Yesterday was not a good day for me. I missed church because of my breathing problems. Was on oxygen all day long. And I need to get my church work done since this is the last day of the month. We need a good soaking rain. These little showers we are getting just isn't enough to even settle the dust. Cindy, I hope Elijah gets well enough to go to Boy Scout Camp since he worked to earn the money. And that is alot of money!! I will be praying for him this week. Larry has cataract surgery on his last eye this week. I will be glad when it is over and done with. He does fairly well. But I have to remind him sometimes about all of the drops he has to put in his eyes. Especially that first week. After that things seem to level out for him. I have got to get off here. Praying everyone has a Great Day in the Lord!!

Hi to everyone!! Been really busy the last week or two and haven't been able to post. I have read the posts above though and it seems everyone is coping with the heat (and rain) really well. The temps here are horrible and when we do have rain clouds the humidity is really, really bad. Anymore with this weather we are having, I just keep my nebulizer out ready to use! I have even been taking some Prednizone on and off to be able to breathe. I had my yearly mammogram yesterday and found out that Norman has the new 3-D type of machine. I am excited about it because the readings on my tests has always been difficult in the past. Cheryl, I am really glad you have found a church home! I really don't know how I would cope without my church family. I have been attending my home church since 1982. I have seen alot of saints called home thru the years. And seeing them called home makes me want to go also. Their work and toil is finished done here but mine isn't.. So I keep trudging along, doing what I know the Lord has called me to do! I had to buy a new fridge right around the 4th of July. I went to Sear's website and they had theirs on half price!! I have always wanted an ice maker. Never had one in my life!! So--the one I purchased has an icemaker but I didn't want the drink dispenser in the door. This one has french doors, alot of space that my old one did not have, and the freezer in the bottom part. I was all the time asking Larry to get me something out of my old one. Now I won't have any trouble with that!! Also yesterday Larry called my attention to the fact that the shelves pull out in the fridge so that I won't have any trouble with that part either!! We had a good laugh about that because we weren't shown that part!! Oh well, will get off here. Need to start a load of laundry and it won't get done as long as I am sitting in front of the computer. Praying all of you have a blessed and peaceful weekend! God Bless!!

Good Morning, all!! It is a bright sun-shiny day and already very hot and uncomfortable! I don't get out much except to walk my dog. And, because he is used to the air-conditioned house he doesn't take long and heads right back to the house!
Well, Lisa pulled out this morning on her way back to North Carolina. She will more than likely spend the night somewhere in Tennessee. It is such a long drive it is hard to make it in one day. She and her husband is separated and have been over a year. She has moved out and shares an apartment with another woman. My grandson still lives at home and will be a senior this year. He moved with her. But she has a good job and is looking forward to going back to work when school starts. I don't think she is ready for her son to graduate from high school. He is the youngest and she is having a little bit of trouble with letting him go. He has been in ROTC since the ninth grade and will be going into the Navy directly from high school. I don't look for her and her husband to get back together. Lisa cried and prayed for 2 years before this happened and has resolved now this is the way it has to be.
Cindy, I am so sorry that Christopher has left re-hab. But I agree with you! Christopher doesn't know it yet but one day the Lord will draw him in and deliver him!
I fixed hamburgers last night for supper and I am glad I did! I had 3 of my children home and it was all unplanned! The only one that wasn't here was my oldest son, Tony. But since he lives about 3 hours away and was working it was impossible for him to be here. We really had a good time! I love when my children get together! There is always so much talking and laughter between them. I love to sit back and just listen to them.
I have to go back to the heart doctor tomorrow. I will find out about my blood work. I really don't have any idea what else the appt will be for. I plan on going into work at the church afterwards. I have several hours of work to do plus pay some bills so I will be there for awhile. But I don't mind. My office has air conditioning so at least I will be comfortable!
As for now, my load of laundry is finished and I need to put that in the dryer. I don't have much planned because I am tired. I did get my new refrigerator! Oh Wow!! I haven't had a new one in absolutely years!! I didn't get one with the drink dispenser in the door but I did get an ice maker. I have never had one so I know I will enjoy it! I am really glad I got it in while Lisa was here. She did most of the work emptying out the old one and even scrubbed the floor where it had set.
I pray all here will feel the Presence of the Lord within your hearts and lives today. May each of you feel the Spirit of God moving at your point of need and know with assurance that you are loved deeply by the Lord! And may we all remember Nehemiah 8:10 The Joy of the Lord is my Strength!

Hello everyone! I haven't had a chance to even check in let alone post after reading everyone's posts. I checked in for just a minute the other morning but was too tired to post.
It sounds like everyone has been busy! I had to take my car in Monday and have it serviced. The place I take it is about an hour away but it took me longer because of road construction. I left about half and hour early but was just a few minutes late for the appointment!
As for Tuesday, Larry and I enjoyed a quiet day. We both watched the Macy's parade on TV and really enjoyed it. It has become too much of a hassle for us to go to the city park and enjoy the fireworks. So much traffic!!! So we just stay home and watch the beautiful display on TV!
On Wednesday I had to be at a heart hospital for a heart cath. Our son, Jason, took Larry and I up there. This is the first heart procedure I have ever had but it wasn't bad at all. Everyone was so nice and did their best to make me comfortable before and after the procedure. It was done as an out-patient procedure so I got to come home afterwards. My dr. didn't find ANYTHING---no blockages--nothing in the procedure!! Praise the Lord!! Something else I had asked the Lord for and that was to have everything done thru my arm instead of my leg and groin area. When I was in the operating room I spoke to the RN about my worries and he told me my dr. preferred using the arm instead of the groin area!!! God knew my concerns and answered my prayers!! Praise the Lord!
And finally, Larry had to go back to the VA to see the physician that did his cataract surgery. I was not up to going so he went by himself. I don't like that but I was just not up to the trip. And, I also found out Tuesday when my daughter, Lisa, from North Carolina called me, that she will be starting the trip home this Saturday!! Talk about surprised and excited!! I didn't know she would be coming home again this year. She came home on Spring Break in April. And I thought that would be it!! I have some cleaning to do before she gets here. But I am not going to wear myself down cleaning. I want to be up and going by the time she gets here.
I need to go to church and get my work done there. It seems there is always something to do!! I was suppose to have retired in 2005 but haven't found it yet!! I think I will like it if I am able to finally get there!! Lol!!
May God touch the hearts of those who are hurting and encourage with His Spirit that these might be lifted up in the Presence of the Lord! And may the ones who need a physical touch be blessed by the Lord and feel the relief from all pain by the gentleness of His Touch!! God Bless!!

Thank YOu Lord for the apartment! I am so thankful that things are improving in Jazzy's life and I am glad she didn't keep this from her dad. Still praying for the situation she is in and that regardless of the relationship between her mom and dad, that she is taken well care of.

Still believing God is working in your son's heart and life. Our prayers do not go unheard. It just takes some a little longer to be answered!

Happy Monday to all!! Haven't been up too long but enjoying my coffee. I don't have much planned for this week, Praise the Lord!! Last week was full of doctor's appts. for both Larry and I so I didn't get anything done. But for now, things are quiet around here. Just had Jaspar out and the squirrels and birds are eating from the bird feeder and are playing. We have one squirrel that comes every morning and eats with the birds the bird seed that has been kicked out from the feeder. The birds ignore the squirrel and the squirrel ignores the birds! Larry put up a suet square for the birds. It hangs from the tree in this square wire holder and the birds have to hang on to it while they eat. They really do like the thing!
We really need rain! All of Oklahoma is needing more rain. Here where we are, the grass is turning brown and Larry is watering our tomatoes and okra so maybe they will stay alive and produce. It seems as if our rain chances just disappears when the weathermen predict it. Rain was predicted over the weekend but it ended up being hot and dry. And summer has just started. If we don't get rain, then we won't be mowing our lawns because there will be nothing to mow.
My daughter that had shoulder surgery is doing fairly well. She had torn her tendon away from her shoulder. The surgeon took pictures before and after the surgery. She had shredded her tendon and it had to be repaired. She is unable to use it yet (it has been less than 2 weeks)but at least she is not surviving on pain meds.
I am out of coffee and Jaspar thinks he needs to go out again. Wishing all of you to have a blessed day in the Lord!

Here in Oklahoma the ticks and mosquitoes are really bad! And our weather has been a little crazy this year but I believe summer is now upon us! After I worked at the church last Thursday, when I got in my car to go to the bank the inside temp was 106! I had the air going full blast and rolled down both front windows to air out the car. But it didn't take long, thank goodness. Cindy, that is great you getting insurance. What a blessing!! The Lord has opened the door for you to be able to see the doctor! Praise the Lord!! I am not feeling well today at all but in a little while I have to make a drive to Shawnee for an ultra-sound on one of my legs. My heart doctor thinks I have a blood clot but I don't think I do. It is just my bad leg that is flaring up and hurting quite a bit. Larry (my husband) had to go to the VA hospital for 3 appts. One for a CT scan of his lungs and 2 appts. for his eyes. I believe if nothing happens he will have cataract surgery on the 30th of this month. I hope all turns out well for him since I couldn't go. Hope all has a good day!

Cindy, I wonder also. I do believe that there are some people that started out in the Christian faith and then after awhile serving Christ becomes just a habit. If Christians do not study the Word and have an open relationship with Christ in prayer, then serving Christ becomes just a habit to many. Our relationship with Christ, other than our salvation, is so very important. May we never tire of seeking the face of God and renewing ourselves on a daily basis! :)

Good Morning everyone! I pray all is having a blessed day in the Lord. My daughter in North Carolina had shoulder surgery this morning and came thru beautifully. I give God the Praise for this! Lulu, I didn't know Ron had hurt his ankle. I will be praying for him. I agree with you about the Lord coming back soon after His Church! I have been feeling this way for a long time. And, after yesterday's events in Washington D.C. and in California, I am praying harder than ever! Some of you were talking about cats earlier. A few years ago we had a cat from next door adopt us. The couple couldn't have children so they adopted a little girl. She loved this cat! She would catch him and carry him around. I guess he got tired of it because when he started coming to our house, we would let him in and he would find him a place to sleep and he would sleep the day away. I told my neighbor and she laughed and said the cat was staying away from her daughter. Anyway, to make a long story short, this family built them a new house and moved. But they left the cat with us since he was staying at our house most of the time anyway. He is a well behaved cat. When our neighbor got him as a kitten, she somehow trained him to stay off the furniture, the kitchen cabinets, and even the table. She said she used a spray bottle of water to train him. He is a natural bob-tail and a beautiful cat. Our neighbor named him "Bob".

Cindy, I will be praying for both of your sons. My son, Tony, is a drinker. I have fasted and prayed for him for several years. His drinking has lightened up but he still drinks quite a bit especially when he is not on call on his job. I believe God knows exactly where our sons are and how to bring them in. We must keep the faith and know in our hearts they are going to be saved. I give God all the Glory for saving your older son!! Praise the Lord!!

Praying for a bad situation to end and that somehow God will open the doors for Matt to get Jazzy back. God knows every situation; in fact, God sees the situation and hears our prayers before we even pray! Asking the Hand of God to move in this situation and also to provide Rod with a steady job! Asking all in the Name of Jesus!

For the last several years of my life I have proclaimed that I do not have "religion". Not as the world sees anyhow! But I do definitely have a RELATIONSHIP with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!! I love the last line of this article! Somehow along the way, alot of Christians have lost the meaning of serving Christ. I am truly humbled as I serve my Lord!! May God continue to grant us His Grace and Mercy!

Thanks for posting this article. For some who reads this, it will be an eye opener. This article digs out what is causing the neutrality in our churches and why we are so open to receive the bad with the good. I know "these things must come to pass" but may God have mercy on those of us who are asleep and allow our hearts and minds to be overtaken with all of these lies.
