No, I'm not going to make it easier. The whole point of this is to be sure that you understand what the Bible is teaching and so you can realize that you don't constantly need someone else to tell you what it means. Growing up is hard, whether it's growing in the world's knowledge or God's Word. You went to school and you must have had to write papers about many subjects in school. I know you must think I'm being really hard on you, but I'm trying to get you to grow and realize who your real teacher is - it's not me, it's the Lord. I know it's not easy, but it's not impossible either.
Please lets make it a little more easier if that's possible.
I don't want to be behind
I don't want to be behind
You won't be behind because you're not going to do the same thing as Barbara. Your next assignment will be the 3rd chapter of Colossians. (Colossians 3) The directions are the same as before: You have one week to study and pray about that chapter; you should use any resources you can find that explain what it's saying to us. You can talk to your pastor about it, or to anyone else you want to. Then, when you're ready, write a sermon of 1000 words or more talking about this chapter.
Ok, I've given each of you your next assignments so you know what you're to be reading and studying on for now; but I also want to tell you what we're going to be doing after that. I'm going to start a thread in the counseling forum for all of us again. What I want each of you to do is to get that notebook you each made last time, and the Identity in Christ that I made for each of you, which is supposed to be in that notebook. I want you to read everything that you've written over again. Then I want you to rewrite the entire thing, by hand. It needs to be inside something like a notebook that can't "get lost" and where the pages can't get mixed up or misplaced. It also should have plenty of empty pages after what you've write so you can write more in it later.
The reason for this is simple. This notebook was to be with you always. You asked for help and I gave it to you, and we put the most important things in that notebook, which is why it was to remain with you so you could read from it regularly to remind yourself of what you needed to be doing daily. I never said you should read the whole thing every day, but the idea was that you'd read something in it every day to keep yourself on track. You would know when you no longer needed it when all those things were so firmly in your minds and hearts that you knew you'd never forget them. That obviously hasn't happened yet, and I'm not even sure if you guys even know where your notebooks are. So we're going to do this again. The reason for the thread I'll make is so that during or after you've rewritten everything by hand again, that you can ask any questions you may have about what you've written; and so I can make sure you've actually done it.So I'll give Eva access to the forum and go make the thread now, although we shouldn't need it for awhile yet.
OK, I gave Eva access to the forum too and made a thread for us. Here is a link to the new thread that we will use when working on your notebooks again: Barbara and Eva
