Shortly after WND first started, I noticed that they littered their "news articles" with all kinds of ads for things that they sold. To me that's just plain bad manners if nothing else, but it also shows a love of money which is, as we know, a sin. So whenever I see something like that on any site, it sends off a warning to me that something isn't right there, and I begin to pay close attention to every word I read. it didn't take long to discover that WND didn't vet their stories very well, and occasionally they posted things as "news" that weren't true as a result. The longer their site was open, the more money hungry they seemed to become and soon just about every "news story" was nothing more then an add for something they sold, usually a book. I also noticed that most of their so called news was sensationalized, which isn't good at all. They weren't reporting news, they were turning things into what they wanted to be news. So I stopped posting from that site and haven't been back since. Recently, a friend and someone I respect as being well grounded in God's Word, posted a warning about one of the books they were promoting. I'd seen plenty of other books promoted by them that were not scriptural and had false teaching in them, but this takes the cake because it's supposed to be a bible! Let me share what she posted about it:
By Marcia Montenegro
The online Christian news source, WND (World Net Daily), is promoting the Cepher Bible. This is a "Bible" endorsed by the Hebrew Roots movement which has teachings denying the Trinity and in many cases, the deity of Christ.
The ad for the Bible states the following.I am posting this so you can see why I call it heretical. For one, they are adding non-canonical books.
Quote==The Hebrew word eth (את) means divine and the Hebrew word cepher means book, scroll, letter or writing. Hence, the את CEPHER is the “Divine Book”. This unique collection restores much of what has been removed and/or incorrectly interpreted in the Bible for centuries!. As such, the Cepher 2nd Edition:
• Sets forth a translation, rather than a substitution, of the names of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• Includes all of the 74 previously canonized books, plus another 13 books considered to be inspired and/or historically significant such as Chanok (Enoch) & Yovheliym (Jubilees) from the Dead Sea Scrolls, as well as Yashar (Jasher), 2-4 Ezra (Esdras), 1-2 Baruk, and 1-4 Makkabiym (Maccabees) – all published in the chronological order of their writing.
• Transliterates over 3,100 Hebrew names without substitution.
• Restores an accurate chronological order to the books.
• Corrects the errors (for the first time) in the Song of Solomon, in Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 14, in Zakaryahu (Zechariah) 5, in Matthew 23, and corrects other notorious errors that are found in virtually all previous English translations.
• Restores the 29th chapter of the Acts of the Apostles chronicling Paul’s journey to Spain.==End quote from superstore.wnd.com/CEPHER-2nd-Edition-Hardcover

From Ryan Jefferson:
Quote==Not only are they including material that's extra-biblical, but some of what they're adding is downright fraudulent.
For example, they claim that they're including the book of Jasher. However, the book of Jasher has been completely lost aside from a few mentions in the Old Testament. While there several books purporting to be "Jasher," biblical scholars don't believe any of these are authentic. This article gives a good overview of the issue:

They also state they've "completed" the 29th chapter of Acts "in reliance on the Suninni [sic] Manuscript"; by which they presumably mean the Sonnini Manuscript, which is another hoax. To sum it up, no one heard of this manuscript before the 1870s, no one has seen the supposed "original Greek" copy that it's allegedly translated from, and no reputable Bible scholar takes it seriously as a historical account.
Sonninni also supports bogus historical claims, such as the idea that the British are descended from biblical Israelites!==End quote
COMMENT
WND has long been setting its sail to the unsteady winds of the HRM, including WND owner Joseph Farah publicly stating that the now jailed Jim Staley is his pastor.
But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. 2 Peter 2:1
