What does the Bible say about using things like CBD Oil?
All the Bible says is that we are to keep ourselves clear minded and self controlled. It says we're not to allow anything or anyone to control us except the Holy Spirit. Therefore it's not a sin to drink but it is a sin to get drunk or even "tipsy". (although because of the meds we take, neither of us should drink alcohol anyway) So due to what the Bible does say, it's a sin to take any legal drug or drink or food that would cause us to be less then clear minded and or would cause us to be unable to function normally. It is also a sin to take any illegal drug or substance for two reasons: first because of the same reason I just shared, and second because we are told to obey the law of our country, as long as it doesn't go against God's laws.
Because of what God's Word says, like I just shared, that means that even if marijuana is legalized, that it would be a sin to smoke it, just as it's a sin to get drunk. Also although we get our meds legitimately, if we were taking more of them than we needed, and enough of them to get high, (even a little) then that too would be a sin.
Because CBD is being sold legally and does not make you high, it would not be a sin to take it. I would however advise caution. Officials have no idea if this stuff will cause any reactions with any prescribed medications or supplements yet. It is also not being regulated by the FDA, which means that there's no way anyone can tell exactly what is in the bottle or how much of anything is in it.
The only other thing we have to consider as far as what God says about this, is that as married women, we must submit to our husbands as long as they aren't telling us to do something God forbids. Bruce has decided that we will not use it at this time. Whether or not he will change his mind, I have no way of knowing. So for now, the answer for me is no.
By the way, when we take a medication or try a product such as this, not knowing how it is going to react in our body, if it does make us feel a little or a lot high, we need to know that we did not sin as we had no way of knowing it would do that. If we took it again in the same amount in order to get high, then it would be a sin.
Last but not least, God also wants us to use the mind He gave us, so we should always carefully research things like this. Therefore, here's some important information concerning CBD:
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recognizes the significant public interest in cannabis and cannabis-derived compounds, particularly CBD. However, there are many unanswered questions about the science, safety, and quality of products containing CBD.
Other than one prescription drug product to treat rare, severe forms of epilepsy, the FDA has not approved any other CBD products, and there is very limited available information about CBD, including about its effects on the body.
The FDA is working to learn more about the safety of CBD and CBD products. More specifically:
The effects CBD could cause in the body, such as toxicity to the liver, when someone ingests CBD regularly over a long period of time. During its review of the marketing application for Epidiolex — a purified form of CBD that the FDA approved in 2018 for use in the treatment of certain seizure disorders — the FDA identified certain safety risks, including the potential for liver injury. These are serious risks that can be managed when an FDA-approved CBD drug product is taken under medical supervision, but it is less clear how these risks might be managed when CBD is used far more widely, without medical supervision and not in accordance with FDA-approved labeling.
The cumulative exposure to CBD if people access it across a broad range of consumer products. For example, what happens if you eat food with CBD in it, use CBD-infused skin cream and take other CBD-based products on the same day? What if you use these products daily for a week or a month?
The effects of CBD on special populations (e.g., the elderly, children, adolescents, pregnant and lactating women) or types of animals (e.g., species, breed, or class).
The safety of CBD use in animals (e.g., species, breed, or class) including pets.
Some CBD Products are Being Marketed with Unproven Medical Claims
Unlike drug products approved by the FDA, unapproved CBD drug products have not been subject to FDA review as part of the drug approval process, and there has been no FDA evaluation regarding whether they are safe and effective to treat a particular disease, what the proper dosage is, how they could interact with other drugs or foods, or whether they have dangerous side effects or other safety concerns.
Misleading and false claims associated with CBD products may lead consumers to put off getting important medical care, such as proper diagnosis, treatment, and supportive care. For that reason, it’s important to talk to your doctor about the best way to treat diseases or conditions with existing, approved treatment options.
The FDA’s top priority is to protect the public health, and that includes making sure consumers know about products that put their health and safety at greatest risk, such as those claiming to prevent, diagnose, treat, or cure serious diseases. For example, the agency has warned companies selling CBD products they claim are intended to prevent, diagnose, treat, or cure serious diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, psychiatric disorders and diabetes.
The FDA has also tested the chemical content of cannabinoid compounds in some of the products, and many were found to not contain the levels of CBD they claimed to contain. We have also heard reports of CBD potentially containing contaminants (e.g., pesticides, heavy metals); we are looking into this.
Some cannabis products are also being marketed as pet food and health products for animals. The FDA has not approved cannabis for any use in animals and recommends pet owners talk with their veterinarians about appropriate treatment options for their pets.
We are aware that there may be some products on the market that add CBD to a food or label CBD as a dietary supplement. Under federal law, it is currently illegal to market CBD this way.

My personal advice for those who do choose to use CDB oil, is to be very careful and to stay aware of any possible side effects and interactions with other meds you take, or even with foods. I would also recommend that people not drink alcohol when using it. Personally, due to the many potential dangers as long as it's not FDA approved and monitored, I don't intend to use it at all, no matter how tempting it may be. (and it IS tempting!, but then we all know who wants to tempt us!)
