OH, I've just been busting at the seams, all day. Ever since I read an update from our Sister Marianne. I wrote her to get permission to shout it out! She gave me her blessing, so here it is!
In July of last year our dear sister, Marianne, was diagnosed with cancer, (Squamous Cell Carcinoma) after her doctors found a mass in her chest. When the mass began to grow, she was given the option to have chemo and radiation, but opted not to let this happen, and put all her faith and trust in our Lord, for her healing. She has suffered tremendous pain, but her faith never faltered. We've been in prayer whole-heartedly for this dear woman, and the Lord has His hand on her for sure. In February, the tumor, which is wrapped around her heart, became dormant. This morning, I read her update on how she is doing.
Marianne wrote: God is good, I have some wonderful news today.... the report that came back from my last CT Scan was not read right by me... here I thought that the tumor had grown by 2cm... but, it did not grow..... and I am CANCER FREE. PRAISE JESUS FOR HEARING OUR PRAYERS AND ANSWERING.... I have been CANCER FREE since Jan of this year... that's when I had my last CT Scan done.. when I was in the hospital... I am so Grateful to the Lord.... for this good news today... actually I am overwhelmed.... all of us who are sick... must continue to keep our faith and not give up.... giving up is the worse thing you can do.... Trust in God at all times... I need to go to the Pharmacy and pick up the antibiotics that my doctor prescribed... as I do have pneumonia...my nurse wrote this down for me this morning when she visited... it's called "Small Pleura Effusion" so, I will be taking antibiotics for this.... I am to get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids.... Please continue to pray that I will continue on this path of remission...and recovery.... I love you all very much and will continue to pray for you all too...... XO

Cheryl.. thank you so much for posting this Praise Report ... God is so good.. I talked to Him everyday.. and asked that if it be His Will... that I would recover from this cancer... I prayed daily for all those who are suffering with cancer and other diseases... those who are going through many trials.. and persecution.. I always wanted to go in the Rapture, but... who am I...I'm no better than anyone else... if the Lord wanted me to go home earlier... then so be it... either way would be fine.. as I would see Jesus face to face and all my family and friends who have gone on before me.... but, in my heart I knew that my work on this earth is not finished..there are more family members and friends to be saved.
Last week when I went to see my family doctor, it was the first time.. he told me that there was no doubt in his mind that if I had Chemo/Radiation... I would either be gone already or on my way out... to hear a doctor say that... is amazing ... the Lord never left me, nor did He forsake me.. I continued to Trust in Him... and kept my focus on the Lord all day... ate a good diet.. stayed away from sugar..cancer loves sugar ... and ate foods that kept my blood alkaline..
This tumor will still be monitored every three months... I am having more blood work next Wednesday... the creatinine level on my kidney's went up a little.. and the doctor is concerned..(as so many of you do) but, I believe that it's from the pneumonia... and not drinking enough fluids... so that must change... I think now that the cancer cells have died... and this has been since Jan. this year... that the tumor may start shrinking... this I have to talk with my doctor about... my next appointment with him is in ...July... he's very busy... but, hopefully I can get one of the Nurses' to relay the message to him... and I wanted to explain the part about me.. reading my own report... I can get my test results online... it's called 'My Chart'... and it gives me my test results... and what blood work I've had... and CT Scan's and MRI's that I've had.. but, evident-ally this does not give the patient all the information... So, when they called me and told me the results over the phone.. I was in shock.. I couldn't Praise the Lord. enough.... God still heals...and He will continue to heal... until we are home with Him in Eternity... Thank you, to each and everyone of you for praying for me.. my heart is overwhelmed with Joy is knowing that Our Father, heart all your prayers... and answered... it's a miracle.. and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart...I love you all very much.. and will continue to pray for each and everyone of you

Praise the Lord!!!
Yeah chemo seems a very cruel way to deal with cancer, since a person is already so sick. Leonard's brother has been having chemo for over a year, and every time we hear from him, the diagnosis just gets worse and worse, its now in his lymph glands, and they have given him 2 years tops to live....... but, they are still giving him Chemo..... so he is feeling terrible.

Barbara.. I am so sorry to hear about Leonard's brother.. have the doctor's mentioned why it's taking so long for the Chemo to work? ... and has the cancer spread, or is it in one area? One more thing... cancer loves sugar, so no sugar in his diet at all.. also, he needs to keep his blood alkaline.. meaning.. he needs to eat food like celery... he can even juice the celery or his caretaker can do this for him.. you can google, how to keep blood alkaline.. and you will see the food the body needs, when the blood is acidic that's when disease presents itself.. he can talk to his doctor about having blood work to see where his numbers are.. in the morning.. squeeze a 1/2 lemon in warm spring water.. (bottle water) 1 cup of water is enough.. drink this first thing in the morning.. this helps the blood stay alkaline.. and cleanses any toxins in the body...
I prayed and talked to the Lord... just as you all do.. of course I put my Trust in Him first.. then came..diet.. looking for anything and reading anything the Lord led me too.. I hope this helps... Barbara
I will keep him in my prayers... I would imagine there is a prayer thread in the Prayer Forum... I will go there and pray.. for him...

Thank you so much Marianne Yes Leonard's brother's cancer has spread....I am not sure ( as Leonard talks to him mostly and almost totally about the cancer) but I sort of got the idea that when the cancer spread to Chuck's lymphs.....its in several other areas.....the Doc's kind of gave up in a way.....they told him he has about 2 years to live at most. But it seems he is taking yet more chemo because a few days when he was talking to Leonard he had to stop because he was feeling so sick.
However, thank you sooooo much for the info....I knew about the candy but not about celery
I do lots of smoothies and I usually put a lemon in and recently starting 'sneaking in' celery....just to get more veggies am a fruit/berry person....which is sugar and carbs....
so I have slowly been adding spinach and the like
to my fruit/berry/ and nut smoothies.
I don't think Leonard brother Chuck is a believer but you info is still something I will remember if he ever opens the door to some other ideas besides just Chemo.
And for sure, it is a good thing for us to know. Unfortunately I am struggling with a sugar addiction ( candy, donuts etc.)
I have cut back a LOT but need to much more even.

Your very welcome Barbara.... you can eat your berries.. and other fruits that you put into your smoothies... that's natural sugar... the sugar that we need to stay away from is anything that contains fructose.... that's the bad stuff...
Wouldn't it be wonderful if Leonard's brother would read this... because, even though he has had Chemo.. he can start doing this anytime... but, He definitely needs the Lord... without Him.. I know I would not be cancer free... because, I had no treatments... I trusted fully in the Lord.. if he has not accepted the Lord.. than that would be the first thing to do.. then healing will follow..

I agree Marianne, the most important thing is being saved by Jesus.....Chuck is a mostly technophobe....I am not sure he even hs a computer....or a cell phone? He was a bartender for a large part of his life, but a very good sculpture also. But I think since childhood he had so many negatives in his life ( as did all the siblings) he either choose to blame God or ignore him....maybe both. But I am praying for him.

All Glory goes to Him.... Thank you, Lulu, Cindy, blueacoustic.. good to see you again.. I had nothing to do with this.. other then pray and change of diet... the most important factor were your prayers... and keeping the faith.. no matter how I felt...
Barbara, I am keeping Chuck in my prayers... and all those who are going through sickness... all kinds of trials and tribulation...

Barbara, it's somewhat unusual to see people without computer or cell phone... these days.... I was going to tell you, that even though Chuck has had Chemo and I think you mentioned Radiation.. he can still eat healthy... he should get that blood more alkaline... and stay away from sugar.. it doesn't matter whether the cancer has spread.. the cancer cells can still die.. no matter where they are located... maybe if Leonard speaks to him... he will listen and start watching what he eats... it's certainly worth a try...

Thank you Marianne We are in a toss up between telling him your helpful ideas or about salvation. But when Leonard even mentioned prayer, Chuck just said, he wasn't feeling well and had to go and hung up. The other bit of news is he is having hospice at home?
Leonard said, he thinks Chuck has given up and is not interested in either, and it doesn't sound like he really can stay on the phone....I almost felt like it was his last call to Leonard....it seemed final, and Leonard was pretty down for awhile.
so if we get to talk to him again.....maybe but one thing for sure, if you get a chance please pray for him....first about salvation and that his heart will be soften and open to the Lord, and also to trying to eat....but I am not sure he is even eating....I think he has been tube feed at least on and off for awhile.....his throat was one place the cancer was/is I am not sure cuz he talks almost exclusively to Leonard and Leonard doesn't always want to go over all those details with me....I think it could be too depressing? Plus, Leonard has a lot of other stuff on his plate. Tomorrow he goes sees the specialist about his toe ( infection is in the bone) Most likely they will be talking about surgery/amputation. I am hoping our son will soon give us an update on how Liam is doing. And for one thing ( besides having to take both grandkids to school, pick them up, pick up daughter at work each day, clean the B&B for our landlord etc etc/ He has been helping a 50 something friend get ready for his heart surgery next Monday..... Plus he has diabetes and some heart issues and on it goes So if you have any time please pray for Leonard also as well as Chuck and will keep an eye out for an opportunity to talk to him. I just wish we had know several months sooner!!!!

I know the Lord will see to it that all goes well... and Leonard with recover quickly... with Chuck.. sounds like he has given up... if he had the Lord.. I think... his faith would keep him strong and positive.. and no matter who is coming to his home.. for his care... he would still keep that positive view... I think the important thing and I think we would all agree right now would be salvation..
Liam is a beautiful baby... saw the photo of him... and he's very alert.. God bless him.. hopefully, his recovery will be quick and complete.. in Jesus name.

Thank you and it was good news for Leonard also! :-) Your welcome Barbara... hopefully, Liam is doing much better.. and home now... and Leonard is doing better also.. I've been sick.. it's one thing after another... I was allergic to two different antibiotics.. they made me very sick... now, I am recovering from that... then I am getting conflicting reports.. concerning the cancer... two nurses told me that the cancer cells were gone... my doctor read the report..and gave the nurses' the information... now, my Palliative care nurse wanted to know where the nurses got that information and she is going to do more research into this... I am still believing that all cancer cells are gone..since I was told by two nurses' and was given the information from my doctor.. Please continue to pray that the cancer cells are gone...I am having trouble sleeping., so I am up early this morning... I've been having lots of pain... so, that doesn't help me in the sleeping dept... Thanks for prayers.....they are deeply appreciated....

I am so sorry you are feeling badly. It seems weird they are giving you conflicting info. However, on a smaller scale, they did that with Leonard. The radiologist said the infection had spread to the bone but when he saw the specialist...who ordered an MRI it said: not so.
Yes, I will pray for you of course. Keep us posted.

I just wish they would get their findings in order... I think one of the main problems is, there are too many involved.. and they look at the same report and get different views.. well.. this is my life.. and Leonards life.. and so many other's lives... so, I pray they get their act together...

Exactly. I have even heard one radiologist say ( more or less, not exact words) of another radiologist: " Oh he is always 'finding' the worst and/or writes it up as the worst case scenario.
But how would we know, which one is really right? On the one hand, I wonder, hummmmm would he get some kind of 'kick-back' from surgeons, if he makes it seem so dire, surgery is the only option? Yet, on the other hand, what if it true?
It reminds me a little of today's 'fake news'. I personally tend not to believe main stream media any more, but I also have moments of questioning alt-right ( every now and again).
Well, as far as Leonard goes, his toe is not bothering him now and its been good for a couple of weeks now, I think.....so prob. its a good thing the surgeon did not want to operate!!!
