Hey All!
Long time no see! Had a wonderful visit with Ron and Lulu. As well as Mace and Oombi (not sure about the spelling lol). Very cool animals. The more we saw of them the more we liked them. They got to meet EJ, somebody at fresh hope knows his full name now. They also met my sister, her husband, Stan's one brother and Nickie and his new wife Sonja.
Work is going good. We were having to change clothes when we got to work and then change after, leaving our work clothes at work because of this whole covid 19 stuff. They stopped that this week. we have only 6 active cases in the entire valley. They did a lot of tests at the local college, 850 I believe and only one positive result. Its annoying to have to wear masks everywhere and then all day at work when there are so few cases. But I get why. The place in Seattle that started it all and had so many deaths is owned by our parent company and one of the nursing homes here, which is also owned by our parent company had 27 cases. 20 residents and 7 staff, four of the residents died so I'd rather be cautious than not. We are an independent and assisted living facility. We had only one staff member get it and she was caught through contact tracing. No one else at work staff or residents got it.
Chelsea has been doing online teaching from home to start with, then they had the teachers come in to school and do online teaching. Next week the students come back into the classroom for those who want to so they will be doing in school, online and home school paper packets.
EJ is doing well he's getting all A's and B's so far. Oh I got to tell you, when he first came to us, he developed separation anxiety pretty bad. He didn't want to be away from Chelsea at all. Over time it got better and better but when Lulu and Ron where here it showed how far he's come. When the guys went fishing, he went with them instead of staying home. A couple years ago that would not have happened. Its hard to believe he's going to be 13 soon. I don't feel old enough to be the grandmother of a teenager!
Stan's doing okay all things considered. He's got COPD and the smoke from the fires isn't helping any. His diabetes is under control but he's developed arthritis in his hand and may need surgery in the future. He's also thinking of retiring again. He did retire but got bored so he took a part time job as a breakfast cook where I work. We got a couple of small credit cards and as soon as they're paid off he's going to retire. Again. lol This time I think it will stick. Not sure when I'm going to retire. I've got 10 years before I can get medicare so I'll need to keep working for the insurance.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I think about you quite frequently and keep telling myself I need to come back and post but either something comes up or I just get plain tired. love to all.

It would have been good if the guy had some forethought that he might end up on the news, therefore to wear a shirt and tie so he looks his best with so many people viewing him.

Hi everyone! Thank you Barbara for letting them know why I wasn't here. Thank you for your prayers Lulu, they're much appreciated. I don't know why, but this summer the pain has been much worse then it's been in a long time.
I posted that picture because our fire bush has already turned this year and is beautiful! The rest of the trees are coming along too and should peak in a couple of weeks.
It's good to hear from you Li, and to hear how everyone in your family is doing now. I'm glad you're all ok and haven't gotten covid.
Love your pictures Lulu! Those bees are great lol!

Cindy, that fire bush is pretty to look at. Finally it is cooler where I live, high temp today will be 83*, that is nice, will return to about 90* for the week though, which will be ok. I am doing outdoors painting today, typing now with dry paint on my hands. Saying prayer that you feel better.
Seven, I am glad to see the smoke cloud over the ocean and not over the land, for both those in CA and also those in AZ, I wish we would stop getting the smoke coming from CA, heard people are leaving that state, probably moving to AZ or TX. I see some new neighbors in my area, probably from CA. I would like to see the blade runner pictures, I hope things don't get that bad, but not seeing pictures of CA, just the usual of a fire burning, but not of how the people are living in such areas.
Good morning Lulu, how exciting to be able to soon visit with your sister.

Good morning Chatters! Just wanted to update on my mother - she decided NOT to take chemotherapy and will just do radiation, which we think is supposed to start tomorrow (Wednesday)... she'll find out for sure today. The oncologist she saw here in Columbia sent her for chest & bone CT scans and they came back clear, so based on that we feel comfortable with her not taking chemo, although she will have to see the oncologist every 3 months for the next couple of years for lab work and more scans. We are all at peace with this decision and thank you again for all the prayers on her behalf!! Cindy, I read that Bruce is starting Humira! John took a couple of rounds of that before he began Remicade infusions. Have they started Bruce yet? Will he give himself the injections at home? I'm so sorry to read that he is hurting and needs a biologic, but will pray that it makes a big difference. Interesting how you both have RA, but are affected in different parts of the body.John had last week off for vacation - bank employees are required to take at least a full week off each year so they can run checks to be sure employees are not stealing from the company (even though he's in Operations and has nothing to do with banking), so we went to the Tennessee mountains for our anniversary which was on 9/20 -- 34 years! It was nice to get away for a few days after the stress of 2020! Today it's back to work for me. It was interesting reading everyones' comments on Costco... since the optometrist I work for is inside a Costco! I happen to love Costco!! We always have! Even when we moved from Atlanta to Columbia and the closest Costco was 2 hours away, John always kept up the membership because we saved money shopping there, and we like it so much better than Sam's. Then when they built the one here in town a few years ago we were really thrilled! But, it depends on the store itself, the management, and the employees. Ours is nice.Mark, that is great news about your band and we look forward to hearing more details! Okay, talk to you all later!

Hi Lorrie, I'm glad to hear about your Mom's decision and that you're all at peace with it. Please let us know whenever you need our prayers ok?
Honestly, i was shocked that Bruce would even consider taking the Humira. Just last week though I discovered that he had misunderstood the doctor and didn't realize that the doc was going to add Humira to his meds. When I explained what the doctor's intentions were, he adamantly refused to even consider taking the Humira. (which is what I would have expected him to do.) I never tell him what the possible side effects of his meds are because he would freak out. But the years before we switched over to Roku for our TV, when we had to watch commercials, he saw lots of commercials about the side effects of Humira, and so wants nothing at all to do with it. So I had to call the doc and leave a message telling him that. In fact, I have to call him again today because we still haven't heard back from him. That's very unusual with him. Generally we hear back right away, but ever since he moved his practice, it's been really messed up. So anyway, at this point, I don't know what's going to happen. My guess is that he will probably put him on Plaquenil along with his methotrexate. I give him the Methotrexate injections each week, and if he were to need other injections I'd be the one giving them too I guess.
That sounds like a great vacation for you guys! What a blessing!

Hi everyone! We're finally getting some rain today which is good; it's badly needed. We were hoping it would be a good long soaking rain, but no such luck. Oh well, some rain is better then none at all.
I hope you all have a great day today!
