Cindy Here are some more excuses for skipping work she may want to use the next time. I am breaking in a new pair of shoes. I have to pick out a car. I'm having my nails done. I have a seriously over due library book that I have to return. I need to check into a rest home. I need to check out the hole in the ozone layer. oh well she will think of something to say next time she needs a day off to herself, good for her, I hope she got rest.

Had a good rain shower about an hour ago here. Hubby and I made it home just in time. We went out to have lunch to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary. For dessert I had bread pudding with maple sauce. Love that stuff!
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Hi everyone - Cindy so glad you had a nice visit with Laura. Anna, that is terrible about the accident, but how wonderful that her husband did find her before a car came down the road.
I just wanted to let you all know that Ruthanne emailed me late last night that her husband, Larry, passed away Wednesday evening. Here is part of what she said. I don't think she'd mind me posting it, and she does appreciate any prayers on her behalf:
Jesus was so gracious, the way He let Larry go in a matter of hours, instead of days. He died in my arms at home. He had been on Hospice for about 2 months but I was kept in a bubble of peace. Last week the Lord started letting some of the peace out of my bubble but only a pinprick at a time. I am starting to be scared of when the Lord will decide I am strong enough to go through this valley.
Let's all pray for her strength as she goes through this sad loss. We know God will take care of her.
She also sent me her phone number in case anyone would like to call her; of course I won't post that, but if any one wants to call her, message me and I'll give you her number. I'll try calling her maybe early next week, since she's probably got people around right now. (Maybe, not really sure.)

Steven had posted on FB also about his dad's passing, I asked how Ruthanne was doing but didn't get an answer yet...they are all probably busy with family...I would love to call her, but I'll wait till next week also....
I have a prayer request to add...Robert, Ron's little brother, the one that has been fighting cancer, well, he's in the hospital, and not doing well at all, all 4 of the siblings spent Thursday with him..Ron and I are going over today, as soon as Ron gets home from work....Robert is scared and crying....please pray for peace in his heart. He know's the Lord, but he's like a child mentally....
wow, a sad week indeed....

Kelly made my day, when I read her post about an active shooter at the LAX airport, turned out to be Zorro, a man dressed like Zorro. LOL
Yes it would be nice if Ruthanne posted here, especially since there is the more private trials forum she could post on.

True Anna, I hadn't thought about the private forums....
Bruce had to stay home today as the RA is causing him a lot of pain. Hopefully he will feel better tomorrow. I've been feeling it too, so we shall see... maybe it's the weather.

Hi everyone - I will try and persuade Ruthanne to start posting again. I'm going to call her maybe tomorrow. We've been having our master bath re-tiled (they started by taking out the old flooring and removing the shower insert - which all began last week). It's slow progress. I'm home while the men work on it and keep forgetting to do things like make phone calls.
ETA: did that even make any sense?

Sorry for getting here late today. As usual, I got caught up in my Bible and then just had to write about what He was teaching me again. It's all about trials and hardships, pain and suffering... sounds good huh? fresh-hope.com/thread/2712/trials-suffering-hardship-illness-persecutionOh you like that Zorro one Trust me that sometime occur sometimes doesn't LOL! Well if fictional hero decided cause trouble at in hometown airport least it was Zorro LOL! remember Zorro was ancient fictional hero when Los Angeles was still pueblo LOL! I must have missed that, it does sound funny!Hi everyone - I will try and persuade Ruthanne to start posting again. I'm going to call her maybe tomorrow. ETA: did that even make any sense? yeah it made sense to me.... is that good or bad? Thanks for trying with Ruthanne. I tried when we first started this board, but she wouldn't. She said she was afraid that the private forums weren't secure. I assured her that they were, but she never replied to my answer, so I don't know if she even saw it. That was a long time ago though. Oh you like that Zorro one Trust me that sometime occur sometimes doesn't LOL! Well if fictional hero decided cause trouble at in hometown airport least it was Zorro LOL! remember Zorro was ancient fictional hero when Los Angeles was still pueblo LOL! El Pueblo de Los Angeles, and Zorro riding in on horseback. Zorro must have been espanol. I read a couple of books about him as a child but really don't remember much. Here's what's on Wikipedia: Zorro (Spanish for "fox") is the secret identity of Don Diego de la Vega, a fictional character created in 1919 by pulp writer Johnston McCulley. He is a California nobleman living in Los Angeles during the era of Mexican rule (between 1821 and 1846), although some movie adaptations of Zorro's story have placed him during the earlier Spanish rule.
How's everyone doing? Boy, yesterday was a really tough day for both me and Bruce. I think it's the first time a RA flare hit us both at the same time, and I sure hope it doesn't happen again! I feel somewhat better today and assume Bruce does as he went to work. I didn't see him though as I didn't wake up till after he left. I hate it when I can't do anything because the next day I have double the work to do and generally don't feel like doing it! So, today I keep putting it off, but I know it's going to come back and haunt me.
Jennifer is having ups and downs as she deals with this new relationship. It's sure been a test for me too but a good one as it confirms for me that God really has changed my heart, which has been my constant plea for many years. (and still is) Part of me hates to see Jenn going through the emotional ups and downs of this, but I know it's good for her and that God will use it to conform her to the image of Christ. Like any mom though, I want to protect her, but at times like this I know I really can't. So I'm very glad that she knows the Lord and that I can count on Him to watch over her and do what's best for her.
It was much cooler for us yesterday so now I'm really looking forward to Fall and the end of this heat for good! Well, I'd better get off to the bible studies or else I'll never get anything done today LOL

Some people think they should run to the countryside for safer living conditions. I have lived in large cities, small towns and the countryside and to me they are the same as far as safety is concerned. I see people travel wherever they want to go in an RV and I think to myself that they don't know what they are entering into, it is not their home town, where they know where they can and can not go safely.
Speaking in general about no security on the Internet, big changes are taking place Oct. 1st. Daniel posted an article about it and people are talking about it. After October 1st the UN will regulate the Internet. We will have to wait and see how things change.

Wow, makes me glad I live out in the country and don't have to deal with that kind of stuff. That's just crazy! I've lived in large cities too, Tucson, Salt Lake City, and the suburbs of Chicago, as well as medium cities, although they've now grown much larger. In all of those places there was always crime being reported on the news daily; everything from murder to theft etc. Here, in this small town in NH is the only place I've ever lived where there is practically no crime, ever. The crime we see reported on our news is always from the either the two large cities in NH, or some of medium sized ones. I've even posted our police logs for everyone here many years ago for a laugh so everyone could see what I mean. As I recall, during those two weeks the major "crime" events reported to the police were that someones cows got out and were wandering around and something about someone's dogs barking too late at night! People here can and do still leave their doors unlocked and often just plain wide open without any problems. I know that as time goes by it probably won't stay this way, but I hope it lasts till I'm gone at least. Some people think they should run to the countryside for safer living conditions. I have a prayer request. We had some devastating news last night. Bruce's cousin, and very best friend, Mark, died last night. Bruce was closer to Mark than he was to anyone else, even his brothers, because they were like brothers. They've been together from the time they were very small boys. So I would deeply appreciate prayer for Bruce. Thank you all so much. On that note, I need to get going so I can have everything done before he gets home so I can give him all of my attention then. Love you guys. It's such a great blessing to be able to have such good friends like you guys to come to when there's a need. Thank you!

Also, Ruthanne and I got to talk on the phone yesterday afternoon and had a great conversation. She is doing well and the Lord is carrying her through the loss of her dear Larry. She wants us to continue remembering the family in prayer, AND she wants to return to FH and get back into fellowship with everyone here!! She has already posted in the Announcements forum!

From what you said, it sounds like his death was sudden and unexpected. I am so sorry. Yes, it was very sudden and unexpected. Thank you for your prayers, we truly do appreciate them! He was in Florida when he died, but his wife called me yesterday morning and told me they'll be bringing him home here to bury him. That will help as Mark had a huge number of friends here that were close to him and I think the service will help bring some closure anyway. She didn't know when it would happen yet, as she was pretty devastated herself and we couldn't even finish talking as she couldn't stop crying. Did you know that UPS shipping rates will increase 5% starting Sept.19th, yep. I think of all the UPS and FedX trucks that get in accidents in the winter time on the Interstate. I have to go take Jack the dog for a walk, silly dog won't go to the bathroom until he gets put outside the fence, so I walk out there also. There are many high weeds out there this time of the year with all the rain and all.

Phil.1:29For to you it has been granted not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His Sake. Hello my friends.I just been home about an hour and I am having so much trouble keeping the posts where they are as they keep moving way up or way down.Sorry,I am irritated I can't control my own mouse!!!! I buried Larry 1 week ago.Seems like a year.Margie,me and Larry's last anniversary was 41 years. But It will continue til eternity. We won't even be able to count as high as our anniv. goes.lol.That was supposed to be a funny because I know there will be no marriage in Heaven But he will still be my husband til I die. Then I become the Bride of Christ! And Larry, too! How awesome is that? Cindy,I hear you about your chores.I am so down in my back it took an hour to get able to stand when I woke up and the pain was bad.I still have Larry's seat-walker so tonight I will put it by my bed.I can now use bleach(yea!!!) and wear perfume and get lavender pine-sol,I even got lavender bleach. But alas.I can't stand up more than five min. tops and that is with my meds. When I can I am going to clean this place top to bottom,I am sure listening to K-Love and cleaning will be good therapy.I am only afraid the family will wonder why I didn't do it when he was here.Cause Dawn doesn'tget things white or smell clean. Sheila called me hysterical the day ,well 1 week ago.I had just walked in the door and still had my shoes on :'( .Steven got furious and started yelling into the phone that I didn't need this today but I told him she had no one else to call. She only has me now..So I called my niece/surrogatedaughter,Lisa.She called Sheila and told her to call 911 as there were 3 of her sons' friends threatening her and refusing to leave. She wanted Lisa to call 911,but my blunt girl told her she would be right out to help her but not if she wouldn't help herself and she made Sheila call them.So when Lisa and Shane(her hubby) got there the cops had already run them off and that was Jesus cause Lisa only lives 5 mins. from her.I called Sheila many times a day trying to get her to call me and she would talk to lisa on FB but not me.When she did call,6 days after He was laid to rest she spent an hour on the phone chewing me out for putting so much pressure on her when I knew she was covered up in the warfare :-X .The Lord kept me at peace though I was heartbroken and I apolgizedcontinually. She never asked once how I was, just how hurt she was cause I didn't automatically know she was in a battle or she would have called.I told her sorry so many times. So now she thinks I let her down again. She called this morn and was talking in her right mind and I asked her why she never asked how I was that night and she got all mad gain.I told her "Hey ,don't get defensive,it's just a question. Then She started crying andsaid"Don't you think I wanted to call you ?I just was covered up."The other night when she chewed me out ,I asked "well are you going to forgive me or not?"She said"of course,I love you.And I am sure God was teaching you some kind of lesson and she hoped I learned from it. Confusing day and one more worrisome thing happened but Steven will take care of him if he tries to call me again.Rick.Sheilas' ex-husband.He swooped in on her as soon as her hubby died and just wouldn't leave(though she was mean and tried to run him off ).I am not Sheila!I won't try to handle someone so evil on my own.But I always know Jesus is with me so I am never alone and now I have Christian friends to talk to about things.Don't y'all think the Lord had control of my words the night she first called.I was very kind and apologetic but I was very angry inside. My mind just jumps around,I hope y'all will forgive me for the book but I just can't wrap my head around all that is going on. Lulu,I am sorry if you are close to a death in your family and Cindy I feel for your friends wife,Gonna nap now.Hope this posts as I have been sitting here for most of "The Birds".Love Ruthanne

(((Ruthanne))) - glad you are back in touch with Sheila, even though it sounds like a strange and difficult conversation. You don't need any more confusion in our life, you need time to be quiet and pray and have God's peace in your heart and home.
Lulu, how is Robert doing?
Cindy, how about Bruce, after the loss of his friend & cousin Mark?
How are the rest of you?

Praying for you, Ruthann.
Felt a quick tremor yesterday morning from the Oklahoma earthquake. No damage done. I hadn't felt anything like that since I lived in San Jose, California. One time there we had a slow, shuddering-type earth tremor.
Went to Sunday School. Trying to rest today 'cause I just feel tired.
Hugs to all.
