Well I think one part of GErmany don't want far right in the hood Polls close, exit polls give SPD slim lead over AfD First exit polls as voting comes to a close give the SPD a lead of 1 percentage point over the AfD. Figures from Infratest Dimap put the center-left Social Democrats on course for 31.0% of the vote, and the far-right AfD at 30.0%. The projections also pointed to a very close race for third place. Both the center-right Christian Democrats and the new left-wing populist Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) were put on 12.0% support. Might be bad news for east Germany ecomomy Far-right gains in east Germany could deal blow to economy Even though incumbent state premier Dietmar Woidke of the Social Democrats won the Brandenburg elections by a small margin, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) won just shy of 29.2% of the votes. That made the far-right party the second-strongest in the Brandenburgstate assembly behind the Social Democrats (SPD), who won 30.9%. The AfD, which Germany's constitutional court has classified as a "suspected far-right extremist organization," gained 5.7 percentage points more than in the elections five years ago. The party scored a similarly outstanding result two weeks ago in the two eastern states of Thuringia and Saxony, where it garnered 32.8% and 30.6%, respectively. www.dw.com/en/far-right-gains-in-east-germany-could-deal-blow-to-economy/a-70295769
