I enjoyed reading what you wrote, thank you! Can we look at that last verse you wrote about again though: “For a complete destruction, one that is decreed, Lord Yahweh of hosts will do in the midst of the whole land.” (Isaiah 10:23) MacArthur says that Paul used this verse in Ro 9:28. “For the Lord will carry out his sentence on earth with speed and finality.”” (Romans 9:28) Here's how the Legacy Bible and the NASB translate it: FOR THE LORD WILL EXECUTE HIS WORD ON THE LAND, THOROUGHLY AND QUICKLY.” Let's look at this in context, using the NIV: “Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved. For the Lord will carry out his sentence on earth with speed and finality.” It is just as Isaiah said previously: “Unless the Lord Almighty had left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah.”” (Romans 9:27–29) Looking at this, I don't think the verse in Isaiah is speaking about God destroying the earth. I think it's speaking about how all those who are not saved will be destroyed.

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD of hosts, "O My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear the Assyrian who strikes you with the rod and lifts up his staff against you, the way Egypt did. Isaiah 10:24
What is wonderful about this verse are the words: MY people. They are His!
Much can go wrong in the world, but if you belong to God, you know in the end ( of the trials and tribulations in this life will end)... and, the beginning of the rest of 'forever', will be blessed beyond our imagination)
Further, God says: Do not fear! What words of comfort... even in the trails, hurts, pains, tribulations etc. of life.
God tells us this ( do not fear) throughout scripture... starting in Genesis:
After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you; Your reward shall be very great.” Genesis 15:1
God tells us to not fear,: all the way thru the Bible, to Revelation:
‘Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. Revelation 2:10
Judgment, correction, trials, pain, are all coming but God was with them.
God is also, with His children today.
John MacArthur has said: In our country, Judgment is not 'coming' to our country, it is already here!!!
It would be so easy to be: afraid, depressed, discouraged, sad, overwhelmed, etc. But God is also, with His believers, here in our time.
Yes, judgment is generally painful and hurtful, because, when things were way easier, people stray off the straight and narrow path and then, they refused to get back on track with gentle pleading... and so, that is the point, when pain must be applied! Better pain now, then eternally, in the future.
The Jews suffered under Egypt's oppression, but God delivered them out of it, and He promises to do so again ( and Again)!
I can no longer count the times, God has delivered me out of scary, frightening, trials... right up to a few days ago...
and yet, I mostly, still, continue to fail to remember, while in the trial, all the many times God came to my rescue.
Tho, I do now, mostly, remember... sometimes i will start to remember his deliverance, in the middle of a trial, when God has sent help, right before my eyes. I know the changes of that being some random accident, diminishes the more times it has happened... and it has happened a LOT!!!
This does NOT mean, God is beholden to us ( like the fairy tale genii in a bottle). He does not HAVE to rescue us...ever!
But He often chooses to do so.
Still, if he does not and we must die, we are in fact, more greatly rescued, because, we will be with Him forever, in a life without pain, evil etc. and it will be wonderful beyond our imagination.
Lord help us to remember your great mercy and power.
And so, there is this verse:
For in a very little while My indignation against you will be spent and My anger will be directed to their destruction. Isaiah 10:25
God actually explains what He is doing. Yes, God is angry ( thus indignation). While God is angry, we need to know His anger will end, and deliverance will come at some time in the future. In the meantime, we can pray.
But also, those tormenting us, will eventually experience destruction. ( as will, also, Satan and his demons).

I know what you mean about not always remembering that we can trust God and that we don't have to try and figure out a way to manipulate people or situations to make things come out the way we want them to. I think the secret of that is to really realize that this world and everything in it, is just an illusion. It's not real! Yes, God created it and He created us, but both have been totally disfigured by sin, so it no longer resembles what it once did. Most of all, Satan has made everything here into an illusion. We're even warned about that here: “And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.” (2 Corinthians 11:14–15) All this so called "fake news" is just another illusion, but then so is the so called "real news". It's all an illusion to make this world look good to us, to make this life look good so we won't want to give it up for a life with the Lord. Think of how many of us see a beautiful house and think how much we'd love to have a house like that. I know I used to do that all the time. Not anymore though. I asked the Lord to help me to see the truth and to only want a life with Him and He has. So now when I see a beautiful house, I laugh because I realize that the houses in New Jerusalem and on the new earth, will make that house look like a dump! Why would I want to save up gold, or even have any at all, after all, it's just pavement! The more we focus on truth, God, and our eternal inheritance and eternity, the more we'll let go of this life and look forward to our departure and being with Jesus. It's one of the reasons I love David Telbat's books, especially the last ones he's written about sex trafficking. He really shows the truth in them.

Wow! That was a really powerful post. I am sure for at least a moment, even some believers seeing Satan as an angel of light, might be in awe. But like you said, it's just an illusion, he is no longer a true angel of God's light. He was, at one time, for a short time.... but he is not any more, he is a fake and an extremely evil dangerous eternal fake.
It is funny you mentioned a beautiful home, because this very day, I was looking at some "Islands owned by Google co-founder Larry Page: owns two private islands in the Virgin Islands...They are just two of the four private islands the software tycoon has purchased since cashing in on Google". I looked at the two island photos...very pretty, and one had a girl splashing in pristine aqua blue waters.
And my first thought was: I suppose some folks would think this would be so wonderful.... but no, they are deceived, it is nothing compared to eternity with Jesus.
And then I read this.

The LORD of hosts will arouse a scourge against him like the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb; and His staff will be over the sea and He will lift it up the way He did in Egypt. Isaiah 10:26
It's important to remember past Divine deliverances.
God is able to defeat any human army ( even today, no matter how great we think our technology is, or how greatly we are deceived, thinking we have made an AI God ( talk about idols)!
Still it is uplifting for believers to remember how God has protected and delivered us in the past.
The slaughter of Midian, where Gideon's small army was victorous over the hordes of Midianites. God also produced another miracle destroying Pharaoh's army.
So it will be in that day, that his burden will be removed from your shoulders and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be broken because of fatness Isaiah 10:27
In 'that' day, God will remove the yoke of oppression of Assyria from Judah.
He has come against Aiath, He has passed through Migron; At Micmash he deposited his baggage. Isaiah 10:28
This tells of the Assyrian advance but this is how far they got... they did go thru cities of Judah.
They have gone through the pass, saying, "Geba will be our lodging place." Ramah is terrified, and Gibeah of Saul has fled away. Isaiah 10:29
The Assyrians did a steady march towards Jerusalem and came close.
Cry aloud with your voice, O daughter of Gallim! Pay attention, Laishah and wretched Anathoth! Isaiah 10:30
Some more cities and villages they went thru.
Madmenah has fled. The inhabitants of Gebim have sought refuge. Isaiah 10:31
They 'seem' unstoppable!
What seems unstoppable in our lives today?

So what happened to the seemingly 'unstoppable' marauding forces of the Assyrians?
Yet today he will halt at Nob; He shakes his fist at the mountain of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem. Isaiah 10:32
They were 'STOPPED' by God, at Nob... this was the end of the road for them.
The way ships, and planes and cars etc. are personified as a woman, the people of a city ( also personified as a woman), are her daughter.
I guess this was a grave blow to the Assyrian leader. In fact this is what is in store for their arrogance:
Behold, the Lord, the GOD of hosts, will lop off the boughs with a terrible crash; Those also who are tall in stature will be cut down and those who are lofty will be abased. Isaiah 10:33
'Behold', any people, who are afraid, look at this what God can do, if and when He chooses.
The so called 'mighty' unstoppable Assyria is about to have an abrupt fall from power! God is going to humble this overbearing prideful, haughty, arrogant people.
This reminds me to check my pride... the only person I will boast in is the Lord...
Not that God does not give some great gifts to some folk, we can acknowledge that, but at the same time, we must always keep in mind where those gifts came from!

He will cut down the thickets of the forest with an iron axe, and Lebanon will fall by the Mighty One Isaiah 10:34
The bigger they are the harder they will fall, especially if God is the one doing the cutting down to size! God is the Assyrian "defoliation" woodsman! Their savage malice will be overruled by God!
The Mighty One, God, the Lord, has spoken, And summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting. Psalm 50:1
Speaking of the Mighty One:
Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse and a branch from his roots will bear fruit. Isaiah 11:1
God's plan for Israel's future.
We look at the coming KING, who He is First and 2nd coming. (chiefly His second coming).
He comes from the remnant of Jessie's family, (the line of David).
The giant Assyrian tree fell, but this 'root', springing up, is all powerful and eternal.
So there will be a regrowth of Israel... the stump... a small remnant of Israel, not completely destroyed, that the Messiah comes from.
I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star. Revelation 22:16
It seemed Israel was dead, but no, God had preserved the line throughout history, that would lead to the Messiah.
For there is hope for a tree, When it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And its shoots will not fail. Job 14:7
Which of course bring to mind this:
4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing" John 15:4,5

You got ahead of me lol. I enjoyed all of your posts, thanks so much for sharing what you've learned! Isn't it neat how the Lord works, showing us the same things at times? I've noticed it many times back on our old board, when I'd write about something and then would post something from other teachers/pastors and see that they'd written about the same topic.

More about the Messiah
The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. Isaiah 11:2
In this verse I see 7 characteristics:
1) The Spirit 2) wisdom 3) understand 4) counsel 5) strength 6) knowledge 7) and the fear of the Lord
After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him Matthew 3:16
and
And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men Luke 2:52
Jesus (being God) understands all things Jesus gives perfect counsel to us Jesus as God is all powerful.
Jesus as God knows everything.. but we His creatures, do not, and therefore, we sometimes think He has made a mistake or error.
and in His first coming Jesus submitted to God the Father, so therefore He will do as this verse.
And He will delight in the fear of the LORD, and He will not judge by what His eyes see, nor make a decision by what His ears hear. Isaiah 11:3
He was pleased to do God, the Father's will.
Jesus had ( and has) perfect supernatural perception, He does not judge by looks, but knows the heart of man.
He knew what they were thinking..... Luke 6:8

More about Jesus during His 2nd coming millennial reign:
But with righteousness He will judge the poor, and decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth; and He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked. Isaiah 11:4
As God Jesus knows all men's hearts, He sees the truth and no lie can fool Him. Therefore He will be a righteous Judge.
Justice throughout history has often been perverted against the poor and afflicted...then and now.
The rod/sword represents the Word of God.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God Ephesians 6:17
and
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
He is:
And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Revelation 19:16
He will have absolute power and authority.
You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware. Psalm 2:9
Also
Also righteousness will be the belt about His loins, and faithfulness the belt about His waist Isaiah 11:5
Not only that, but the millennial kingdom, will have this kind of peace also:
And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little boy will lead them. Isaiah 11:6
I think this might have been like it was in the garden of Eden, before sin and death enter.... the way God intended it to be.
In today's world, these 3 listed carnivorous predators hunt, kill and eat these 3 prey.
The world clamors for 'peace' and they try to force it, in every way possible... even some ways that are somewhat commendable, but cannot and do not work
except.. the ONLY way it 'will' happen: is by the Prince of Peace, Jesus.
Even the animals will be changed back to peaceful creatures.
I remember listening to Dr. Jason Lisle and he said something to the effect, that before the fall ( sin and death), even the dinosaurs and dragons, were peaceful.

More about the millennial kingdom Of Jesus.
The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper's den. Isaiah 11:8
In our world today, no one who loved their infant, would ever place it by the whole of a cobra, the baby would die!
But when Jesus returns what are deadly poisonous snakes will no longer be a threat to even a baby.
If God can make snakes, but then, when the whole universe, was tainted with sin, and some snakes are now deadly, Still, when Jesus comes back, He can restore and reverse the damage (even to snakes).
But not just snakes, all dangerous beasts, reptiles and the like.
They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. Isaiah 11:9
God owns the universe He made, so He surely owns His Holy mountain: Jerusalem.
Also people will know the knowledge of the Lord. And blessed be His glorious name forever; And may the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen, and Amen. Psalm 72:19
and
They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the Lord, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more. Jeremiah 31:34
Water actually covers most of the earth, and so, the comparison:
the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea
This is short, because I am always super tired after busy Sundays, plus, we had 2 days of 93 degrees here... basically unheard of any time here on the coast, and in May???!!!! That just drained me no end. Plus little sleep and a flare up.
Prayfully, tomorrow will be more meaty.

Yep, I'm just about to catch up with you. I'll finish chapter 10 and start chapter 11 tomorrow.
I can't wait to see what Jesus does in regard to snakes, and bugs and other yucky things! I wonder if He will get rid of some entirely, or if He will just make them so they won't hurt anyone. (and make the people not afraid of them) Cause nice or not, I still won't want mice or rats or snakes etc in my room in God's house!

Interesting thought.... I don't like snakes, hornets, wasps, ( but honey bees and bumblebees are okay), mosquitoes, spiders,
I don't want mice and rats mostly because they are 'dirty' in that
they poop everywhere, carry bad diseases, too many mice-lets etc.
but... they can be cute actually ( I have seen people's pet mice and they do seem cute-ish)
Whereas,
I cannot ever imagine seeing any hornet, wasp, or spider ... ever as 'cute' on any level whatsoever...
But I am sure Jesus can and will take care of that problem in some way, that we all will be happy, joy-filled, praising Him etc.
Oh! and no
alligators, or crocs
centipedes and millipedes
Scorpions
and the list goes on!!

Here comes another: In that day... for us to ponder what day is that?
( It reminds me of the many: Therefore for us to ask :) what is the There...for?)
Then in that day the nations will resort to the Root of Jesse, Who will stand as a Signal for the peoples and His resting place will be glorious. Isaiah 11:10
So the first word in this verse is: 'Then', which shows a passing of time.
and next we have God's Words: 'In that day'
Well, Isaiah has been talking about Jesus 2nd coming, and His ruling in the peace filled, millennial ( 1000 years) kingdom. So it is that 'day'....
All the people of the world will be rallying to Jesus, because after all Jesus is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He is our banner: Jehovah Nissi: He goes before us in spiritual battles.
When He came the 1st time, the angel told Mary:
He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. Luke 1:32
However, Jesus was rejected as King the 1st time, He came, so this is a future, yet to be fulfilled, prophecy.
His resting place will be glorious because He is there!
I did not sleep at all last night and only 2 1/2 hours the night before...so I keep falling asleep, and I am afraid I will mess up if I try to keep ahead of you haha
Soooo I admit defeat... sigh
It's good for me, because I do have a 'wee' bit of a competitive streak... so humble pie, is what I need to cure it!!
( I know... it's not really a contest!!!!!
see.. I get silly and sillier, the more sleep deprived I am :).

I totally agree with your list too!
I prefer the NIV translation of Isaiah 11:10 better, it's easier to understand: “In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious.” (Isaiah 11:10) But I think you did a great job of explaining it!

We have these words again: Then and on that day
Then it will happen on that day that the Lord will again recover the second time with His hand the remnant of His people, who will remain, from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. Isaiah 11:11
Well I already know that day, in these verses, refer to when Jesus will return the 2nd time.
His people, the Jews have always been His people, so, I am not sure, but 'perhaps 'this is also for us who have been grafted in ( the believers.)
Nevertheless, it is for the Jews for sure.
'Recovered', has to do with buying them back and points to the 'first time' which was: God's deliverance of Israel from Egypt.
But this second time, Jesus will gather them from all over the earth where they have been dispersed.
'the remnant of Israel': a small group of God's people, because God will never forsake the Abrahamic Covenant.
This next verse, clarifies it is for Israel:
And He will lift up a standard for the nations and assemble the banished ones of Israel, and will gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. Isaiah 11:12
God can do this because he is all powerful, all knowing, infinite, eternal, etc.
For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery— so that you will not be wise in your own estimation— that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; 26 and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written Romans 11:25,26
so now we see about the rest of the people who are not Jewish:
And although Israel plays a major role in the Millennium, God is not finished with the Gentiles, as He: "He will lift up a standard for the nations"
only Gentiles declared righteous by King Jesus, will be allowed into the millennial kingdom's beginning.
The 4 corners, do not mean a 'flat' earth, rather the four main compass directions (North,East,South,West)

Another 'THEN' indicating time
Then the jealousy of Ephraim will depart, and those who harass Judah will be cut off; Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, and Judah will not harass Ephraim. Isaiah 11:13
THEN' will be the Millennial kingdom.
Ephraim: the ten tribes of the Northern Kingdom. The jealousy of Ephraim had been going on for a long time. and likewise Judah's hostility to Ephraim But now there will be reconciliation between the two nations, lead by God.
They will swoop down on the slopes of the Philistines on the west; Together they will plunder the sons of the east; They will possess Edom and Moab, and the sons of Ammon will be subject to them. Isaiah 11:14
Together they will be free of foreign oppression, and the countries listed, will be under the jurisdiction of the reunited Israel... who will be the most powerful nation in the world.
Which makes me wonder if maybe on some level, many counties, and people fear this, and ( besides they have been God's chosen for so long)
that adds greatly to the anti-semitism to this very day? ( which seems to be getting worse)
And the LORD will utterly destroy the tongue of the Sea of Egypt; and He will wave His hand over the river with His scorching wind; and He will strike it into seven streams and make men walk over dry-shod Isaiah 11:15
Jesus will remove various obstacles so His people can return to the promised land. Things like, the Gulf of Suez will be dried up and the great Euphrates River will become dry. Reminiscent of what God did with the Red Sea.
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, 22 and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground.. Exodus 14:21–22
and during the tribulation
The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east. Revelation 16:12
And so
And there will be a highway from Assyria for the remnant of His people who will be left, just as there was for Israel In the day that they came up out of the land of Egypt. Isaiah 11:16
They are going to have a smooth road to walk on, in safety.

I can say this verse, along with Isaiah and the Jews:
Then you will say on that day, "I will give thanks to You, O LORD for although You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me. Isaiah 12:1
Who really would not feel thankful? And thrilled to obtain godly compassion and comfort?
'Then' ...time will have passed. 'On that day'...in the millennium, when Jesus has returned...
this is what regathered Israel will sing: praises of Thanksgiving.
Each individual will be thankful: "You will say.... I will give thanks.."
And tho this verse is about Israel, I 'think' we ( the church) believers of today, can 'apply' it, to our own thankfulness.
I suspect, we will sing along with Israel in those days.
We have to keep in mind, God is not finished with Israel, the church has NOT replaced her in His heart. He can love us both. And many Jews will have come to the truth that Jesus IS their Messiah!
It is important not to read the Bible with the idea:
"What does this mean....to me (i.e. and interpret the meaning, only from how I 'feel' about it, or what I think it means to me) etc.
Rather than: What does the Bible actually say.
Some people have a problem that God is angry, or has been angry, or will be angry....
They say: But God is LOVE, how can He then be 'angry'?
God's anger is a 'perfect' anger
( humans that get angry, never get angry, from 'perfect' anger).
God's anger is based on Justice, His Holiness, and, His mercy ( and love). God's anger is never unfair, unjust, sinful etc.
And let us never forget, God the Father's anger, was poured out on Jesus.
Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity And passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in unchanging love. Micah 7:18

Sorry I couldn't be here yesterday. We had to take Chris to another hospital to see a doctor there. Thanks to the Lord, his liver is stable enough now that they can do surgery for the two hernias. But first we have to go to yet another hospital to try and find a surgeon that will perform the surgery. So far the surgeons at two hospitals have refused. They're afraid he will bleed out on the table and don't want to be the one to have that happen.
I love the part about the highway you spoke about. I'd like to add the previous verse to yours so we can see some of what the Lord is going to do to make that highway: “The LORD will dry up the gulf of the Egyptian sea; with a scorching wind he will sweep his hand over the Euphrates River. He will break it up into seven streams so that men can cross over in sandals. There will be a highway for the remnant of his people that is left from Assyria, as there was for Israel when they came up from Egypt.” (Isaiah 11:15–16)
It reminds me of how God dried up made it so the Jews could walk across the Red sea when they were returning from Egypt. But God has another reason for drying up the Euphrates: “The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.” (Revelation 16:12) So first He will dry it up so that all the people who hate Him that live in the east, can join in the battle of Armageddon. Than of course, our magnificent Lord will end that war by speaking His Word and all who hate Him will die when He returns. Next it will be clean up time as our Lord will have to repair the earth since by then it will be almost totally uninhabitable. He will also have to judge the people who lived through the Tribulation too. Plus He will have to remake Jerusalem too, which will include changing the topography so that His Temple will be higher than anything else and Jerusalem will be the most magnificent city of all. I'm sure He could do all that and more just by speaking a word, but instead He has chosen to allow all of us to help Him. Therefore it will take us about 30 days to set things up for the Millennial Kingdom. (Daniel 12:7 and Daniel 12:11). It's going to be so exciting!!! I'd like to share some more scriptures that tell us more about this highway: “And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it. No lion will be there, nor will any ferocious beast get up on it; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there, and the ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.” (Isaiah 35:8–10) Can you see that happening in your imagination? What a wonderful day it will be! “I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.” (Isaiah 42:16) This too reminds me of how the Lord God led them out of Egypt, only this time He won't be a cloud or fire, He will be Jesus in the flesh! When He led them out of Egypt, they were like we are now - sinful. But when He leads them to Jerusalem this time, they will be saved and have new pure hearts of love for Him! “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19) Yes! Only God Himself could do all of this. No amount of man power could do it. Oh, we could make a road, sure, but we couldn't make that road to supply all the people's needs like Jesus will do, and we couldn't change the hearts and souls of the people who will walk on it. Only Jesus can do all that! “Leave Babylon, flee from the Babylonians! Announce this with shouts of joy and proclaim it. Send it out to the ends of the earth; say, “The LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob.” They did not thirst when he led them through the deserts; he made water flow for them from the rock; he split the rock and water gushed out.” (Isaiah 48:20–21) No one will get thirsty walking on that highway. They won't want for water or the Lord! “This is what the LORD says: “In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances, to say to the captives, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Be free!’ “They will feed beside the roads and find pasture on every barren hill. They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat upon them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water. I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be raised up. See, they will come from afar— some from the north, some from the west, some from the region of Aswan.” Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.” (Isaiah 49:8–13) He will call them home from every part of the remade earth and keep them safe, and supply their needs as He leads them on that highway. Maybe some of us will be with Him! “And it will be said: “Build up, build up, prepare the road! Remove the obstacles out of the way of my people.”” (Isaiah 57:14) “Pass through, pass through the gates! Prepare the way for the people. Build up, build up the highway! Remove the stones. Raise a banner for the nations. The LORD has made proclamation to the ends of the earth: “Say to the Daughter of Zion, ‘See, your Savior comes! See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.’ ” They will be called the Holy People, the Redeemed of the LORD; and you will be called Sought After, the City No Longer Deserted.” (Isaiah 62:10–12)

Great infomation!!! Thank you. I really liked this (Just one thing of many things you wrote):
"This too reminds me of how the Lord God led them out of Egypt, only this time He won't be a cloud or fire, He will be Jesus in the flesh!

I didn't realize I'd written so much!
Yeah, it's exciting to me to read those scriptures knowing that we will be there in the flesh with Him and see it all take place! Just as when I read the last parts of Revelation, knowing that we will walk down those streets of gold and live in a room made especially for us, by the only one who knows us better than we know ourselves. So we know it will be the perfect room for us. Knowing we will have that room for all of eternity. Now I have to kind of hide the fact that I think it's funny that we celebrate birthdays here. Can you even imagine celebrating them every year after we've lived a few million years? Besides, which birthday would we celebrate? The day we were born physically, or the day of our spiritual birth? But even celebrating the later would get old after a million years.
I suspect we'll probably find something better to celebrate. Maybe it will be Pentecost, or Christmas or Easter, the start of eternity, something else or just because we feel like it. In a way, at least the way I feel about it now, every day will be a glorious celebration anyway, although I don't mean in a birthday party sort of way.
It makes me homesick for our real home!
