I know what you mean.
I'm reading a very interesting book called "Your Body's Many Cries for Water", by F. Batmanghelidj, MD. I definitely recommend it. I am increasing my water intake. Especially in the morning when I usually just drink tea. I hope it helps me. Barbra there is a terrific chapter that addresses lungs and mucous. I would love it, if it could help you.

Here's a few more really good books:
It's called: The Days of Noah: Book One: Conspiracy by Mark Goodwin The Days of Noah: Book Two: Persecution, The Days of Noah, Book Three: Perdition. What's happening in these books could be taken from what the opening post says and our own headlines. It's really amazing. I hope Jesus comes for us soon, but we could well see things get a lot worse first. In The Days of Noah, Book Three: Perdition, the end times fall on America like a shadow of darkness and the last days bring an onslaught of sword, famine and plague. Biblical prophecies are fulfilled when a world leader arises to pull the nations back from the brink of disaster and usher in a new age of peace, but at what cost? In the aftermath of the collapse, America is left to flounder while the rest of the world is rebuilt under the rule of the Global Republic. Noah Parker and his family refuse to take the pledge to the world order and are thereby excluded from the one-world economy which functions using a cashless electronic currency. When the Global Republic finally arrives to begin rebuilding the former United States, Noah and the true Christian community are labeled as terrorist, hunted down like animals and forced to choose between fight or flight.
Another great series is: The Chosen Trilogy (3 Book Series) by Shlomo Kalo THE CHOSEN : The Youth: Historical Fiction (The Chosen Trilogy Book 1) THE CHOSEN : The Prophet: Historical Fiction (The Chosen Trilogy Book 2) THE CHOSEN: A Man Much Loved: Historical Fiction (The Chosen Trilogy Book 3)
From Book 1: An Epic Novel Based on the Biblical story of Daniel Separated from his family, his homeland and his childhood sweetheart, Daniel, a Judean youth of noble lineage, is exiled to Babylon, where his captors hope to use his talents at the Royal court. What will eventually become of the youth - as he is subjected to grueling trials and tests - neither he nor his captors can even imagine... Shlomo Kalo’s masterpiece of Biblical literature, THE CHOSEN, is being republished in three volumes. Kalo, one of the most prolific writers in Israel and a nominee for the Nobel Prize in Literature, brings to new life the themes and spirit of the Biblical story of Daniel in this lively, dramatic epic novel. His masterwork of storytelling weaves together the themes of faith, friendship, betrayal, love stronger than death, and redemption. The first installment, Book 1 THE YOUTH, gives an account of Daniel's early years – from his childhood in Jerusalem, the cradle of his spirituality and character, to his young adulthood in Babylon, when he is sent to his first duty at Nebuchanezzar's Royal court. "It is indeed an epic-like novel filled with drama and passion. Mr. Kalo weaves together the political, personal and spiritual with great skill." G. Glijansky, HarperCollins, US
From the Back Cover: An extraordinary novel with its vivid descriptions, unique linguistic style and unconventional approach to its theme - the theme of love. Based on the Biblical story of Daniel, it is a living epic, full of drama and fascination, with characters, relationships, places and events - transcending definition and transcending time.
Prolific novelist and thinker, Shlomo Kalo, one of the very few Israeli writers nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature, has published 80 titles in a variety of genres and themes. Kalo was born in 1928 in Sofia, Bulgaria. He joined the anti-Fascist underground before reaching his teens and wound up in a concentration camp at the age of 15. After studying medicine and working as a journalist in Prague, and training as a pilot for Mahal, he immigrated to Israel in 1949. He was awarded an MSc in microbiology from Tel Aviv University in 1958. For 26 years and until his retirement, he worked as regional director of medical laboratories. In 1969, a sharp turn in his life occurred. It subsequently affected his life, his thoughts and his highly prolific literary activity. Shlomo Kalo wrote 80 titles, some of which were translated and published in 16 countries. He wrote novels, short fiction, literature for younger readers, non-fiction (philosophy, spirituality), a thriller and more. His short stories appeared in probably all literary magazines in Israel and the media often covered his writings and thoughts. Between the years 2006-2014 he was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature. Shlomo Kalo died peacefully in his house on 8.30.2014. His last words were: "Everything is excellent for he who is not subjugated".
I absolutely loved these books, but then the story of Daniel and his friends has always been one of my favorites. The author did an excellent job with these books. The writing style is different then most and a little difficult to get into right at first, but you quickly get drawn in and understand that this was simply the way these people talked back then. Like I've said before, he made this an incredible story and one you don't want to put down!

I am reading another Lynn Austin book called Wonderland Creek. It just has me laughing sooooo much. Actually I almost wasn't going to read it. I mean it started of OK slow and a bit boring...almost ( but now I can see why she wrote the first 50 or so pages like that)! Because when this young Christian girl's life changes, it is just a wonderful read.
I needed a good laugh and from about page 70 on.... I am laughing so hard at almost every sentence and yet there are also some great Biblical life applications, some serious history, mystery etc.
A very fun book! A really great author. I am so glad there are so many great Christian authors!!

Here's another good book, and I have to say I thought of you when reading it Barbara. You'd enjoy it and I think you'd get a great deal out of it; but if you do get it, you must read the introduction or you'll really wonder about the author at times and wonder if some of it might be false teaching. It's not. He shows how society changes, and how worldly thinking affects people, and what happens to them when they get saved, and finally, how they grow. But he also shows what happens when one of more family members don't give their hearts to the Lord and the conflicts that come from it. What's neat though is that he doesn't just show the conflicts, he shows how the unsaved person is thinking, as well as the saved members of the family. It's really an amazing book, and I imagine that the whole series will be just as wonderful. I've added portions of it to notes in my bible, it's so good, and I've learned a great deal from it. Even though it's historical fiction from earlier, the thinking that began in that time is what is affecting folks today. Wild Grows the Heather in Devon (The Secrets of Heathersleigh Hall Book #1) by Michael PhillipsDeep Inside Heathersleigh Hall Lie Ancient Secrets Yet to Be Discovered.
Among the gently rolling Devonshire downs of southwest England, the Rutherford family leads a peaceful and privileged life at Heathersleigh Hall, the elegant country estate outside the picturesque village of Milverscombe. Charles and Jocelyn Rutherford consider themselves a thoroughly modern couple, teaching their children to throw off the restrictions of a society long steeped in tradition. A rising political star in Parliament, Charles spends his weekdays in London, engaged in moving England forward into the twentieth century, while Jocelyn remains at Heathersleigh Hall with her children, secluded from the prying eyes of London society. But there are secrets beneath this prosperous and contented life. Despite their carefully constructed layers of protection, the Rutherfords are about to be set on a journey of truth that will change them in ways they never could have imagined.vyrso.com/product/53617/wild-grows-the-heather-in-devon You can read this for free by downloading the kindle fire app here before you buy it for free:vyrso.com/iphoneVyrso has hundreds of great free Christian books (fiction and non fiction) you can get for a Kindle Fire. (It must be a Kindle Fire though and not a "regular kindle". Feel free to ask me if you're thinking of getting a book and are unsure of the author. Since I've gotten over 100 fiction books already, I've already determined whether many of the authors are scriptural or not.
(Amazon also has hundreds of good free Christian books you can download on your kindle and there are a number of other sites that exist just to point you to new free ones when they become available) One of the first things I imagine you and Leonard will want to get for your kindle fire is a good bible. I heartily recommend Logos bible, for a number of reasons. First, it's the best one you can get. It's the one I have all my books in, and second, if you have that, you have another way of getting free Christian books since that's where vyrso will put the books you order! Here's a link to the app, which is totally free of course:www.amazon.com/Faithlife-Corporation-Bible/dp/B0062RM1VQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1456677742&sr=8-1

I just realized that I forgot to mention some of my other favorite books. These authors are "creationists" and I love their books!
Timeflyer by Jeff Cargill.
TimeFlyer is an action-packed Christian science fiction action book. Steve Harrison, the main character, is a fighter pilot in the Air Force who is diligently seeking to honor God with his life. He feels directed to take the job of a test pilot for a top-secret military project in the Nevada desert. Jill, Steve's wife, is brilliant, but suffers from Asperger's syndrome, a mild form of autism characterized by intense concentration. She wants to be 'normal', and doesn't appreciate the gift of intelligence that God has given her. Dr. Choi Daesang escaped North Korea more than 15 years before. He is implementation director of the top-secret project. He is horrified to find that the North Koreans know where he is, and are determined to get him and his knowledge back to North Korea at any cost. The above-top-secret project, in which they are all involved, has built an aircraft that can fly back and forth in time. The first few missions go smoothly. However, the mission back 4,000 years reports physical features on Earth and in space that are totally unexpected. Steve and Jill realize they are seeing results from the global flood of Noah's time. The next mission is to fly back in time 8,000 years. Steve realizes that might be before the time of creation. He has to make a choice - fly the mission and risk the life of aircraft and crew, or refuse and risk a court-martial for disobeying orders.
Tonopah by Christopher A. Lane
She found the fossils out in the sun-baked Tonopah desert, along with more trouble than she'd ever dreamed of . . . . If Melissa Lewis had known that she and her three high school students were trespassing in a restricted military zone, they'd have left before they ever stumbled across the fossilized bones. As a creationist in paleontology, Melissa suspects she's onto something incredible. What she doesn't know is that she's under surveillance by U.S. Marines. And that's just for openers. Her discovery has also placed her in the cross-hairs of hired killers. And it's about to sweep her into a deadly vortex of top-level government scandal, FBI investigations, high-tech military maneuvers, and nuclear testing. Through it all, one thing becomes abundantly clear. Someone will do anything to gain possession of Melissa's fossils. Between Melissa and a hit man's bullet stands only her faith . . . and one courageous marine. But can he protect her from circumstances deadlier than the brutal Nevada desert? From the best-selling author of Appearance of Evil and Eden's Gate comes Tonopah: gut-twisting action woven with insights into the origins of the world and the relationship between personal choice and eternal destiny.
Eden's Gate by Christopher A. Lane
When Dr. Richard Grimm, the noted archaeologist, disappears in the Middle East under mysterious circumstances, Dr. Ben Lawrence is called in to take his place. A Christian and creationist, Ben is used to being pushed aside and ridiculed. This dig is his big break—the chance to discover the birthplace of humankind. But the trail of Dr. Grimm leads straight into enemy territory: northern Iraq.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Rogers is none too thrilled about her new boss on the dig. As the rebel daughter of Chinese missionaries, she considers Ben Lawrence as not only her opposite, but also her enemy. So why does she find herself to attracted to him?
Unknown to Ben and Jennifer, more than one person has a stake in this obscure Babylonian dig. A high-powered businessman, a TV news celebrity, FBI and CIA agents—all of them have an interest in the operation. Power, money—even lives—are at stake. And Jennifer and Ben are caught in the middle, battling forces beyond their control
From the author of the best-selling Appearance of Evil, Eden's Gate is a novel for our times. Belittled by colleagues for his creationist stance, archaeologist and Christian Ben Lawrence finds himself caught in a swirl of intrigue centered around an obscure dig in the Middle East. Unknown to Ben and his assistant, Jennifer Rogers, government and media personalities have an interest in the operation. Power, money, and lives are at stake as Ben and Jennifer battle forces beyond their control. Eden's Gate pits the political, intellectual, and monetary powers of the world against the Maker of the Universe--with explosive consequences. Also inquire about Appearance of Evil, the mystery best-seller in which twisted psychotherapy, mind control, and murder weave together into a stunning depiction of human depravity and the reality of Christ.
Appearance of Evil: A Novel by Christopher A. Lane Public defender Susan Gant gets her first big chance when she is assigned to defend Craig Hanson, a clinical psychiatrist who has confessed to the murder of a teenager and the sexual abuse of his own daughters. Now claiming that he was framed, Hanson begs Gant to investigate. As she digs into the facts, Gant begins to believe that her client is innocent, especially after she begins receiving threatening messages from someone calling himself Satan. Undeterred by the death threats, Gant discovers some potentially harmful practices in the psychiatric community and also begins to reexamine her own mixed feelings about God and religion. An exciting thriller with a multitude of twists and surprises, Lane's (Eden's Gate, Zondervan, 1994) novel is well recommended.

Long list of books and very thankful for the way you explained your collection. I am a slow reader , lately, and I am currently reading the Babylon Rising Series. I am really enjoying this series .I am currently reading Book 2. Almost half way finished. Back in the day, I could read a 400-500 page book in a couple of days. Now I am lucky to read a chapter or two a day. Tim LaHaye , great author. There are a couple of series , Cindy , that you posted that sparks my interest. I will most likely read after I finish the series I am on.

I'm glad you're enjoying them Mark. I love sharing with others when I find a really good book or series or a great author. I used to think it wasn't all that important, but in today's world where there are so very many that are filled with false assumptions and just plain false teaching, even if not especially in the fiction books, it now seems very important that we share with others the really good books we find that, fiction or not, are based solely on God's Truth.

I have another absolutely fantastic book to tell you about. The Lord Himself must have led me to this one, because it's not something I'd normally buy or read. In fact, when I got it, (It's free on amazon for Kindle) I figured I'd just buy it and read it "someday" basically when I didn't have anything better to read. But I kept getting this nagging thought that I should just go ahead and read it, so I did, and I'm so glad I did! The book is called:
Confessions of a Prayer Slacker by Diane Moody
I was expecting a very dry book, with a bunch of the usual "how to's" and all of that, but instead, found that the author simply shared her own story in a very honest, and witty way. I found myself laughing out loud constantly as I read! Dry is one thing this book is not! The author does a good job of explaining why we need to pray and that prayer includes Bible reading as well. She's honest about her own failings and because she's studied the subject to help herself, she shares what she's learned in order to help others. I picked up the book because I'm always looking for information that will not only help me with my walk, but will help others as well. This is one book that I'd love to be able to give as a gift to everyone I know, as I'm sure it will help everyone who reads it have a more intimate relationship with our Lord. I can't wait to meet this sister in Christ when we all get to heaven! Reading her book, felt more like she and I were sitting at my kitchen table chatting. It's really great and I highly recommend it to everyone!
There was only one sentence in the entire book that let me down a little bit. She mentions reading the OT as well as the new, which is good, that's what we should do. What disappointed me though was in this sentence, she suggested that everyone should read the OT all the way through at least once in their life. I was really shocked to hear that from her. I realized though, that many people don't read it at all, so I suppose she probably felt that encouraging them to read it once was a good start - and it is. My point though is that reading it once is not enough. We should know the OT every bit as well as we know the NT and we should know both better then we know anything else.
Bottom line: Please get this book, even if you think your prayer life is perfect. Trust me, you'll really enjoy it!
Let's face it. Most of us are clueless when it comes to praying. Why is that? And how come we've never done anything about it? In Confessions of a Prayer Slacker, author Diane Moody traces her own personal prayer journey with a touch of humor and a healthy dose of transparency.
''I want my readers to stop the merry-go-round of prayerlessness, quit acting like a bunch of spiritual babies, and get serious about this thing called prayer. Without it, we'll never experience the warm, one-on-one relationship God desires to have with each one of us.''
Right now it's free for kindle and under $5 for a paperback copy. Here's a link to it for you: Amazon

The reason I asked is the inter-librarian loan librarian has not been able to get oh maybe a half a dozen or more books for me because they are kindle only.
I am still waiting for hubby to buy me a kindle fire, but it still won't be for a couple of months because we have to pay Hossahah back for getting our car repaired ( she is paying half, but we still have the other half to pay back). Maybe for my birthday at this rate LOL
But thank you for continuing to list, because many are still paperback or hard cover so I still have plenty to read, but some I am waiting with bated breath to read when I get my kindle!!

Christopher A. Lane is the author of Eden’s Gate and the best-selling Appearance of Evil, as well as several children’s books, one of which was awarded a Gold Medallion. I thought I read some where it was a pseudonym? That's why I asked. Oh I remember...
I read it in the Amazon customer review section for the book Tonopah I will just copy a bit of the review and the part where he claims the author is a woman.
" I live literally adjacent to Nellis Air Force Base and have also worked radiology in Tonopah for 3 years in the past. I've been friends with security personnel at the NTS as well so the book most definitely got my attention. As a Christian man, I also appreciated the Faith aspect of the book....
A friend of mine from Tonopah coincidentally called me yesterday while I was reading this book. He told me that he worked with the author at the test site and that he's actually a she who took the pseudonym for credibility's sake. Strange that I could find no bio on the author at all, plus the short bio in the book said that the author is married with a wife and kids."

I finished Christopher Lane Tonopah and enjoyed it greatly ( be it a man or woman author LOL)
I know in the far past woman did write under male pseudonyms tho it doesn't seem necessary these days. Still there were parts of the book that seemed very much like a male author, but other parts seemed to have more of a woman's touch ( maybe he consulted with his wife for the female viewpoint? :-)
Also almost done with Prayer Slacker

I really loved Tonopah! I had to search a long time to find that book, and finally found it for sale at one of the creation sites. It's gained in popularity enough now that it's available on Amazon too. Prayer slacker was also good and made some good points. But now I've got to share two books that are really amazing! As usual, I know a few people who'd I'd love to give copies of these two books, including my sons.
When god breaks your heart: Choosing hope in the midst of faith-shattering circumstances. By Ed Underwood, Why is God letting this happen to me?
If you have never asked this question, you someday will.
There is perhaps no greater challenge to our faith than personal suffering. For pastor Ed Underwood this challenge came in the form of chronic leukemia. Though he prayed for and believed in God's healing, as the days slipped by and his pain became unbearable, Ed's heart was broken by a simple realization: The God who could do anything was not helping him. Yet a revelation from God's Word changed his heart and life forever.
In this poignant journey from tragedy to hope, Ed takes a fresh look at the story of Lazarus and his sisters—a story that explores suffering through the eyes of our Lord and His people. You'll find comfort during difficulty, be inspired to ask for the impossible, and discover a God whose heart breaks with yours.
"Author and pastor Ed Underwood delivers a message of faith and hope in answer to the painful question: "Why is God letting this happen to me?" He expresses the depth of his own suffering relating to his own "why me?" questions as he recounts the details of his agonizingly painful condition of untreatable chronic leukemia. With clarity he describes how God brought him back from the dark days and nights of his own deathbed. He explores the story of Lazarus, whom Jesus resurrected from the dead, and his sisters, Mary and Martha, who experienced questions, doubt, and loss of hope over their brother's death, all of which led to deep spiritual insights and renewed faith when they realized God can do anything, even raise someone from the dead."
Ed Underwood is the pastor of Church of the Open Door, a ministry dedicated to helping people fulfill their purpose in life. He is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and has served as an officer in the United States Army and a firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service. Ed and his family reside in southern California.
When God breaks your heart
Saving a life. By Charles Morris & Janet Morris
Young Jeff Morris never quite fit in. As a result, his behavior grew more destructive as he grew older. His parents diligently prayed for his life, all the while wondering, What will save our son? But when Jeff was found dead from a drug overdose, the resulting answers were anything but expected.
Saving a Life tells the intimate story of a family surviving unspeakable tragedy. Reeling from the aftershocks of their son’s death, the couple discovers that God is ever faithful, and that Christ is always present.

The Long Awakening: A memoir. By Lindsey O’Connor
“Be careful picking up The Long Awakening because you may be unable to put it down. With clear-eyed intelligence and heart, Lindsey O’Connor succeeds in taking her readers along on her journey through coma, awakening, and an arduous recovery aided by her family and, above all, her loving husband. This is a moving, intimate story, arrestingly written, that glimmers with a keen understanding of what matters.”
From the Inside Flap The riveting true story of a life-threatening coma, a miraculous awakening, and the long quest to regain what was lost.
The day our baby came into the world was the day I left. A day that began all smiles and excitement and anticipation and joy ended with running and panic and blood and tears. And then coma.
I lay suspended in the deep, my newborn unknown. Nothingness. Layers where dark pulled from below, light called from above, and me, trapped in between, longing to break the surface.
To live.
Forty-seven days later when I first saw my husband's face leaning close to me, I knew where, and who, I was. But other things took much longer to know. Learning to restitch life--and love--when everything's changed, and finding who we are afterward, can be the longest journey of all.
I'm Lindsey O'Connor, and this is the story of my long awakening.|Lindsey O'Connor is an author, a freelance journalist, and a speaker who has contributed to public radio's Weekend America, WashingtonPost.com, the Rocky Mountain News, Writer's Digest, Guideposts, and others. She has reported internationally, is a former broadcaster, was a finalist for an Audie Award, and is a member of the Association of Independents in Radio and the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
This is the book that I read that caused me to write the article, Why those books about heaven are so bad!

I added these to my opening post... I can't believe I forgot to add them originally!
My favorite devotionals:
Drawing Near: Daily Readings for a Deeper Faith by John MacArthur
"Like newborn babes, long for the pure milk of the word, that by it you may grow in respect to salvation." 1 Peter 2:2
It's a fact of life: our health declines if we don't nourish our bodies every day with food and water. That's true physically. It's true spiritually as well.
If we neglect to regularly feed our souls on the Holy Scriptures, our faith becomes weak and we start to lose touch with our Savior. Growth is stifled... if it happens at all.
Drawing Near, used daily in combination with God's Holy Word, can not only help bring you closer to God but also keep you from spiritual stagnation. This book will guide you in a growing relationship with Him.
As Pastor MacArthur says in his Introduction: "Our entertainment-conscious, quick-fix, fast-food society does everything it can to divert us from setting aside time to study God's Word. As you well know from your own efforts, Bible study is not often entertaining—it's hard work. It takes discipline to set aside time each day to reap the benefits such study has to offer. If you reach an impasse when it's time to sit down, open your Bible, and try to decide what to do, you're not alone. Without some plan to follow, it's easy to become frustrated and eventually give up after only one or two days. That's where this book comes in."
If you desire greater understanding of the precious Word of God, if you want a daily guide to draw you closer to the Lord, this outstanding collections of 365 devotional readings by one of America's most respected and trusted Bible teachers is for you!
Strength for Today: Daily Readings for a Deeper Faith by John MacArthur
"How blessed is the man whose strength is in You. . . ."
—Psalm 84:5, NASB
What a wonderful opportunity you have as a Christian in this modern age to open up the Bible and, with the leading of the Holy Spirit, glean its rich truths for yourself. Your vitality as a Christian depends on doing just that. For only through consistent Bible study and prayer do you gain the spiritual strength to navigate each day with wisdom, grace, and integrity.
Offering significantly more than the typical thematic or topical anecdotes of some other devotionals, the in-depth Bible exposition of this daily study gives you a firmer grasp on many of the great passages of Scripture—passages that speak at length of Christian character, the meaning behind Christ's death and resurrection, and how we benefit from life's trials.
After a year in God's Word with this book as your companion, you will find that both your walk with Christ and your faith have grown stronger—all because you committed yourself to a daily, in-depth study of the Scriptures, and to learning more about the God who is your Strength.
Heart of the Matter: Daily Reflections for Changing Hearts and Lives by The Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation
Start a Year of Deep-Down Change Today!
Change that goes deeper than the surface of our lives happens as we daily remember the truths of the gospel. Every day we need to be reminded that Jesus, God’s own Son, came to this world to save us from sin, sorrow, and death. We need to remember every day how Jesus’ life, death, resurrection, ascension, and promised return change the way we view ourselves and others. This devotional will be a daily reminder of these life-changing truths.
The 366 selections, anchored in Scripture and saturated with the gospel, will help the reader to:
Learn how God in his Word addresses a host of life situations Focus on how the gospel intersects with life Look beyond circumstances to God’s purposes See how God values relationship and to learn to value it too by persisting, by speaking truth in love, and by not shying away from conflict Grow in wisdom when confronted by life’s changes. Learn that God works change that is effective and visible.
Topics covered in the devotional include: love, hope, grace, redemption, faith, contentment, conflict, relationships, prayer, fear, patience, humility, and anger.
CCEF, The Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF) has been at the forefront of the biblical counseling movement for more than forty years with the mission to restore Christ to counseling and counseling to the local church. CCEF teaches people how to explore the wisdom and depth of the Bible and apply God's grace-centered message to the problems of daily living. CCEF does this through counseling, training, writing, and partnering with churches.
With these three devotionals, you will learn and understand the core truths of our faith and how to apply them to your life, something that is badly missing in the lives of many Christians today. Just as importantly, you'll come away with a closer relationship with the Lord. I view these three books as vitally essential for a Christians well being.

I am not quite clear on the long awakening...you said it cause you to write the article on why those books on Heaven are so bad.....is this one of the good or bad? I am thinking it is good, because she doesn't immediately wake up with this I saw a white light and Heaven scenario. But I am not 100 percent sure.

I am thinking it is good, because she doesn't immediately wake up with this I saw a white light and Heaven scenario. But I am not 100 percent sure. It's a wonderful book! (I'll never put a questionable book in this thread). It was because I read her book, that it opened my eyes to another very important reason why books about going to heaven are so dangerous and bad. She did not "go to heaven" when she died. I highly recommend this book, and think you'll really like it. It's a true story and very well told.

I recently saw a book I wanted to recommend to you Barbara. I was actually looking for books for my grandkids when I saw this one and thought it was perfect for you. It's by another of my favorite pastor/teachers, Josh McDowell. I took two of my children, Jennifer and Christopher when they were teens, and a couple of their friends to hear him talk and he was outstanding! Since then, I've read any number of his books and they're all great. So you can count on anything he writes as being scriptural. Although this particular book is written for teens, it's great for adults as well. You might want to click on McDowell's name and check out his author page and all the books he's written. He's written many for adults, for children, and for Sunday schools and youth groups. I was thinking though that there are quite a few that you might like for your grandchildren. He's written some that are fictional stories, like what we read, that explain scripture and Christian living to the youngsters. I know I'm going to be buying quite a few of them for Elijah and Grace for their birthdays and Christmas.
Resurrected--Experience Freedom from the Fear of Death (The Unshakable Truth® Journey Growth Guides) By Josh McDowell
Resurrected--Experience Freedom from the Fear of Death (The Unshakable Truth® Journey growth guide #8) focuses on the truth about Christ's resurrection. The truth that Christ rose from the grave and that his resurrection is a historical event assures us of eternal life and overcomes any fear of dying.
An entire generation of young Christians--along with millions of older believers--is confused about what they believe, why they believe it, and how it's relevant.
The Unshakable Truth Journey® Growth Guides are a series of 12 courses designed especially for churches, church classes, and small groups. They get to the heart of what being a true follower of Christ means and what knowing Christ is all about. Each five-session guide is based one of 12 core truths of the Christian faith presented in Josh and Sean McDowell's book The Unshakable Truth®.
Orthodox, hard-hitting, and relevant, these guides uniquely positioned for today's culture because they highlight how Christianity's beliefs affect relationships; promote a relational, group context in which Christians can experience the teaching in depth; and show believers how they can live out Christianity's central truths before their community and world.
More than just a program, The Unshakable Truth Journey® Growth Guides are a tool for long-term change and transformation!

Another book I just re-read and wanted to share is good for all Christians today and is by two more trustworthy authors/teachers.
What the Bible Teaches About Spiritual Warfare by Robert Dean, Thomas Ice
An up-to-date and thoroughly biblical analysis of the truths and popular fallacies of the role of Satan, demons, and their powers in the lives of Christians today.
Excellent book and 100% based on scripture, as it should be. Clears up a lot of false teachings and more importantly, shows how we are to fight back God's way. Great book and I heartily recommend it.
