Cheryl, I watch Jen cooking videos. She is a Polish woman. Ron is Polish, maybe that is why he would run after a UPS truck, not the first time he chased down a moving vehicle, he is fun and funny. Once when he was in the Army and painting a jeep the driver kept moving the jeep forward until Ron had to run with the paint brush to finish one small spot left to paint. I plan on using to instant pot for cooking meat. I have used the stove top pressure cooker for meat and like it better than a slow cooker, does the same results only much faster and now with the electric one I can leave the room and not have to watch the pot unlike the pressure cooker on the stove that I had to be aware of how it was doing with the steam being released. I have a recipe book for instant pot but still I have to guess somewhat as to how long to cook the food and write down how long it takes for favorite meals. My rice cooker is junk, so now I can throw that away. I think I will also throw away the slow cooker. IP can be used as a slow cooker, steam, pressure and has like rice button etc. I never bought one until now because they were to expensive but now finally the price lowered to 65 dollars, about 70 with tax.

I've never used a pressure cooker, but my mom did and the meat was always so tender it just fell apart. For that reason alone I wouldn't mind getting an instapot - if we can find one that's made in the good old USA.
How did you guys all fare last night? We only had 6 children come for candy. That's partly due to where we live and partly due to the fact that it was threatening to rain really hard and the wind was blowing hard too. In fact, the wind is still blowing really hard.

Hi everyone
Had some kidney stones....awful experience...trip to the ER and feeling better now.
Australia has wildfires regularly, it seems the CA authorities have been stopped by the greenies from back burning. LA sounds like the plague may start up again....has CA been deliverately let run down to make it a liberal utopia? We now back burn again ( sensible thing to do ) and it drives the loopy greenies bonkers.
We had really bad fires around Melbourne 10 years ago where if you got within 200 yards the heat would kill anyone.

Anna, I love watching Jenny's videos! I make polish food, because Ed's mother was Polish, also, so I have a few of her recipes. Jenny helps me to cut the recipe down, quite considerably. Like her Perogie video. Her recipe helps me take 300 perogies, down to a dozen or so. LOL!!
Ed was half German, and half Polish. When I'd say that, he would say, "No I'm not. My parents were."
Cindy, I agree with you. I would love to get that Insta-Pot. And I'd probably use it too! Because I can't chew anything, with this plastic I have for teeth. But, I don't want something that is imported. Thanks for helping me think of that! It was crazy windy, here, on Halloween too. And extremely cold! I didn't have any kids, as usual. And this year, was the first year, in ages, that I didn't buy any candy. I wind up eating it all, and I just can't be doing that, anymore. LOL
Steve, I'm sorry that you had to endure the stones! I hope you are feeling better now. And I agree! Back burning is something they've done for generations, to fight wild fires. It's the sanest thing to do! The "greenies" don't have a clue, what they claim.

I don't understand why you both say you will not buy an appliance because it is made in China. I have heard that even the bullets that the Army uses are made in China. The people here knew back in the 1980's what was coming and now we see it here. The people and even I worked at jobs we could of stayed working at but they closed down business and move to China, where labor was or is cheap and no lawsuits and no unions to deal with. If a product was made here it would cost so much more money to purchase it. Unfortunately this is the modern day and age we live in. Barbra sorry you are not feeling well, hope you quickly recover from the coughing and vertigo.

Barbra sorry you are not feeling well, hope you quickly recover from the coughing and vertigo. It's really not hard to understand. President Trump has been fighting and negotiating with companies to not move out of the country, and those that have, are moving back. China has been getting mega rich off our tariffs for decades, and Trump put a stop to it. The tariffs we were charging were nothing, in comparison, for them to sell their junk in the States, but we paid extremely high tariffs to ship our goods to them. I won't buy anything with "China" on it, because of their unfair trade practices and their control on the currency, and neither should anyone else. YES, I am a Trump supporter. I realize that not all here, are. I don't have to like it, but I respect your choice. That is why we have elections. And it's why we have the electoral college, so that larger states cannot control the outcome of PEOPLE's vote.
OK, I'm done. lol Had to get that out.

Have you tried tea and honey to help curb the coughing? Or vicks on the bottom of your feet?
I'll make sure, after I send this post to pray for your healing!!

Hey from AZ! We are here for a couple weeks then back to California for thanksgiving! We had one hiccup, a scary one to! Ron changing a tire on the side of hwy 10! Semi’s flying by at 80 miles an hour! I prayed the whole time! The Lord watched over us the whole time! We are getting Bee more like home! Pretty settled in! Now we just have to develop a routine to get Bee ready for when we are rolling!

Goodness, so sorry about those of you who have been sick! And Lulu, thankful that Ron is safe after that scary tire change on the side of the interstate!! Sweet picture of you Lulu - you look happy and rested!
In answer to Cindy's question about Halloween-- our church was scheduled to have Trunk-or-Treat, along with several concession stands (I was signed up to help with that). Well, the whole shebang had to be moved indoors because severe thunderstorm were predicted. We had a great turn-out of the community but half-way through the evening, tornado warning sirens started going off so everyone was quickly herded out of the glass-walled social hall into a couple of safer areas of the church, and we had to sit there until the danger was over. That was a little scary!
Cindy, you also wrote this to me:
Thanks so much Lorrie, I appreciate it. Boy, I've sure missed hearing from you though! How are you doing? Are you still working for the dentist? How's John? Still at the same job? I sure wish the Lord would get him a different one that didn't require so much traveling. I hope you're all doing well.
I so appreciate your love and questions, and miss visiting here. With my work schedule I don't participate as much and also, I guess now that my boys are out of the house there's not so much to talk about. I am still working at the same optometry office (eyes... teeth... easy to confuse, haha!) and enjoy it, but miss being at home. John's doing pretty well, still at the same job and traveling often. He still does the Remicade infusions every 8 weeks.
Hope you all have a great week ahead. Tomorrow is a big day around here!!

I also missed hearing from you sooooooo much Leigh! Interesting trunk or treat experience.....ummm scary a bit!! I guess that worked ....it was Halloween right LOL
Our church does that also but have never been to one...... (not a Halloween fan and with Devon's 100% peanut allergy he can't risk it)
But what does the trunk stand for.....do the kids put someone in a trunk if they do not get a treat? haha

You're welcome Cheryl. It's sad how much is imported these days. We've gone from being an independent country that could rely on itself to being a needy country that can't get along without things from other countries. It's really caused our economy to get bad too, because when companies open up their manufacturing plants in other countries instead of in the US, it obviously takes jobs away from US citizens and takes money they would have received as pay, out of our economy and puts in into the other country instead. On top of that, it's made us look the other way at things that are morally wrong instead of standing firm on what's right, such as when the country the manufacturing is done in uses children or when we know that country will turn it into a sweatshop. That's why Walmart is able to have such low prices, because they get most of their stuff from China where they don't pay the people hardly anything and make them work super long hours. It's such a shame. I think it's one of the big reasons our country began going downhill. I have been reading posts but have been sick...with bad coughing for about 10 days or so......but last night really bad vertigo.... I haven't had vertigo for 10 years!! But this is not good! Just so you know why I haven't been here. I have little to no energy and am trying to continue to do daily Bible study.....but even that is hard.....but I do at least a little.

If a product was made here it would cost so much more money to purchase it. Unfortunately this is the modern day and age we live in. Barbra sorry you are not feeling well, hope you quickly recover from the coughing and vertigo. Our bullets are made in China??? You have to be kidding! That's just awful! And what would happen if China declared war on us or became an ally of countries we were against in a war, making them at war with us as well? That's just insane! OK, I looked it up and that's not true. They're made at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in the state of Missouri, and have been made there since WW2! They added General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems in St Petersburg, FL as a limited 2nd supplier in 2005. Phew! What a relief, that really scared me but I couldn't imagine the military being stupid enough to allow that to happen!
If a product was made here by all the companies that produce that product, yes, right at first it would be more expensive. But very quickly it would become much more reasonable (cheaper) as everyone would be competing against other US made things instead of competing with things made in sweatshops elsewhere. So to undo the harm caused to our country by going overseas with our products and from buying junk from over there instead of buying US made things, we will have to suffer for a year or so. That's really not such a big price to pay for getting our country back on track and making it great again. Plus, things made in the US won't be pieces of junk that will fall apart soon after they're bought. That will be a great help!
But I explained more when I was replying to Cheryl above... I guess I can copy that and paste it here for you. OK here's what I wrote to Cheryl: It's sad how much is imported these days. We've gone from being an independent country that could rely on itself to being a needy country that can't get along without things from other countries. I just added a couple of great videos that ABC news did on this years ago, they're below in reply to Cheryl again....

I try not to buy anything that's made anywhere except the US. Sadly, that's actually hard to do now days. Did you see the neat program that 20/20 did on "Made in America"? I loved watching that. It was a real eye opener. Over a number of episodes they showed how much isn't made here in the US (including some US flags!) and then they showcased companies that were making their product here in the US. I wonder if it's on you tube.... I'm going to go look! Oh good, I found it! I'll watch it tonight on TV!

I have a praise report for you all: Remember back in September when I spilled the coffee on my keyboard? I was replying to Barbara about that and said: "Barbara, I'm not getting a new computer, just a new keyboard. ... Someday I'll get a new computer. But unless God has a big surprise for me, it's going to be awhile before that happens lol" Well, it turned out that the Lord did in fact have a big surprise for me and a dear friend gave me a much newer computer then mine was! So now I'm trying to save everything I need from my old computer before Bruce takes it down and hooks up the new one. Then I'll have to set up my bible program on the new one and all the other stuff I need, so that's probably going to take a few days all together. We'll see though. I'm just so excited and can't wait to try it out! God is so very good! I just love His surprises!

Looks like a small enough fire that it could be quickly extinguished, unless things don't work that way in LA, and I have seen videos of the people living on the sidewalks there. That is not good for attracting tourists.
I see Daniel is posting again.
Cindy, glad you have a newer computer to use instead of your older computer.

Thanks Marlene! It took 3 days for it to load my bible library, so I haven't been able to do anything with it yet. I'm trying it out now though. I'm almost afraid to try my library. It kept freezing every time I tried anything earlier, I'm hoping it was still syncing everything or something and will do better now..
Glad you'll have Thanksgiving week off Kelly! Bruce has that week off too, well all but one day of it anyway lol

Cindy when you said it took time to load info from older computer to newer one and you have computer freeze, did you put your info from old computer into the cloud and then transfer it to your new computer? I don't know about computers, I am glad that Ron does computer clean up for me, but I am being reminded by Microsoft that I need to back up my info into the cloud and buy windows 10, by Jan.14th. Microsoft will stop the up grades for windows 7. Whenever we do that Ron will have to do it and it won't be easy to get all done. I hope I don't buy windows 10 and waste my money because my computer is to old and it won't take windows 10, and then I have to go back to using windows 7? or buy a new laptop. I don't like the idea of spending a lot of money on a new computer when my old computer is working. oh well we will soon do something and see how it goes.
Asked question at chat forum, here is what Susan and Tony said. Instead of buying windows 10 can switch to Linux or Ubuntu. Tony keeps using windows 7 and works well for him. Susan said maybe buy a Cromebook... I think I will keep using windows 7 and when my computer no longer works than look into a Cromebook. Some people like using Linux and Ubuntu, we tried that before, years ago and don't want to use either one of those.

I wasn't loading things from one computer onto another. I had to go to the Logos website and download my Bible library from there. The only other thing I downloaded from the web was Incredimail. Not for the amazing stationary like I used to be into though. I don't use the stationary anymore. Now I just use Incredimail because I can sort my email automatically so easily and have it all backed up on gmail. So when I downloaded it to the new computer, I didn't lose any of my emails. I didn't take anything off my old computer directly. This computer has windows 8.1.This came on Deadline Hollywood forum apparently they going be Scoody Doo cartoon hit the movie theatre next year it look so cuteeee LOL I'm sure the kids will like it....at least those allowed to watch it. I don't trust anything on regular TV anymore lol
