room and had a long wait to be seen, many hours in pain and no food to eat and he ended up having a heart attack while waiting to be seen by a doctor. Finally when he was seen by a doctor they just gave him aspirin and sent him home. He rested at home and his knee slowly felt better.

Anna, that's terrible how they treated that man! (or rather how they didn't treat him!) The whole world has gone insane!
The pasta salad is really good, I'm sure you'll like it. Bruce loved it yet again this time too LOL
Hi James, good to see you!
Just running in to say hi, because I slept the morning away. Sorry about that guys....

home this morning...Ron has an eye doctors appointment in which they put that stuff in your eyes, So I need to be the driver... then we are gonna try to go and see our Chiropractor Dr. Naiz, THEN Ron has yet another doctors appointment with our regular doctor... this is our last month with insurance...Ron's company can no longer afford to pay for it..so we are trying to go through my employer now. I've got appointments lined up in a few months, now the game is to see if we can keep the same doctors....ugh... welcome to national health care....ugh...but I thank the Lord we are healthy thus far. Ron got a clean bill of health from the heart doctor... and we are both loosing weight... talked to the Lord this morning on my walk with boy, there's so much to pray about and people to pray for it's almost overwhelming, by the time I'm home I'm in tears....Mace looks at me like, *what did I do wrong mom* poor boy...

I love the pictures Lulu! It looks like great fun! When my youngest son was in third grade, they had a field trip to the circus and Christopher got picked to go on stage with some of the acts. He was so excited! I still remember when my parents took me to see the circus and I just loved it!
I know what you mean about feeling overwhelmed at the number of people who need serious prayer. I've been feeling like that for the last couple of years now.
That's wonderful news about Ron getting the all clear from the doctors! I'm sure that's a big relief for you guys!
I've been sleeping a lot. Not during the day, but sleeping late in the morning no matter what time I go to bed. I'm sure I need it, but I also wish I could get back to waking up by 6 at least. Bruce is working a second job this week that a friend got him. So when he gets off work at his first job, he goes to the second job. He hasn't been getting home till 7pm and is totally exhausted by then of course. I sure hope he will be finished with it by the end of the week, or even sooner. I know we need the money, but I really hate to see him working so much and so hard.
I'm really hoping to get to spend more time with you guys here, starting today. So let me go see what's been going on and start posting.

Good morning everyone! I might have to end this abruptly any minute, so let me start right in real quick. Lulu, love the circus pictures. Looks like a wonderful time and I know the girls enjoyed themselves. When we return home I want to look at each pic separately and enlarge it, but where we are right now the internet is too slow (already tried). Thanks for posting them. So sorry you'll be losing Ron's insurance... hope it all works out with your company's insurance. Glad for the good report on his heart, and hope for a good one from the eye doctor also. What is the latest update on Mark? Cindy, have you been in contact with him? We are on vacation this week. We left home last Friday night and detoured through Georgia for my great-aunt's funeral on Saturday morning, then we drove on into Nashville that night and have been here all week. Timothy arrived home from California last night after a 12-hour day of travel: Sacramento to LA to Atlanta to Columbia, where he arrived at midnight. I asked how he likes flying and he said he likes it, just not that much in one day! As I mentioned last week, my family had the honor of meeting Cheryl yesterday! We drove up and she drove down and we met at Cracker Barrel for lunch (just like Dogstaff and I did last year when she came through Columbia.... I guess we should make CB the place for Fresh-Hopers to meet! ). Wish Ed could've been there also, but it is difficult for him to travel. Anyway, Cheryl posted several pictures on FB and I took some shots too, but last time I tried getting on Photobucket to post a picture in here, couldn't make it work. Cheryl was a delight to meet and lots of fun to visit with, AND she brought four huge jars of things she'd canned, plus home-grown cukes and tomatoes from her garden. Can't wait to dig in!! Okay the guys are waiting on me to decide what we're doing today, so better get going. Talk to you later.

Cindy, I made the bacon pasta salad today, that is good. With the left over ingredients I will make tostadas, since I have refried beans, salsa and cheese for that.

I'm slowly working around the flower beds to get all the weeds out since they're competing for water.

I'm slowly working around the flower beds to get all the weeds out since they're competing for water. Thank you Margie, it was definitely the highlight of my week! OH, and I put the wrong number up there of her delicious canned goods -- she gave us SIX jars, not four. Can't wait to dive into them!! Hope you're not over-doing it out in your flower beds. It is hot even here. Timothy posted on FB that he'd forgotten about the heat AND humidity in SC and he's trying to get re-acclimated to that. I know it's bad for you in TX also. Anna and Cindy, that bacon pasta salad sounds delicious! Well today we leave Nashville and head east.

Hi everyone! I'm glad you enjoyed the bacon pasta salad Anna, we have too.
That's wonderful you were able to get together with Cheryl Lorrie. I did see the picture you posted of her and she looks great! Sadly, when looking for the other pictures, I just discovered that she removed herself from my friends list so I can't see anything she posts. Hopefully, she'll reconsider.
No, I haven't heard anything else from Mark since he told me that they may have to amputate his leg. I'm just praying that the Lord will intervene and remove the infection so that won't have to happen.
I was really surprised at all the great threads that Daniel and others have been posting lately! The Lord is really moving things right along. It won't be long now, that's for sure!
I sure wish the rest of our family would come and fellowship though. I miss so many of them. But I guess they just don't have time anymore. that's really sad because now's when we need each other more then ever.

Cindy, I know, I miss everyone too. And you and Anna are right, Daniel is posting some great articles here for us, as you are Cindy, with everything you write. Thank you both. I'm sorry I can't keep up and read everything, but I pop in and out as I have time throughout the days and read an article here and there. But EVERY post is appreciated.
Cindy, as always, I thank you for everything you do here at Fresh-Hope, for all these years. I've never been an admin or moderator on a website before, but imagine it takes a HUGE amount of behind-the-scenes work to keep it all going. I'm glad you were able to see the one pic I posted; I tried posting a second one and in fact I did it twice and thought it went through, but neither time it 'took.' I don't know why and will keep trying (this is on FB - Anna, I know you can't see it there, so maybe I can try emailing it to you, but it might not be until the weekend).

You're such a sweetheart Lorrie, and you too Anna, thank you! I know you can't read everything, and I honestly don't expect anyone to. I just try to remind people that there's good stuff available so they can look through to find what interests them.
I'll try and look at facebook tonight if I can. I just don't have much time to be on there.
Jenn's taking me grocery shopping again today, so I'm going to have to get moving soon and get ready. It seems to be an "all day" trip when I go with her and the kids lol We often don't get home till after supper time.
I just finished Zephaniah today and boy was it amazing! I wrote about it yesterday in God’s warnings for today. God is just so amazing....it always blows me away when He shows me more about His plan for Israel and how in some things it's a snapshot of what He's already done for us.
Well, I'd better get busy if I want to post anything before I have to get ready to leave. Have a good day everyone!

(((Cindy))), thank you! Have you always been this prolific in your writing? I'm amazed at how much you are able to study and then write essays about... without having a cook and housekeeper to keep everything else going on the home front!
I did read and comment on "God's warnings for today." Sometimes I feel bad because I don't always know what to say.... or maybe there is a LOT to say, but not the time to process it mentally and write it out in a way that makes sense. So, just know that even when there's not much discussion, the articles are still helpful to whoever reads them.
Hope you were able to get your shopping done and had a nice time with Jenn and the children.
Did anybody watch the GOP debates on Thursday night? We missed the 'originals,' but have been seeing the replays and commentary. I thought all of them did well and would take ANY of them over what we have now!
Well, getting ready to head home to SC today; I can't wait! I'm ready to see Timothy, unpack and wash our clothes, and dig into the veggies Cheryl brought us! Hope to be home by late this afternoon, so talk to you all later.

Honestly Lorrie, I really don't get a lot done besides studying and writing about what I studied. I always seem to have to rush to just get the major things done afterward lol. But to me this is most important, and I just can't bring myself to spend less time in His Word. I'm glad you were able to read that one. I hope you liked it. I'll go check in a minute. Praying you get home safe!
If anyone thinks of it over the weekend and Monday, my family could sure use some prayer... both Jennifer and I are having financial problems, and Michelle has a court date coming up for Maddie's adoption which begins on Monday. There's been some major setbacks, so we're really counting on the Lord to intervene and make things right. Consequently, we'd appreciate any prayers you can spare the time for. Thank you all so much!
Now, speaking of not getting anything done around the house LOL
PS. I replied to you on that thread Lorrie...

Still really hot here, but I'm going to turn on the oven and make chocolate chip cookies anyway. My son will be here tomorrow and chocolate chip is his favorite.
He's going to help us with a few things around the house too.

Hello, Cindy saying prayers. Leigh, I have a new e-mail address, I will pm that to you. We had a problem with our water here for about a week but now everything is back to normal. I've heard it is always good for people to have extra bottled water on hand, so I did have that which was good because I needed it.
Bucky wants to put some horses over here for us to watch. I say no and Ron says yes, so Bucky keeps asking Ron, as nice as they are to have around they are also a problem to have around. They are friendly but they break down fences, and keeping water for them and I am not paid anything for having them here. They used to go for nice walks with me, then if I was stuck in the middle of them and they all heard some noise, they would get jumpy and buck, I guess only a person that owns them understands their different personalities. Oh and Bucky and his wife do not talk to me, only Ron. Ron easily chats away with them and they ignore me. Ron and I have different personalities. It has always been that way with us, someone that like him doesn't like me and someone that likes me doesn't like him. Well I have some outdoors work to do before it get to warm outside, which it already is anyways, when it come to working outside.
