From Ruthanne:
"The Jesus filter. Everything that happens to me I have to look through the filter and find Jesus."
I love this quote! I'm going to copy it so I remember it. Reminds me of Romans 8:28.

I'm so glad that now you have new friends, who you can interact with now. Yes, we had that sun, here too. I mistakenly thought it was warm out there, and stepped outside, and did an about-face and went right back in to get my jacket.
How did you fare in that awful storm? The weather news said that it started in Oklahoma and came East. That storm was scary. For the first time, in 5 years, I actually got into my garage for a couple of hours. I've seen many of these tornadoes remove an entire home from it's foundation, but my garage is more sturdy that my sectional home. The city sirens started going off, and I'm sorry, but that just wigs me out, when I hear them. I tried to call my neighbors, who don't even have a garage to protect them, and all circuits were busy. I couldn't get through. So, I came back into the house and got on FB and sent her a private message. I found out that she was alone, with the children, and her hubby was at work. So, I told her to get over here, with me. I suggested that she drive over, to prevent getting stranded half way over, if the storm reached us, before she could get here. I'm glad she did, because just as she was carrying her daughter inside, the rain came down with a vengeance, and the flag pole was swaying over. I thought it was going to break off! We stayed in there for quite a while, listening to the rain slam the garage. I was praying several times, asking the Lord to keep the clouds in the sky, and let it calm. The storm finally blew over, and we stood out in my driveway, watching it East of us, and it looked very fierce. My weather radio said it was moving at 70 mph. Found out the next day that a roof blew off an area, over at the state prison, where our other neighbor works. He arrived at work 15 minutes after it happened. Two staff members were injured in that storm. Cindy, I replied to the first part of your post, in the pain forum. But, I'm happy to see that you are feeling better. And CONGRATULATIONS to Bruce, about his raise! That will be a big help to you and Bruce! I too, hope that what type of plan Trump comes up with, will help us too. I couldn't afford insurance, before obamacare, and then when it kicked in, I REALLY couldn't afford it. Obamacare wanted to take ALL of my earnings and some of Ed's, just to cover me. That was so awful. Especially since the deductible would have been $4000 and I would have never reached it. And we wouldn't have had any money left, at ALL. So, I didn't take the insurance. As a result, when I DID have an emergency, I didn't have insurance at all.
Wow, that sounds like quite a mean storm Cheryl! I'm so glad you were kept safe and your neighbors as well. Praise God!!!! The storm that knocked out the electricity here really surprised me as it didn't see that bad. Not like yours at all. Our electricity kept going off and on all day but thousands lost their electricity for good. What's really weird is that the cause of the electricity going out was only a few doors down from my house. it was around the corner so I couldn't see it. Bruce told me about it when he got home. I HUGE tree came down by the roots and fell directly in between two mobile homes bringing the wires with it! The wires were actually down on the ground from there to the next corner, about 6 more houses away! And yet I kept my electricity for the most part while others had none at all all day! Amazing!
I hear you about the insurance. That's where most folks are at, including us. Bruce has insurance, but not me. And his doesn't pay for dental and other stuff. But all in all, it's better than nothing. Now days I'd say it was one of the best, but I can't afford it for me.
Good morning everyone.I can finally say it and it's still morning! Cindy,I read this whole page last night and a couple of things hit me.One,I haven't been here so I haven't known how bad your flare-up or flu or fatigue was as bad as I have ever heard it.I am so sorry and pray you are on the up-swing.Two,you said you felt the Lord strengthening you when Jenn and the kids came over and you were able to have a wonderful time. And I think it is so awesome, that the Lord played Yahtzee with all of you. That makes me happy.Three, after worrying about Bruce's job when he was having to take all those days off,and now he's got a raise! How have his migraines been? And has his RA reached your level yet? After being alone with the Lord(mostly) for the past year,I seem to have a Jesus filter.Best I can describe it,though I'm sure you all have it but know the right name for it.Remember when I told y'all after Larry died I felt God's forcefield around me?Well He took that away four days after surgery, and of course, being a drama queen,I totally lost it.I don't even know how the surgeon got my chest tubes out as I was sobbing so hard and not asking for the Lord,I wanted Larry. He would have been able to talk me thru it or just held me,or just been there for me.I AM STOPPING THIS TRAIN OF THOUGHT AS IT WASN"T WHERE I was going anyway. The Jesus filter.Everything that happens to me I have to look through the filter and find Jesus. When I do the confusion leaves my mind and I can think through whatever is happening and get through whatever is upon me.I did not mean to cap that sentence.Jesus.You know if this had happened 2 yrs ago,I would have counted on Larry and Jesus second. Not right, but it's how we were. Lulu, thank God Ron got a job!I had no doubt.I can tell your posts are getting happier cause the garden is coming and outside activities.I hope everyone has a great spring and summer. I can't possibly talk to everyone as my eyes are closing,so my love to all and will try to get to my prayer request thread,Love Ruthanne Bless your heart, you're such a sweetie Ruthanne! The Lord sure is wonderful and I think He likes to play Yahtzee - at least with Gracie anyway LOL. No, Bruce hasn't had anymore migraines thank the Lord! His RA has remained stable thanks to the Lord and the methotrexate he's on. The doc said it was still about a "2" on the scale of 1 - 10 and that mine was still an "8". It breaks my heart to think of younger people having this and having it so much worse than mine and having to deal with raising young children at the same time. My daughter has a close friend who has this problem. She's such a sweet girl and my heart breaks for her.
"The Jesus filter.Everything that happens to me I have to look through the filter and find Jesus." Beautifully said Ruthanne! I'm putting that quote in my bible right now as I don't ever want to forget it! ... I put it in a note on Phil 4:8 since that tells us what kind of things to think about anyway. I wrote: "March 2017. Ruthanne said: "The Jesus filter. Everything that happens to me I have to look through the filter and find Jesus." Awesome!!!!"
You're doing so well Ruthanne. I know it must be very hard, but your light is shining bright! From Ruthanne: "The Jesus filter. Everything that happens to me I have to look through the filter and find Jesus." I love this quote! I'm going to copy it so I remember it. Reminds me of Romans 8:28. yeah, that would be another good place to put it... maybe I'll stick it there as well!
Ruthanne, you're going to be in a lot of folks bibles now! I know that quote will help me a lot and I hope you'll let me share it with others that it would help as well. I'd like to tell my grandkids to start with as I think it would help them a lot.
I'm running late today so I've gotta get over the bible study forum. You all take care. See you later!

Wow Cindy I soooooo relate to your definition of that kind of tired..... and no matter how much you sleep you still feel weak and only go to the bathroom because otherwise will have an accident!
Ruthanne: I totally agree with Cheryl, that was NOT being a drama queen!!! It did make me cry tho for you.
Cheryl: How scary....tornadoes seem so so scary
What is strange is we get those high winds on the coast a LOT.... only.... NOT as a tornado.... just high winds and rain.

Hello everyone. It's been kind of a busy couple of weeks. My mother came to visit for a few days and we had a lovely time. I've started back walking at the mall a few mornings a week, so Monday morning I dragged Mother along. We walked for 30 minutes then hit up Bojangles and undid all the good we'd just accomplished with that walk... and for ALL my walks to come this week! Haha!
Cindy, you asked about my sister a few weeks ago and I never responded. She is doing well at the moment, but back after Christmas her c-diff infection flared and she was sick for awhile after that. She saw a new GI doctor who wanted to do a colonoscopy, which she did, three weeks ago today. Well, it didn't go so well for her but thankfully everything was normal so that is a HUGE praise. My mom ended going up to visit and help for a few days because she had such trouble immediately after [the colonoscopy], but all is well now.
Lots of happy and sad things going on at church right now. Our new pastor began this past Sunday and it was a WONDERFUL service where we strongly felt the presence of the Lord. The pastor gave his testimony, which was amazing (if anyone would like to hear it via the online link let me know and I'll send it to you). We also have a dear, longtime member who is on hospice for cancer and expected to go anytime, and a few other sad situations. I guess that is normal in the life of a church.
I guess that is all for now - talk to you all later!

I guess that is all for now - talk to you all later! I'm glad the colonscopy is over and that it turned out well for her. I hate even the thought of having one and so far have avoided it like the plague lol. Is C-diff her primary diagnosis? Is there anything specific you want me to add to my prayers for her? Lately they've been kind of general as I wasn't really sure what was going on with her health wise.
I'm so glad you all have another wonderful pastor to lead you. What a great blessing that is! I'm sure many of us would enjoy hearing his testimony if you could post the link to it for us. I'm sorry to hear that one of your members is so sick though.
How is John doing? I'm still praying for him as well as for you and the migraines. I sure hope you haven't had any of those for awhile! I sure do miss hearing from you, but I realize you're very busy.
Well, I'm having lessons in vanity and trust (again lol) My dentures are 17 years old which I'm told is unheard of, but they finally began to crack so I knew I had to get them fixed or else I'd have to get brand new ones. No way we can afford new ones without dental insurance though, so I prayed hard that the dentist would be able to fix them for me. What made it harder for me is the dentist I've seen for the last 30 years retired a few months ago. He even made my dentures for me himself and did a great job of it. Since I have a hard time trusting doctors (including dentists) I had to pray hard that the Lord would help me trust the new guy and that the Lord would enable him to fix my dentures at a price that we would be able to afford. When I called to make an appointment though, I was told it would cost us $83 dollars just to walk in the door and more if he did anything! I couldn't believe it. I even told her that Dr Jane had made my dentures and he never charged me for coming in to see if he could fix them. He only charged me if he actually did something. Well, she said she was sorry, but there was nothing she could do about it. That's just how it was now. So of course I went running to the Lord telling Him how there was no way I could afford that plus however much it would cost to fix them - which I assumed wouldn't be cheap. I had to make the appointment though because if I didn't, I wouldn't have any dentures to wear once they broke all the way through. So we went in to see the dentist last night after supper. He was astounded that my dentures had lasted as long as they did and agreed that they had to be fixed. He asked how they fit and I told him "perfectly". He didn't believe me that dentures that old could still fit so well, so insisted on checking for himself. When he did, he saw that they did in fact fit perfectly lol, and I refrained from telling him "I told you so" LOL. Anyway, he told me that I had two choices. I could get a new pair of dentures - which I immediately told him there was no way I could afford that at this time, or I could get these fixed. He said it would cost $300 to fix them. I started adding in my mind because I knew that this appointment was already costing me at least $83 plus whatever it would cost to make the impression of my dentures. I guess he could tell I was trying to figure something out, because he then said something beautiful to my ears. He said he wouldn't charge me for this appointment! Praise God! Talk about a relief, as I knew that would have added another $100 or more to the total. We don't have $300 "extra" for anything, but I told him to go ahead and do it. I knew I'd have to pay it before I left the office but as I hadn't paid any of our bills except the park rent yet, I knew we had it in the bank. I'll figure out how do juggle our regular bills tomorrow. So he took my dentures to send to the lab. They're hoping to get them back by Friday but it is more likely they'll get them back next Monday. So till then, I'm without teeth. No food for me except liquids or stuff like applesauce and pudding and hot cereal or carnation instant breakfast.
Now I have to figure out how I'm going to make it to the dentist to pick up my dentures when they're done. It looks like I may need my daughter to bring me if they do get in on Friday as they're only open until 2pm that day. It sure feels weird not to have them in my mouth. I never took them out in the last 17 years except for the 3 minutes a day it takes to clean them.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hope everyone is doing good. Taking it easy this afternoon and evening after doing laundry this morning. I'm going to ask the management if the dryer vent can be cleaned. It takes so long for clothes to dry. One lady here told me they cleaned hers and found a bird's nest in it. Then they installed a cover over the vent. I looked outside at ours and there is already a cover there.

If the air is only slight or not at all, you do have a clog, or the flex hose has come apart. OK, you knew that, but you know me, LOL, I always can't help myself, making suggestions. Actually it was only a few months ago, I had wondered if the flex line came off the back of the dryer, because I was having the same issue. So, Ed had me go outside and check it too.

I can't do that here because the vent is way up near the roof line. (Our apartment is on the first floor) I know one problem with it is that the dryer is in the front of the apartment and the vent hose goes all the way across the apartment to the outside. That's a long way for the air to flow. But that's the way it was built. Ran errands today. Hugs to everyone.

Good day ladies. Leigh, after your church carefully planned for a good pastor, I am glad that you all are happy with your new pastor, that is a blessing.
I am enjoying the warm weather. I have been doing outdoors work and getting as much of that work done as possible before it get to hot to work outdoors. Cindy, how is the weather? I was in the back bedroom and barely heard something about a northeaster that was going to bring stormy weather to the east coast. Bucky has been taking many horses out and about to give horse rides, best to ride a horse in cool weather, the summer heat is to much to enjoy a ride, I think. Art died, the sheriffs report said suicide, but confusing because it also said 901n, ( possibly natural cause). He was going to go to a hospice and did not want to go there. Also sad news Wayne's son in law had a failed attempt at suicide, so he is in the hospital. His daughter has Christian family support, so that is good. Well I am off, I started reading the book of Samuel, so I want to finish reading that. The birds here are singing during the day, I am still giving them birdseed and water, I enjoy listening to them. Saw a coyote two days ago, awesome. bye for now.

The maintenance man came this morning to work on the dryer vent. He got a really tall ladder, climbed up to the outside vent, removed the plastic mesh cover and pulled out a big handful of lint. Next he will work on the vent from the inside.
My daughter was here yesterday and we went out to lunch for Mexican food - my favorite. Today is sunny but pretty cool with wind.
Hugs to all.

I thought I had responded to your reply, before, but I don't see it. One of these days, I will get that I can't just "think" a reply, I have to actually type my reply. But, when I read that your dryer vent is way higher than your dryer, I was floored. There would have to be an awful lot of air pressure in that line to push the lint out the vent. And dryers just do not provide that type of pressure. And then when I read your second post, I realized that my thoughts are not too far fetched. I am surprised that there has never been a fire. That vent (in my thinking) needs to be not only closer to the dryer source, but lower or even with the dryer. I am so glad that the maintenance guy responded quickly, and got that out of there, and also checked it from the inside. I hope that he will come back, on a regular basis, to clean it out, now.
I love Mexican food too. I don't care for the "heat", but I do love the flavor. I leave out the chili peppers and such that takes away from the flavor.

Saw a coyote two days ago, awesome. bye for now. OH, Anna, I'm so sorry about your friend, Art. I hope that they do find that it was natural causes and not suicide. I haven't been here long enough to really know that Art was ill, so it was a surprise. Is he the one with the horses? I'm not sure who Wayne is, but it is sad news that he attempted suicide. I pray that the Lord will speak to his heart and help him through his troubles, and help him to the path of our Lord.
I love to listen to the birds singing too. I need to go out back and straighten my bird feeder pole. The straight-line winds, we've been getting, bent it and it's leaning over. I need to refill the feeders too, but it's not been great weather and I don't like that white stuff. We had a little on Saturday, but it melted before the afternoon. We got more today, but it stopped by noon and there are traces out there, but not much. But, it is COLD! I heard about the Nor'easter that Cindy and all of them out East are going to get. They are already canceling school for Wednesday, and warning people to stay indoors, and off the streets, so the plows will be able to get through. But, they were mostly talking about New York, but if NY is getting it, I know Cindy will too. Be safe Cindy and Bruce!! And also, Marianne!

Cindy, thank you for renewing your Domain Name. I went to log in and found that it had expired, but I checked with Lulu and Ron, just to make sure it wasn't just my browser, or something. And they said they weren't able to sign in either. Thank you for posting on FB, the reason why.

I pray you have a blessed day today Cheryl. I also noticed that the domain name needed to be renewed, thank you Cindy. i have been hearing about straight line winds, Michael a Bible study teacher I listen to said that that would be on the increase and also an increase of volcanic ash in the air, or glass particles that people breath into their lungs. I heard that Canada is getting wind of 120 mph.

She is still working on it, and has started a thread in the support board to get help. She says she misses everyone and will hopefully be able to get back in by tomorrow. If she updates again, I'll let y'all know.
Yes, I feel what you said there about it would be on the increase. I feel it. For the first time, in the 5 years that I've lived in this house, I took cover in my garage. I think it might also have something to do with losing Ed. I feel very vulnerable and weak right now. But, that storm didn't feel the same. Call me crazy..........but the sky seemed angry. And the thunder is so loud it shakes the house, and rattles my nerves.

The Lord got me back on FH when humans couldn't! Praise God! Seriously, I've been trying everything, and nothing worked. But suddenly, out of nowhere, I clicked on the tab for FH, that always showed me logged off and wouldn't let me log on, and I was logged on again, even though I hadn't done anything! That's how I know the Lord did it, cause the last time I looked at the page, just a short time earlier, I was logged off LOL. God is so very, very good to us. It would be so great if He just took care of the big things, but He goes even further and takes care of even the smallest things that concern us. Thank you so much Lord!
I'm so sorry that you all got caught up in the domain name being renewed. I had set it up to do it automatically just so that wouldn't happen. But you know the old saying... the best laid plans... LOL. Well something went wrong, and by the time I realized it, Grace Net was closed for the weekend. If they were hosting our site, like they used to, I could have gotten help over the weekend, but since they only handle our domain name, I couldn't. So it had to wait till Monday. Hopefully that won't happen again.
I'm glad you got the dryer situation taken care of Margie. May I give you a tip I recently discovered about cutting down dryer time? I have a small dryer and it's very, very old and takes 2 hours to dry one load of laundry. So when I saw this tip, I had to try it, and it really does work, and cuts drying time in half! All you have to do is put a bath towel in your dryer, on top of the wet clothes. For some reason, it really does cut the drying time in half! The only time it doesn't cut it in half for me is if I'm drying a bunch of jeans. Then it cuts it down by a fourth. So still helps a lot.
If the Lord lays it on your heart, would you guys say a prayer for my neighbor Nancy? She called me over the weekend in tears. She hadn't slept for two night due to hurting her roatator cuff, which is seriously painful. Anyone who's had a frozen shoulder knows how much it hurts. She went to the ER and wound up having to wait for 5 and a half hours! That just never happens here, but did this time. I guess they had a lot of accidents that night. Anyway, she called me when she got home and was so tired and in so much pain. My heart ached for her. She was afraid she wouldn't be able to sleep again, so I told her I'd pray for her and did. Bless the Lord's heart, He answered my prayer and she slept straight through the night - something she hasn't done in years since she too lives with pain. She was so thrilled she called me the next day to let me know. I told her I'd keep praying and that if there was anything I could do to help to let me know. Bruce had already done all the snow blowing and shoveling for her and our other neighbor, Barbara, as well as ours, which she was thankful for. But if you all would say a prayer for her, I know she'd appreciate it.
Bruce called in to work this morning and told them he "had a two hour delay" . (because all the schools had two hour delays today because of the blizzard) He needed the time to again clear all three driveways and paths to and from each house for us and our neighbors. (Nancy is disabled and her husband is a truck driver and gone right now, and Barbara is a widow) He's at work resting now LOL, bless his heart.
We haven't done much so far this week due to the blizzard.
I hope you all have been doing well and have a good day today. I'd better run and check the bible study thread before Barbara thinks I've deserted her! I've been wanting to try drawing a picture again, even though I'm terrible at it. I added this button a long time ago and keep forgetting about it. The button has a paintbrush on it and with it you can draw anything and post it. Once you click save, it will disappear, but never fear, when you click post it will show up on your post!

OK I am posting a bird that I just drew, it is silly but fun. I had to go to town today, obviously I'm back. This morning I ate a handful of young tumbleweed plant, then I thought, I think it is not poisonous, I should have read about it first to make sure. Well it was good that I only at a small amount. The article I read said that a small amount of the plant and flower are good for a person but a large amount is poisonous.

I love all your drawings! It's fun to do isn't it? You guys did a lot better than I did, especially your bird Marlene! OK I am posting a bird that I just drew, it is silly but fun. Yikes, I'd have been too scared to eat it! I just love your bird though... I wish I could draw like that! Here I am after weekend of Forum software playing game on FH database I am glad I am back here I been posting on my FB profile and that Diginet FB page by some dude by name of TeeVee Guyd we posting about new ota channels like Chargs, Comet and other like Light tv Good to see you back Kelly!Silly Cindy LOLOL I knew you wouldn't desert me............you wouldn't right? ha ha!

Do tell Leonard though, I'd love to see his drawings and yours too if you want to!That's weird... I wonder why it didn't copy your drawing to my post like it did the others? Maybe there's a limit to how many you can quote, but I didn't think so. I've tried it twice though and it just won't copy it for some reason. I liked it though. You make a good coffee cup, lol
I've got to work on the bills today and order our meds and stuff like that. So I've got to get busy soon or I won't get it all done. But first I'm off to the bible study threads. Have a good day everyone!

Cindy posted: "All you have to do is put a bath towel in your dryer, on top of the wet clothes."
Yes, I had saw that tip a while back and that's what I've been doing. The dryer is better but I asked the maintenance guy if he could use one of those long "snake" things to clean it and he said he would.
Cool winds today. Had lunch with my Sunday School. The food was just average but I enjoyed being with them.
Hugs.

Yes, we try to keep ours cleaned out too. The people who owned the house before us, put the dryer vent in a really bad place though. It comes out right underneath our back porch. So in the winter when I use the dryer, it melts any snow on the porch and turns it to ice. Not to mention that it makes it hard to get to in order to clean it out. Bruce plans on moving it and I really hope he does so this spring or summer. I guess I'll have to remind him.
Elijah's off camping with the scouts this weekend, so he's all excited about that. Later this month he graduates from cub scouts to boy scouts. I sure wish they wouldn't grow up so fast. I miss having him climb up on my lap and cuddle.

We had a strange thing happen with a semi-wild cat we have been feeding for the last couple of years.
Last week, it "SEEMED" like he had a total change of heart and decided we could pet him!!!!
At first, I was so shocked I wondered, is this really Sunny? ....he did seem somehow a little different...I couldn't put my finger on it tho.
But then ,even tho he was rubbing against my leg, and I was petting him, he all of a sudden gave his usual scared hiss..... and I thought yup, that's him alright.
But then.....
yesterday afternoon, I saw (and heard) "Sunny" crying on the roof of the garage next door. So I thought, well I will get him some food ,and he will figure out how to get down if he is stuck.
So when I came out the door with food...... what do I see.....double Sunny!!!
There was a Sunny clone!!!
The new friendly version was NOT the real Sunny at all.
I texted our daughter ( who lives next door) and she chirps backs: "Oh cool, twinsies"
Can I insert a roll eyes her LOL
I am going to point out to her, hopefully sometime today.... she already has 'twinsies' ( 2 female black cats)
Sooooooo
She could work on taming these two yellow boys ( I think they are both boys....Sunny the real one is)
and have yellow 'bookends' male cats, to go with her female black cats
Twinsies my foot!! HA!

I guess that is unusual that both of the cats look alike. Do you think the cats are from the same litter? I would think so. I used to have a feral cat that lived under my mobile home and I gave him water, but he always kept his distance, about 30 feet away from me, but the cat liked me because it was always there when I went for a walk, just hiding, then he would step out from behind a tree so I could see him and say something to him. I named him Orange, because he had an orange coat of fur.

Yes Anna that they are from the same litter is a possibility. But I don't think so....but one might be the father? There used to be a guy would lived in our neighborhood who had tons of cats. the cats kept having litters. He was always trying to play catch up and get them spayed or neutered, but there were tooo many and he could not afford to do them all at once. I am not sure they were his cats to begin with or were pets left behind that he was feeding. I think at least one or two were his cats but I never could figure it out because there were a lot of cats. So when he moved I am sure some got left behind. But the original 'Sunny' was left behind when he was approx 5 mts old, and that was 10-12 years ago. A young couple had just had a baby, but then had to move, no landlord would rent to them with a baby AND a cat.....so the cat got abandoned. We did not see him for years, until about 2 years ago when he showed up in our tiny yard.
The clone ( should we call him 'Clone 'LOL) or maybe Orange ) : is stockier and shorter length, they have different color eyes, and the interloper has one ear that looks like it was cut off straight across....so instead of a pointed ear, its straight across at the top...well about 1/4 to 1/3 of the top of his ear is missing.
He ( the sunny look a like) will be petted, but Sunny.... tho he will now come right close to us, still ,will not.

The original Sunny is old now. I wonder what his story is as to why he returned and why he stayed away so long, and where did he live.
During world war 2 there was a black cat named Oscar that lived on the German Bismark ship, when the ship sunk and the cat was in the water, he ended up on a British cruiser ship Cosmos (sp), which then got sunk and the cat was in the water again, then rescued out of the water by the British destroyer Legend. The cat's name was changed to Unsinkable Sam, then the Legend ship sunk and the cat was rescued and this time the cat was put on the land at the Straights of Gibraltor and lived in the governor's house.
