What you've said is so true! I especially like how you showed that when we are acting mean toward others, that God says we will be judged and dealt with the same way. It reminds me of what Hamas is doing to Israel now. God intends to pay them back totally, and they aren't going to like it because all they've done to Israel will be done to them and the nations will rejoice when they are no more.

I agree totally...as always!
I know for sure, that the Bible is 100% absolutely without error, and correct, when it says: ( I almost exclusively use: NASV 1995 or Legacy, but on rare occasions KGV for this verse):
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it"? Jeremiah 17:9
I have recently started to read some more of what Hamas did and it was soooooooooo "desperately wicked"...
I honestly could not take it anymore!!! I could not read anymore...so heartless!
I realize that unless 'ANY' human is saved ....
then ALL people are capable of such unimaginably cruelty....
But still....
It breaks my heart, and thus it was the thing of THE worst nightmares ever imagined.... on par, if not worst, that the ovens of the German holocaust!
It was so savage, so without ANY pity, or ANY compassion it was totally lacking, any human mercy
I know that in wars, they sometimes use such cruelty and torture, to extract information out of enemy soldiers...
but a baby or small toddler girls etc. are NOT soldiers!!!
( nor do I think torture soldiers is a okay thing.... but they are not children of course.... still that level of pain inflicted on anyone, brings endless tears)
Being shot would have been a mercy!
What they did was sooooooooo inhumane, sooooooooo evil and sooooooooo demonic!!!
And yet....
much of the world calls that:
"freedom fighters" and the like.... and cheers and supports their fight for 'freedom'!
NO!
As I said before, IF they had 'JUST' shot the women, children, babies, and soldiers.... that.... thought bad enough would have been one thing....
But
that is 'NOT' what many of them, did to many Jews!!!
And I 'get' that many of them were on drugs, which may have helped the evil along....
Still, they are taught to HATE HATE HATE the Jews, from childhood.
What is even more perplexing,, in a way ( but in another way not),
is:
how quickly the HATRED... not even taught from childhood
has unveiled itself
in the rest of the world ( not the Arab Muslim world)!!
It certainly proves God's Word that: the heart is in fact, DESPERATELY WICKED!!!!!!!!!!
God please have mercy on us....
humans are so so so so undeserving,
that without God's love and mercy we all 'deserve' Hell!!!

Behold, a king will reign righteously And princes will rule justly. Isaiah 32:1
In contrast to the inadequate rulers and leaders, when Jesus reigns in the millennium, with his assistants and administration, they will be righteous and rule justly.
Each will be like a refuge from the wind And a shelter from the storm, Like streams of water in a dry country, Like the shade of a huge rock in a parched land. Isaiah 32:2
The leaders, governors, mayors etc. etc. will give help, comfort, and protection... instead of threats and injustice.
Then the eyes of those who see will not be blinded, And the ears of those who hear will listen. Isaiah 32:3
It reminds me of this verse:
Therefore I speak to them in parables; because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. Matthew 13:13
This will be in the future Messianic 1000 year reign.

Very true. I agree with all you've said. I don't watch, or listen to it because I don't want to know what's happening. I'm well aware of how wicked and evil we are and I know that what is going to happen during the Tribulation will make the Holocaust look like a Sunday picnic. Since that's true, it tells me that what's happening now is already much worse than "normal" and that it's only going to continue to get worse. So while I don't mind knowing the basic outlines of what's happening, I don't want to know that particulars and do my best to avoid doing so. I guess I'm "back to the basic" lol. Seriously though, isn't that how reporters originally started out? They just reported the facts and didn't include any of their own thoughts about those facts. It also reminds me of Christian fiction books. I don't like the ones that include all kinds of blood and gore and go into detail about nasty things. Just say the person died, or the person was shot and killed, no details are needed. I guess that's why I also can't understand why a Christian would even want to watch a horror movie. It doesn't make any sense to me. oops, sorry for going off topic though!
I'm aware of the Legacy (LSB) and the NASB but I've never heard of the NASV or the KGV, what are they? But if you like that one for Jeremiah 17:9, I bet you'll like the amplified Bible too:
AMP: The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly perverse and corrupt and severely, mortally sick! Who can know it [perceive, understand, be acquainted with his own heart and mind]? D-R The heart is perverse above all things, and unsearchable, who can know it?
NAB More tortuous than all else is the human heart, beyond remedy; who can understand it?
LSB “The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can know it?
NCV “More than anything else, a person’s mind is evil and cannot be healed. Who can understand it?
NLT “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?
NLV "The heart is fooled more than anything else, and is very sinful. Who can know how bad it is? ETR "Nothing can hide its evil as well as the human mind. It can be very sick, and no one really understands it.
BBE The heart is a twisted thing, not to be searched out by man: who is able to have knowledge of it?
Behold, a king will reign righteously And princes will rule justly. Isaiah 32:1
In contrast to the inadequate rulers and leaders, when Jesus reigns in the millennium, with his assistants and administration, they will be righteous and rule justly.
Each will be like a refuge from the wind And a shelter from the storm, Like streams of water in a dry country, Like the shade of a huge rock in a parched land. Isaiah 32:2

Therefore I speak to them in parables; because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. Matthew 13:13
This will be in the future Messianic 1000 year reign.
I love the first 6 verses of this chapter that tell how Jesus and those who reign with Him will act and shows that the people will no longer be fooled by anyone, no matter what they say or do! That is such great news! Oh wait, you didn't go that far so I won't say any more. Sorry I got ahead of myself....

HAHAHAHA that was funny! You got ahead of yourself and me...but mostly me...which I am not surprised as I am as slow as molasses!
I agree about Christian fiction that goes into all the bloody details....I kind of already know....and I don't read in order to read it as well.
If it is scripture, then yes....
But I notice it is often ( but certainly not always) men authors who have been in the military so.....
I did look at a 4 second video of 4 girls that have been held for 3 months and my heart went out to them they really should have been in a hospital!!!
But, I try to post mostly just the facts,
(seems to me there was a TV series, looong looong ago, where the police guy(?) said something like that.....)
but I do mess up once in awhile ( 10% or so)?
I will try to be more selective.

The mind of the hasty will discern the truth, And the tongue of the stammerers will hasten to speak clearly. Isaiah 32:4
In John MacArthur's notes, he says that stammerers were drunks uttering nonsense. ( not what I was first thinking, someone who stutters).
So those who used to make unjust hasty decisions, will actually discern the truth and the former drunkards will give: clear, concise, intelligent, and godly views.
No longer will the fool be called noble, Or the rogue be spoken of as generous. Isaiah 32:5 ~~~~~~~~
There will no longer be false evaluations or flattery, given to the exact opposite... frauds.
Therefore, those kinds of vices, will no longer be deemed 'virtues'.
This sort of thing, sadly, goes on in our day, as well.
For a fool speaks nonsense, And his heart inclines toward wickedness: To practice ungodliness and to speak error against the Lord, To keep the hungry person unsatisfied And to withhold drink from the thirsty. Isaiah 32:6
The fool does not take care of those who are in need, rather he tends toward the wickedness, and lack of compassion, that is in his heart.
In fact, he is actually very cruel, in that, he won't even aid in the absolute basic needs of water and food!
God is not pleased with this inhumane, barbaric, brutal attitude!

Thank you for a wonderful study Barbara! Isn't it amazing how the truth really does set us free? In the past I bet each of us has said things that we would now consider foolish, lies (at least little white lies if not worse) flattery, and just plain nonsense. Yet the Lord says all those things are false, and He considers them horrible and deadly sins. How could our attitudes be so drastically changed over the years? Now we realize that telling someone that while we may not agree with them because we believe something is a sin, that it's their right to do whatever they want to in their own home, is a horrible and hateful thing to tell someone. Why? Because it leads them to believe that they're right; that their sin hurts no one but themselves and really doesn't even hurt them much. Now we know that saying something like that is deadly because every sin leads to death and hell! Every sin, no matter what it is needs to be repented from and needs the blood of Christ to cleanse the sin, and the guilt away forever. If we don't tell them the truth, we are condemning them to Hell.
But today, the fools who speak from a depraved or reprobate mind are called noble and wise, and we are called hateful because we tell the truth. Praise God that beginning when Jesus returns, and forever after that, we are the ones who will be called wise and those who reject the truth will be the ones called fools and worse. They won't be called that to put them down, but rather to open their eyes to what's happening to them so they can be saved. God desires everyone to be saved. He hates it when He loses someone to Hell, and so should we.

I totally agree Cindy... but even more... added to what you said:
"fools who speak from a depraved or reprobate mind are called noble and wise, and we are called hateful..."
They are also called: 'compassionate, loving, merciful, piteous, humanitarian, etc.
And we are:
mean, cruel, despicable, evil etc.

As for a rogue, his weapons are evil; He devises wicked schemes To destroy the afflicted with slander, Even though the needy one speaks what is right. Isaiah 32:7
The churl uses lies, and misrepresentations of character, to deprive the poor and needy of care... even when the needy one tells the truth.
This is contrasted by a true noble person:
But the noble man devises noble plans; And by noble plans he stands. Isaiah 32:8
I think this may have the deeper meaning of Jesus during His 1000 reign... as well, being about godly men.... who have true kindness and compassion, helping the poor and needy, with love.
He has given freely to the poor, His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted in honor. Psalms 112:9
and
as it is written,
“He scattered abroad, he gave to the poor, His righteousness endures forever.” 2 Corinthians 9:9
They do this from true compassion, their whole lives, it is not a one time event, with the intent of gaining praise for themselves.
And now he speaks to women:
Rise up, you women who are at ease, And hear my voice; Give ear to my word, You complacent daughters. Isaiah 32:9
I think the main issue is: who or what are they feeling at ease with? Is it Egypt, or their Creator God?
Do their wealthy comforts, riches, luxury, and pleasures, 'allow' them to ignore God?
And do they ignore the poor, those who are suffering grievous hardships? These women at ease lack compassion, as well as, being lazy, and slothful. This is a warning to them.

so true! You shared this verse:
But the noble man devises noble plans; And by noble plans he stands. Isaiah 32:8
I'd like to share the NIV translation of it though: “But the noble man makes noble plans, and by noble deeds he stands.” (Isaiah 32:8) When I looked up the original words, there is no word after the third "noble". That one could be translated "nobility" instead, so it would then say: “But the noble man makes noble plans, and by nobility he stands.” I think that's why the NIV translated it the way they did. Because the way we think determines how we act, and how we act shows what our thoughts are and where our hearts are at. I promise I'm not making this up lol. Here's what Strongs says about the last "noble" in that verse: 5082 נְדִיבָה [nâdiybah /ned·ee·baw/] n f. From 5081; TWOT 1299c; GK 5619; AV translates as “soul” once. 1 nobility, nobleness, noble deeds. 1A nobility (of rank), honour. 1B noble things. Enhanced Strong’s Lexicon. And yes, our Lord was and is in fact Noble. His person is noble, His thoughts are noble, and His deeds are noble. I can't wait until our salvation has been finished so that we too are completely noble, and loving. Too often I fail and I hate it when I realize that something I've said or done has dishonored my Lord.
Yes, I agree with you about the complacent too. I think we're all that way to one extent or another. I remember years ago on our old board, before 2010. We discussed the Tribulation frequently as well as the times leading up to it. Yet not one of us realized that we would be affected the way we have been. I think in our minds anyway, we thought others might be, but not us. I'm not saying we thought we'd be protected in some way. We knew better than that. We just didn't think it all the way through. Like when we talked about bad storms, tornadoes, etc. we never realized that those would disrupt our lives too. We simply didn't follow the thought all the way through. It was during the last year we had the board that I finally made the connection, because I saw that there were a LOT more prayer requests and that the requests were for things that had much more potential to harm us. Then I realized that we would be affected by all these mini previews of the Tribulation too. Weird, we didn't see it sooner, huh? I think it was because we'd become complacent in some ways about how things were. There were probably other issues as well though.

OH Wow! Cindy so true...!!!
And look at the world now, in 2024!!! Wars, and rumors of wars....
I am totally speculating ( probably not the best thing) but I think we might see several more BIG wars, this year....oh boy!
And the weather is seemingly more extreme, but I honestly do NOT believe it is caused by our 'carbon footprints'.
I think, it is also, a part of more and more 'birth pangs' getting strong, more frequent etc.
And people's hearts are growing colder, and colder, The sinful rebellion of many people is getting crazy, Sexual sin is getting worse and worse and more evil
on and on.
People say, well, we have 'ALWAYS" had these things
However, not so many, so strong, etc. and all at once, everywhere on planet earth.
AND...it is NOT slowing down...
each day I look at Amir's site ( I am so heart broken for the huge antisemitism rearing it ugly head all over the world, it 'seems' like it getting closer and closer to the holocaust!
Such hatred...but then, the devil also has 'a part' in stiring it up!
Satan still wants every Jew dead... then, he hopes Jesus cannot come back, just like when Jesus came the first time, and all the Jewish baby boys were killed.
But you are so right, I remember waaaaay back then, it seemed like the pot was boiling, and somehow it did not affect me personally.
Now it is really boiling, and it does affect me.
Even, ahem...plagues ( so to speak)
I saw where "Mr. Science" I am not being rude, he actually said that of himself.
Said, just a few days ago, that social distancing has little efficacy, in stopping the spread,
He actually said words more or less like: "It just sort of evolved" ( I will try and go find the absolute exact quote and/or video)
but I want to do, the Bible study, and get to Amir's etc.
And we are still so cold ( I don't think older people or at least 'some' older folks, do well in temps below zero which we are again today...so we do a lot of napping.
Anyway, that social distancing, affected people who were dying, and no one could visit them....that is just one way.
I am sure there are times when isolation is needed and necessary and good.......
I have a feeling, we may have more plagues soon-ish.

Within a year and a few days You will be troubled, you complacent daughters; For the vintage is ended, And the fruit gathering will not come. Isaiah 32:10
This is a warning that the coming judgment will have to do with the lack of food crops.
Isaiah ( God through Isaiah) is speaking in these verses, to the complacent, even slothful women.
He adds this:
Tremble, you women who are at ease; Be troubled, you complacent daughters; Strip, undress, and put sackcloth on your waist, Isaiah 32:11
In the not so distant future, their whole attitudes, and emotions, and out look on life, will change drastically!!!
The truth is, that very often, people are in more spiritual danger if they are living in the lap of luxury, then when they are poor and in adversity.
The tendency toward pride of their 'hard earned' accomplishments by their own hands, suggests to them they do not need God!
The outfit or dress these pampered women will put on, is what mourners wore when in great sorrow, pain, and adversity.
Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine, Isaiah 32:12
A way of expressing deep dismay, grief, despair... but also, it might point to being so hungry, as a result of being deprived of sufficient nourishment, they cannot nurse their babies.
For the land of my people in which thorns and briars will come up; Indeed, for all the joyful houses and for the jubilant city. Isaiah 32:13
Having ignored and turned their backs on God, they are desolate and the land is barren, a very frightening total change.
God said in Exodus 3:8 that 'HE' would be the giver of provison:
So I have come down to deliver them from the power of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey....... Exodus 3:8
However, they had determined, they did not need Him, they were doing it all by themselves.... Only, now they learn the truth. It was God blessing them, all along.
This desolation will extend even to the most luxurious, magnificent, joy-filled houses.

I love it when I hear people say (as you quoted) "People say, well, we have 'ALWAYS" had these things" because that just proves that Jesus was right on! Jesus didn't say we wouldn't have wars and rumors of wars, but that then all of a sudden as the end of the age drew near that they'd happen. He said that all through the end times (which started when the Jews were taken captive to Babylon) we would have wars and rumors of wars. (and all the other stuff He said would happen.

For the palace has been neglected, the populated city abandoned. Hill and watch-tower have become caves forever, A delight for wild donkeys, a pasture for flocks, Isaiah 32:14
It does not matter, if you live in a glorious palace, with many lavish, opulent, extravagant, things, it can all become desolation when the Lord brings judgement upon it and you.
Thus it will be only a place for wild animals and birds.
This verse is one of many, that has spoken a great deal of wisdom to me ( especially if I get to ever feeling sorry for myself, that I don't have this or that 'thing'):
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? Mark 8:36
People can often be dazzled by magnificent castles, and the like, but they will crumble to dust one day.
Frankly, they may be a kind of beauty, but personally, I would not want to live in a big drafty mausoleum. It would not be 'homey' or 'comfy'... and for sure, I would not want the whole world, and lose being with Jesus for eternity!!!
Until the Spirit is poured out upon us from on high, And the wilderness becomes a fertile field, And the fertile field is considered as a forest. Isaiah 32:15
God's spirit brings blessings...especially, in the future kingdom of Christ. This then is a promise of some future hope, so they would not die of total despair.
Even though, they will be severely punished, God gives them hope. God will transform the land.
You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; And You renew the face of the ground. Psalm 104:30
Furthermore:
Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, And righteousness will remain in the fertile field. Isaiah 32:16
Spiritual values will be restored, prevail, and reign. Without God's values, there is no true happiness.

I've been reading Ezekiel 44 today and it talks about the Millennial Kingdom. It shows that God will cause people to have to deal with the consequences of their sins even if they're forgiven. Over and over it says we need to remember that Jesus said we have to deny ourselves (Matthew 16:24). We are to live for Him, not for ourselves; we’re to do things His way, not our way. What I found amazing though is that although the priests have to pay the consequences of their sins, God gives them great mercy and grace anyway and still lets them serve in the new Temple, only in a lesser way. He is such an amazing God!

I am thinking that even in our day, though one is saved, we often have to deal with the consequences of our sins.
I will try to post here again soon.... I do my morning, at home, Bible study but soon, fall asleep ( having not slept the night before, or only for a short time.
I also wonder if the cold weather ( dark cloudy rainy day after day, adds to the sleepiness?)

Absolutely! Let me share about consequences for those who don't know what scripture says about it...
God doesn't take the consequences from our sins because He forgives us. When He forgives us, He does take away our guilt and shame, although many Christians don't know scripture well enough to know that God does not want us to feel guilt and shame for sins that have been confessed and forgiven. Consequences however are another thing. They're part of the laws of God, like gravity. I'm not saying that at times, for some, it seems like they're been removed, but I'm not sure it's really true. Even the unsaved get away with horrendous sins sometimes - or at least they seem to, as it seems there haven't been any consequences for them. The problem is that we're not them. We don't know all that goes on in their life. And in our own life, the tendency of our sin nature is to blame the bad things that happen to us on our past sin(s). I feel sure this saddens our Lord, because it's usually not true. Examples of some of the earthly consequences to sin might be things like this: (notice I said "some" as I'm not trying to list everything I can think of lol) For adultery - divorce, or a STD, a pregnancy, a bad reputation, or combination of those things. For premarital sex: a STD, a pregnancy, a bad reputation, disappointing your parents, or combination of those things.
For theft - arrest, a bad reputation, time in jail or prison, difficulty in finding a job when out of prison, disappointing your parents or kids or spouse or all of them and having to live with that. For Lying - having a bad reputation, discovering that other people have stopped believing you, and have stopped trusting you, being sued for liable or slander. Depending on what you lie about and who you lie to, it could also cause you to be arrested and sent to jail.
For frequently cursing and telling off color jokes etc - You could get slapped, Christians won't want to be around you when they realize you won't stop, so you may lose their companionship, or is they are able to put up with it, they will not be enjoying it or liking it and it will become clear to you that they don't enjoy your company. You may not be invited to some events, especially by Christians. Your employer may object and you could get warnings or lose your job eventually.
For murder - you could be arrested, go to jail and prison, someone could try and murder you in an act of revenge, etc.
So if after you steal something you get a nasty disease, it's not a consequence of your sin. If a loved one dies after you are caught lying about something, it's not a consequence of your sin. If you have premarital sex and then break out with a severe case of pimples, it's not a consequence of your sin.
Yes, rainy days like that can make us feel drowsy. Hope you're feeling better soon!

And the work of righteousness will be peace, And the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever. Isaiah 32:17
In the promised 1000 year kingdom, this is the joyful effect, of righteousness. This will continue forever in the new Heaven and Earth.
Furthermore:
Then my people will live in a peaceful settlement, In secure dwellings, and in undisturbed resting places; Isaiah 32:18
Jesus presence secures peace. They are secure from enemies, invasions, internal or external foes, etc.
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ Romans 5:1
and
And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
But first they must be humble and not proud and haughty.
And it will hail when the forest comes down, And the city will be utterly laid low. Isaiah 32:19
However, this will also happen to their enemies, but unless they turn from their wicked ways, this will be continuous for them.
How blessed will you be, you who sow beside all waters, Who let the ox and the donkey out freely. Isaiah 32:20
The righteous ( when Jesus reigns) will be able to farm in security, in the most fertile areas by water.
Crops will be so abundant, there is no need to worry, about the animals crushing or eating the crops.

Woe to you, destroyer, While you were not destroyed; And he who is treacherous, while {others} did not deal treacherously with him. As soon as you finish destroying, you will be destroyed; As soon as you cease to deal treacherously, {others} will deal treacherously with you. Isaiah 33:1
This is a near and far warning, to those enemies and powers against Israel. No matter how big or strong, even if they are 'conquerors' for a period of time, they will be destroyed. God can and does overthrow very powerful kingdoms.
LORD, be gracious to us; we have waited for You. Be their strength every morning, Our salvation also in the time of distress. Isaiah 33:2
In the past Israel did not wait for the Lord, now they do. This is a sincere prayer to God for deliverance from a coming invasion.
Let Your lovingkindness, O Lord, be upon us, According as we have hoped in You. Psalms 33:22
It is often in trouble that we learn patience and faith in God. We can remember the truth about God.
At the sound of a roar, peoples flee; At the lifting up of Yourself, nations disperse. Isaiah 33:3
The enemy may have thought, they defeated even the God of Israel, but they were very wrong!

Your plunder is gathered {as} the caterpillar gathers; Like an infestation of locusts, people storm it. Isaiah 33:4
The war-like enemies will flee and leave all that they plundered. They are compared to bugs, like caterpillars and locusts. It doesn't matter how great their insatiable avarice, or how large their numbers are, they will be defeated.
The LORD is exalted, for He dwells on high; He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness. Isaiah 33:5
Praises to the Lord God:
For You are the Lord Most High over all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods. Psalms 97:9
And
But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases. Psalms 115:3
And Praises of God in the future:
And He will be the stability of your times, A wealth of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; The fear of the LORD is his treasure. Isaiah 33:6
This is both a near and far promise, Near: for the reign of Hezekiah, and far: for the 1000 year reign of Jesus.

I enjoyed reading all you've written lately Barbara. Two things caught my eye - from two different days lol “The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.” (Isaiah 32:17) As you know, I like to look at other translations to learn more about the verses. LSB 2022 And the work of righteousness will be peace, And the service of righteousness, quietness and security forever. AMP 1987 And the effect of righteousness will be peace [internal and external], and the result of righteousness will be quietness and confident trust forever.
Let me introduce a new favorite version! It's called "A translation 4 Translators"! A Translation for Translators is a special translation of the Bible designed to help translators to know implicit information in the original languages that is often required it translating the Holy Bible to other languages. It presents alternate ways of translating that may be necessary in various languages. It also gives additional insight to people who are just interested in reading and studying the Bible in English. If anyone would like to know more about it, there's a free version here and at the beginning it tells you all about this version: T4T 2021 And the result of their acting righteously will be that there will be peace, the land will be tranquil/quiet, and people will be secure/safe forever. “The LORD is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness.” (Isaiah 33:5) The other translations are all the same other than some different spellings of the same word.
“He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure.” (Isaiah 33:6) LSB 2022 And He will be the stability of your times, A wealth of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; The fear of Yahweh is his treasure. AMP 1987 And there shall be stability in your times, an abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the reverent fear and worship of the Lord is your treasure and His.
T4T 2021 When that happens, he will enable you to live securely/safely; he will fully protect your possessions, he will enable you to be wise and to know all that you need to know; and revering Yahweh will be like [MET] a valuable treasure for you.
I especially like how T4T translates Isaiah 33:6 as it shows that in order to have The fruit of righteousness in Isaiah 32:17 - which is peace; and the effect of it, we must first have the Lord. As Isaiah 33:5 says, It's the Lord that will fill the world with righteousness, (and justice) not us. The Lord will of course remove our sin nature completely and make us 100% righteous too, but again, we must realize that we are not going to become righteous by our own doing. Paul tells us a lot about righteousness, linking it to our salvation in Christ. He also let's us know that we aren't going to be 100% righteous while we're still in this life when he says: “But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope.” (Galatians 5:5) And of course we all know that one of the fruits of the Spirit is peace! So we rejoice and can't wait for the rapture and then the 2nd coming when we will return with the Lord and the whole earth will be filled with His righteousness and peace. People will experience love, joy, and peace like never before! Yet by the end of his 1000 year reign, a large number of people will choose Satan instead of Him! If that doesn't show just how awful and horrible the sin nature is, I don't know what does!

Behold, their brave men cry out in the streets, The ambassadors of peace weep bitterly. Isaiah 33:7
The T4T states it this way:
But now, look, our brave men are crying out in the streets; our ambassadors have gone to other countries to make peace treaties, but they will cry bitterly because they will not succeed. Isaiah 33:7
Isaiah after showing the glorious future, now returns to the disastrous present.... The ambassadors efforts to garner a peace, have failed and was unsuccessful!
The highways are desolate, the traveler has ceased, He has broken the covenant, he has despised the cities, He has no regard for mankind. Isaiah 33:8
And/or The T4T
8 No one travels on our roads [DOU]. The leaders of Assyria have broken/disregarded their peace treaty with us; they despise the people who made those treaties, and they do not respect anyone. Isaiah 33:8
Desolation and there is a ceasing of travel... This often happens with war, or a plague etc.
The tyrant is so cruel, he has no pity or compassion. This could also be a true description for the future, anti-Christ.
The land mourns and wastes away, Lebanon is shamed and withers; Sharon is like a desert plain, And Bashan and Carmel lose their foliage. Isaiah 33:9
This is a fuller description of how desperate their situation is. The areas named show how no part of the land will be safe, and describes the misery and distress, and utterly ruined environment etc.

I'm sorry I didn't see your post Barbara! I don't know why I didn't....maybe it's just another example of my brain not working lately. Whenever I read about what the Assyrians did, it reminds me of what's going on today with Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, because they are cruel and sadistic for sure! But I also remember that God will avenge every single person and animal they hurt. I remember too that the Lord says that anything done to someone that belongs to Him, is actually done to Him and that He will repay the injury. That's why the Tribulation is going to be so horrible. While it will be horrible for the Jews because they didn't recognize Jesus as their God and savior, and for everyone else who isn't saved, it will also be horrible for all the harm that other people, groups like Hamas, and countries have done against Israel. I certainly wouldn't want to be a member of Hamas or any other group or country that's come against Israel in our time. I'm very glad that we won't even be on this earth during that time! They may think that they're going to get 77 virgins for killing Jews and Christians, but they're actually going to be very surprised to find that instead they will be punished for eternity. They will have done to them, what they did to others. Not a pleasant thought!

Oh thank you so much for your reply!! What a sweet kind nature you have!
But no, they will not be getting 7 or 77 virgins, and what they will get is not a pleasant thought. It is almost at the level of non-belief....concerning how cruel they are... how can anyone be that cruel??
But I guess, being taught relentlessly from childhood, to 'hate' with such a passion, that they do not care even for their own life, if they can only hurt Jews in the worst way possible.
Imagine if they were taught the Bible, and the love, mercy, and forgiveness of God as relentlessly! What if the children in our country were...taught about Jesus?
But instead, it seems like many american children, they are being taught, 'critical race theory' etc. and so many young folks are also, becoming more and more cruel.
it is so sad. It really seems like many of Hamas etc. have to be demon possessed.
But it's also here.... like...more and more Satan clubs in schools etc.

"Now I will arise," says the LORD, "Now I will be exalted, now I will be lifted up. Isaiah 33:10
God sometimes waits, until the cruel oppressor reaches the top of their power, but then, God arises to judge and punish.
From a human viewpoint, we don't always understand why God delays, but it can strengthen us, give us more courage, and faith.
Many times, in my life, it happened ( on a much smaller level but still...)
God waited, until it was absolutely clear, no other 'help' was available, so it was clearly and totally ONLY from God.
"You have conceived chaff, you will give birth to stubble; My breath will consume you like a fire. Isaiah 33:11
What a deception! It seemed the enemy was so powerful, but against God, they were not substantial, rather, they were frivolous, useless, and vain, pompous braggards. like chaff, they were easily scattered, burned, and destroyed.
"The peoples will be burned to lime, Like cut thorns which are burned in the fire. Isaiah 33:12
These tyrants will easily be reduced to powder like lime. It did not take much for God to destroy them, and to destroy them speedily, like well dry thorns, brush and kindling.
